Just on XDA: KingdomSense 3.0 booted on Droid Incredible. It's still very early alpha but it works.
I was wondering if this would be possible on SGS2 someday? Is SGS2 too far from any Sense phone hardware-wise that it could evern run Sense 3.0 smoothly?
I've seen videos of Sense 3 running on Sensation but it looks as laggy as 2.1 on Desire. Since SGS2 is more powerful would it be possible for Sense to run better on it than on an original HTC device?
Should we start a bounty on this once we have CM7?
if someone port that, i'll give it a try surely.
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a valid and portable media device for running or to plug it into my cars radio aux.
So it seems there's lot of nice stuff going on with the 4.0 version but almost nothing for 3.6 and 4.2 or am I wrong?
I checked the development section but I was a lil surprised.
So I just wanted to ask are there any ICS or CM things going on?
Does it make sense to move forward to a 4.2 or to grab a 4.0 where it seems that there is much more going on?
Are you guys able to give me a valid answer regarding the build in audiochip?
Thx in advance!
Flow
Well, as far as development, yes, the 4.0 and 5.0 have alot more going for them, since they have been around longer, and everyone that would buy an android pmp bought them, so no one was left to buy the 3.6 or 4.2, lol! As far as hardware, there is really not much difference. The 4.0 has an exynos clocked at 1ghz, the 4.2 have a omap clocked at 1ghz. The 4.0's exynos is actually slightly superior, but they are close to the same. Concerning sound chip, the 4.0 has a wolfson WM8994 and the 4.2 has a WOLFSON WM1811. I am no audiophile, so the 4.0 sounds great to me, never heard a 4.2 though. More info on all galaxy players here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457

I would definately go with the 4.0. The only advantage the 4.2 has over the 4.0 is aesthetics, whic for me doesn't justify the lowe-power sgx35 (as opposed to the 40 the 4.0 has), a lower-res camera (2.0 vs. 3.2), and the support the 4.0 has (me and team supernova), not to mention the excellent DAC we have.
Even if you are audiophile, SoundAlive's complete form is in 4.0 and 5.0 froyo. Gingerbread one doesn't have SoundAlive (Samsung says that they do but it's worse than equalizers in market.)
4.2 has half alive SoundAlive
At first thx a lot for that detailed information!
How to define an audiophile???
Music is very important to me and I prefer to buy quality, if the sound is crappy then it was too cheap.
But even $100+ in ear headphones make no sense to me!
I was focusing on an ipod touch 5G but 4xx Bugs just to have 64GB of Music... and to be punished with itunes. NOPE!!!
So I definitely plan to buy one of the mentioned devices and to add 64 GB with a SD card.
This guy here wrote something regarding the good wolfson audiochip and the terrasilent kernel:
amazon.de/review/R1UR1YBD071LJ/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B005BN4X5Y&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=#wasThisHelpful
So is it possible to add a rooted ICS and the mentioned Kernel to 4.0?
Or did this already happen?
Sorry for that low-profile question but until now I dont get the connection between kernel and OS
@ Han
I didnt get your sgx35 comment- is it a low performer a low consumer?
Did you want to say the CPU of the 4.0 is better than the one inside the 4.2? Did you mean 40 hours of playback?
Aesthetics is really an own point but I agree with you.
Is anyone of able to give a feedback regarding batteries with higher capacity?
Kind Regards from Germany!

And this is why I use poweramp lol.
dude dont go for 4.2 because of powervr sgx530
its ver bad when compared to sgx 540
omap 3630 is good but sgx 530 is no match for sgx 540
i have samsung galaxy sl (ompa3630 sgx530)
you would be stuck with 0 development and forget ics on the player
galaxy sl has good development but kernel 3.x is in development for 5 months due to broken code by samsung
forget development for the player
go for 5.0 or 4.0
btw i have player 5.0 and its smooth and nice
and due to the hardworking devs for 5.0 we would be able to jellybean soon
if you only use stock rom then maybe it would good
Hi guys,
a white Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 4.0, 8GB (EU-Version) is on the way!
As well as a 64GB SanDisk SDXC Card.
Looking forward to fiddle around on that lil piece with your support!
It has finally arrived! Time to get things going!
Hi folks,
my 4.0 now has the terrasilent Kernel 1.35 and ethereal 2.4.
I also installed PowerAMP and Voodoo Sound.
The GUI seems to be a little laggy and the brwoser freezes pretty often.
Did I do something wrong or how can I speed it up? Settings?
W-LAN works and the cam, too.
I also want to use a 64GB SDXC, any hints on the formating?
Kind regards

One thing that you can do is convert the file system to ext4. The stock file system is rfs. I forgot the thread but you need to make a backup and change the rfs to ext4 and change the md5 around. SDXC should work just as an SDHC. No formatting required. I did the ext4 mod to my 5.0 and my quadrent score is now just below 1900

Thx in advance.
I put the SDXC in the 4.0 and just formatted it within the the device.
Windows as well as the degvice itself says 59GB (what I expect to be right).
So the ext4 format only increases speed or does it also help for somethign else (file size)?
Are you talking bout the internal format or the SD?
5.0

The 5.0 has the most custom ROMs, if that's what you're looking for.

fyi, as you can read I already boight a 4.0 or do you mean I can use the same ROMs?
Honestly, I've been using 4.2 for few months now and it's pretty good, but yeah the camera is sorta crap.
It's same price as 4.2 for bigger screen and more battery, but I guess less camera and some other stuff.
Speakers IMHO are great, and yes I use PowerAMP so all my music sounds amazing regardless or Soundalive jibberjabber
It's a good device, and I'm thankful that it's rootable now. I might just buy a 4.0 considering how much more support there is for it.

Most of the custom roms for the 4.0 don't support the camara so you're still better of than me!
the two best ones not based on CM do lol. icy fusion and ethereal

Any odds of some dev porting this ROM to our phone? http://goo.gl/U2GMQ
onex+ uses tegra 3 processor
nearly impossible
odds are so slim it cannot be seen
I'm well aware of the processor differences, that tends to be more kernel sided though, does it not. Look at the EVO 3D, sense 4 and ICS were ported to that in just a couple of weeks and at that time there wasn't even anything close to a functional ICS ROM or kernel. Here we already have a fully functional JB ROM and kernel.
Your comparing a qualcomm device which had a port most likely from another qualcomm device to porting from a tegra device to a qualcomm device. It's not impossible but it's damn time consuming. Especially if anything is proprietary, it would have to be reverse engineered. It's sense and it's similar hardware but the rom is built around the way the hardware works, changes to the kernel to support our phones will most likely break other things in the rom since it is two different chipsets
Yeah I'm not sure what device that pretty was from, I think it was the One S though. Still the S4 and S3 SoCs are vastly different.
Alright though, I just thought it was worth bringing up while waiting for an official build for our device or a leak for ours, or I suppose the One S or AT&T.
Maybe the ROM can help toast with porting the imagesense libraries though at least. Last I heard he we was still working on finishing that up, wasn't he?
A backport on similar architecture is still easier then porting between 2 different architectures
it could be done but odds of fully functional are not promised mostly sound calls wifi etc would be broken, not to mention you'd need a sense kernel built for the port specifically. It can be done but porting something over that wouldn't work completely and spending hours, day's months getting things to work. it would most likely be abandoned.
Hi guys,
This new android phone " Turing Phone" news has been going around.
It is said to be unhackable, waterproof and unbreakable. (sounds like an ultimate phone to me)
The pre-order starts on July 31st for $610 (16GB), $740 (64GB), or $870 (128GB)
Here are what I can find on the specs:
-Size: Diagonal Size 5.5 in
-Processor: 2.5 GHz / Quad-core / Snapdragon 801 chip
-Camera: 13-megapixel camera
-Battery: non-removable 3,000mAh battery
-Finger Sensors: fingerprint sensor is located on left of the device.
-Doesn’t even have a USB port , uses MagSafe-like connector for charging
My question is.. Is it as good as mentioned. From the specs it does not seem that outstanding. But the looks of the phone seems pretty badass to me. Do you have more info? Let me know your opinion. Thanks.
Can anyone port the Rom to the M8?

The device itself looks great! and I am pretty excited, however, I am sure due to the security in it, porting a custom ROM onto it will be out of the question? Also, no headphone jack Guess only bluetooth headsets for this one. And root would also be out of the question?
We have to compromise on something eh
Thanks!
I reserved one, I'll post a review and some pics once received.
I've got a Wyvern on the way...concerned that it doesn't support Google Play...means, what exactly am I going to use the phone for? hmmmm...

Hey guys I have looked for a forum for samsung's new entry level tablet Tab A7(2020) SM-T500 and cannot find one. This device released in september and is decent alternative to amazon's fire tablet line. It does have some software shortcomings and came here looking to see if there is any developers working on it and no luck finding any. Does anybody know of development on this tablet at this time?
I was looking for the same thing. If the tablet proves popular, and I think it will, then it’ll eventually get a section on XDA.
s-t500 root
What do we think are the odds of it being rootable? Is it just Verizon tablets (using a SM-T378V atm) that have issues with unlocking the bootloader? Is it just gonna be an issue of time since it was just released? I'm hoping that since it's Wi-Fi only it shouldn't have as many hoops to jump through. It's on sale at Wal-Mart atm for $170 atm so veryyy tempted to pull the trigger on upgrading

Yes. A7 have OTG.
My model is T505.
Another vote for a dedicated A7 forum. I just got mine, unlocked it, and rooted it. I'd like to have a section to watch for new threads related to this tablet.
Why Tab A7 is the only tablet not getting Android 11 or LineageOS 18.1 ???????

It does have Android 11 now I just bought mine a few days ago and I had a crap ton of updates including Android 11 within that update and security patch for September
Be great if the Galaxy Tab A7 had a dedicated forum.
I've noticed this issue with the latest update from Samsung..
Since only recently updating to the latest software for this tablet I've encountered charging issues.
I've been charging the device using the standard cable it came with and instead of the tiny 1.5 Amp charger I've been using a 3.2 Amp which has worked fine until the update.
Since the update the tablet hardly charges at all.
After a full night on charge the device increases 15% battery life!
The tablet will also now NOT CHARGE when it is switched off!
I've noticed since the update the "fast charge" selection within the settings is permanently on and can't be turned off.
I've also noticed that if I use a 45 watt charger and cable for a laptop the device charges extremely fast while either on or off, however I don't have this charger or cable easily available simply to charge the tablet.
I mainly use this device in remote areas where fast charging isn't available and only standard chargers are available.
It would appear Samsung are forcing people to upgrade their entire charging network for 1 device that actually used to work perfectly prior to the update.
Can Samsung please undo this update that now makes standard charging unavailable to us mere mortals.
