[TWRP][SM-G7105] TWRP Recovery V3.1.0.0 NEW - Galaxy Grand 2 Original Android Development

TWRP RECOVERY
GALAXY GRAND 2
Team Win Recovery Project 3.1.0.x

Official TWRP App
The official TWRP app is the first and only first-party app developed by Team Win for TWRP. Please bear with us as we work to fix any bugs and build out the features. The initial version of the app does not support flashing on the Pixel due to the Pixel's A/B partition layout. In addition, the app may not support finding and flashing images from external storage locations. We are working hard to improve these items and bring you more new features.
Download Links:
We recommend downloading the app from the Play Store.
If you do not have Play Store access, you may download the Official TWRP App here: https://dl.twrp.me/twrpapp/
How do I use the app?
When you first open the app, you will be greeted by a few options. First, you will need to agree not to hold us responsible for anything that happens to your device while using the app. You may also grant the app root permissions. The app will work without root, but some functionality like image flashing will be disabled. Lastly, you can opt into enabling InsightCore (more on this feature later).
Once you have passed this initial screen, you will be greeted with the app home screen where you can choose TWRP FLASH or NETWORK STATISTICS (more on the network statistics later). On the TWRP FLASH screen you will need to select a device. Once you have selected a device, the app will periodically check for new TWRP versions for the device that you have selected. The default interval is once per day, but you can tap on the settings icon in the upper-right to change the interval or disable the update check entirely.
If you enabled root access, you will see options for selecting an image and buttons for flashing the selected image to boot or recovery. Note that you should flash TWRP images to recovery. The boot image flashing is for flashing full boot images (not just kernel zImages) and should not be used for flashing TWRP.

Thanks for quick reply @prince Niks and @Vivacity
I see, because in this version(lollipop) https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...very-twrp-3-0-0-0-sm-a800f-galaxy-a8-t3314178 I've tried and it worked.., I just want to confirm if somebody tried it already
Sadly, There's nothing in this forum for my variant, we do not have alot of custom roms in A8, so maybe I could just debloat the stock and flash xposed and viperfx,
Thank you for your help. If I find time to try it, I'll let you know if it worked..

IMPORTANT! This device enforces dm-verity. ANY modifications or even mounting system will put the device into a bootloop. To prevent this TWRP will ask at first boot if you want to keep system 'Read only' or 'Allow modifications to system'. If you choose to keep 'Read only' you will have to flash TWRP at every boot to recovery.
If you choose to 'Allow' then SuperSU or the boot patch needs flashing below to disable dm-verity.
To Root:
Flash the latest SuperSU release with TWRP:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133/
This device forces encryption.
To disable forced encryption, mount internal storage(DATA) and disable dm-verity you must flash the boot patcher below:
(Note this MUST be flashed after SuperSU if you intend to root)
1. Boot to Twrp
2. Format Data partition using FORMAT DATA button under Wipe options.
(Note: This will wipe the internal storage)
3. Check DATA is mountable.
4. Install SuperSU (if root is required)
5. Install boot image patch below.
6. Reboot

I don't speask Portuguese, but from what I can make out you are saying TWRP doesn't boot?
Can I ask which firmware build your device is on? You should be on at least AQC4.

The kernel is based on AQC4, so I'm guessing this could be the issue?
Wonder if anyone using AQC4 firmware could confirm?

I can not assign a screen image because the message can not count. I sent the information with a private message that you did not want. I hope it helps.
Good luck with. Good work.

I intend to fix that.
Can you do me a favour? Could you install DISKINFO from play store. Open the app then tap SDCARD. Could you post a screen shot making sure I can see PARTITION NAME and DEVICE.
Thanks.

Anyway based on your post I have made some changes. Could someone test this out and see if it fixes the SDcard mounting issue?

No need to flash supersu unless you wish to root.
Which kernel are you referring to? There is no need to flash any kernel.

Special Notes:
1. DON'T FORGET TO ENABLE "OEM UNLOCK" (located in Developers options).

(You can flash custom ROMs if you want to keep the OS up-to-date.)
PLEASE BEFORE YOU FLASH ROMS MAKE A COMPLETE BACKUP OF YOUR SYSTEM INCLUDING EFS SO YOU DO NOT BRICK YOUR MOBILE
WHAT IS TWRP?

How to intall TWRP using ODIN
1) Go to Settings » About phone » and tap “Build number” seven times to enable “Developer options”.
2) Go back to the main Settings page, scroll to bottom and select“Developer options” from there.
3) Under Developer options, look for “Enable OEM unlock”checkbox/toggle and make sure you Check it or turn it ON.
4) Now Boot your Samsung Android device into Download mode.To Do So Follow the steps below

6) Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down” buttons for a few seconds until you see a warning screen.
Press Volume Up on the warning screen to accept it and boot into Download mode.
Once your device is in download mode, connect it to the PC with a USB cable. The Odin will automatically detect the device and show an “Added!!” message. If not then your device is not connected properly

8) Click the Start button on Odin to start Flashing and wait for it to finish the process.
Once it finished successfully, a pass message on the Odin screen will pop up

I have flashed TWRP, formatted Data twice, flashed no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1.zip, flashed SuperSU and after that I can mount Data. But after a reboot I can't anymore? Am I doing something wrong?

I can flash files but cannot mount Data. I presume it is still encrypted despite being formatted twice?

So in TWRP format Data and then reboot again in TWRP.
And then flash SuperSU and no_verity?
Ok, I formatted Data twice in TWRP. Mounting Data works.
I flashed SuperSU in TWRP. Mounting Data works.
I flashed no_verity. Mounting Data works.
I rebooted into TWRP. Mounting Data works.
I rebooted into system and then switched off and rebooted into TWRP. Mounting Data does not work.
What am I doing wrong?
Correction:
I have now used this no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx file:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424951049
And now Data stays decrypted!

[RECOVERY] [12] [OFFICIAL] TeamWin Recovery Project

Introduction:
Team Win Recovery Project or TWRP for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch driven user interface , no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Key Features:
Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
Onscreen keyboard
Easy selection of internal/external storage
In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe, and run a backup.
We are looking for other talented developers, themers, and device maintainers if they are interested in helping with a free, open source project.

No, I rebooted to bootloader mode, ran sudo fastboot boot filename.img and TWRP splash screen appeared, asking for password. I entered my password and that's it, data partition was decrypted. I finally rebooted to system.

Thanks for the great work btw. Appreciated.
This work with stock oos11 encrypted?

2. go to Advanced > Flash Current TWRP (What does current TWRP mean? Official TWRP? and where is that advanced? Advanced in new TWRP?)

Sorry, but the installation did not work for me... :-( What i have done:
- i renamend the downloaded file to "twrp.img"
- i copied this file to the internal storage
- i startet the phone in fastboot mode
- then i startet adb
- i used the command "fastboot boot twrp.img"
Then i saw the following:
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 2.826s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.201s]
finished. total time: 3.027s
But the phone only switched off and nothing happend. What's wrong?
EDIT: i solved the problem! I forgot to put the file "twrp.img" into the adb folder. After doing this, the installation worked! Now i tried to make a backup, but it was not possible to select the external sd-card. How can i solve this problem?
Hi, thank's for your work for our device...
I read somewhere, that if we have TWRP installed, that we cannot flash update with fastboot...I want to know if it's true and if yes, how can we flash update..we have to find recovery update, or we can extract from fastboot archive and flash it??
thanks for your answer

Touch works when using fastboot boot and when flashed, it Was already tested on multiple devices

Is it possible to flash Xiaomi.eu weekly rom only by starting twrp from fastboot without installing it?
