Bluetooth call volume too loud - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hello I have a problem with my Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm. When I connect my Bluetooth headset and listen to music, the volume is optimal. I would like to make a call overrides the headset properly. Does anyone know of you where you can adjust? Mixer_path or similar?

When you make a call just change volume. It only changes call volume then afaik

Also have this problem, cannot adjust volume below a certain threshold which is still uncomfortably loud on calls. Xiaomi support has been no help (answer was basically "its designed like this and no one can change it"). Is there a fix around?

[Q] Low in ear volume on headset during call

Hello guys, just got my s2 few days ago, i am experiencing low in ear volume during a call when using mic headphones, i tried another set and putting the volume toggle up to max but its still low.
I am currently on stock ics 4.0.4 with Siyah v4.1.5 kernal. I have tried changing the audio settings with extweaks also but no luck. Are there any permanent solutions for this problem?
Thanks
Have you tried increasing the volume using volume key when incall? Incall volume cannot be set using volume toggle/slider.
Also afaik incall volumes are different when on headset and on handset.

Seems issue with the headset then. Afaik is "as far as I know"
You have to individually set the incall volumes when you are on headset and when you are on handset.

Turning front earpiece into front facing speakers

Is it possible to turn on the front earpiece for stereo sound from the front and bottom speakers for our device.. Note 4 and one plus one had this mod.

I'm using this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.omegacentauri.Earpiece
But it only allows use of the front speaker alone. It works really well though. If you have viper4android and enable the volume boost it's perfect. I really don't understand what the fuss is. Why don't manufacturers utilise this as a front speaker.
Only problem is that to adjust volume, you have to press the gear icon and adjust media volume. The hardware volume buttons adjust the call volume. What is great is that during a call, the volume is normal and won't deaf you.
Another problem is that if you forget to open the app to enable the ear speaker, viper will make the rear speaker super load so you might disturb others.

Enhance Headphone sound volume [NOUGAT] [7.0]

This is a simple modification to the MTK Settings
It's tested in the following roms: (might work on 6.0 but not sure)
- Stock Rom
- Eragon V1
What it does, it enhances the headphone's sound to its full potential
All you have to do is:
1: Enable Debug Options (settings, about phone, press build version several times, go back to settings and there should be a new option there, open it and close settings).
2: Download MTK Engineering Mode from playstore.
3: After Installing it, Open it and select MTK Settings.
4: Go on Hardware Testing - Audio - Volume - Audio Playback.
5: On 3/4-pole Headset set the Headset PGA to 160 and save.
6: Test and see the differences ?
It's a really simple modification, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask ?
hi, I did that but volume is still too low for me (I'm hard on hearing).
do you know which file contains those values, I would like to set it higher than 160 (I'm rooted)?

you cant set to higher than that, and even if it could it would just degrade the speakers even more, causing to either malfunction or lose eveb more volume to a point of no returb... This is a modification to the earphones only, you can mess with the speakers and put on the max that the app allows, but thats it, anything above the limits will degrade the speakers.

thank you for your response!
sorry if I didn't make it clear; I was talking about earphones, not phone speaker. I want louder sound on my earphones!
I edited some volume file in vendor\etc folder, made headset PGA value to 250, but it didn't do anything...

The 160 is the max volume.
So, if instead of applying for 3/4 pole Headset I apply it for Speaker label it will improve the sound on my Elephone speaker?

it might enhance, but the sound quality is already bad.. enhancing it even more will mostlikelly cause even more distortion

S9+ ringtone volume is lower with actual call compared to when testing in Settings

One thing I've noticed is that the ringtone volume coming from the earphone part (top of phone) is a lot softer/quieter than the volume coming from the bottom firing speaker - now this is expected and normal I think, but here's the issue I've noticed - the ringtone volume coming from the top speaker is even more soft/quiet when an actual call is coming through compared to when testing it in Settings. Can anyone else confirm this? You can test it by covering the bottom firing speaker with a finger/thumb and listening to how loud the top speaker is when the ringtone is playing. Compare the sound/volume of the top speaker between:
1. when an actual call comes through
verses
2. testing it in Settings
Bump - can at least a few of the people who read this thread post their results? Thanks in advance.
I have checked and found that the volume is different like you said. In settings it's a bit louder then when receiving calls. It's as if the volume in settings is set to max. I did then changed the volume to max and now the sound seems to be at the same level in either situations. Maybe just check your call volume level

Changing volume to max doesn't make a difference to the relative difference for me - that is, the volume coming from the earphone speaker is louder when testing in Settings verses when an actual call comes through.

How to force extra in-call speaker volume by default on s9+?

Hi there, on my new s9+ I'm finding the speakerphone volume is too low for conference calls unless I click the three dots during a call and enable the extra volume.
Is there an app or command I can run to increase the phone call speaker volume past the default max?
Speaker works great for music and other things... Just the call isn't high enough.
Does anyone know if the pixel2 xl has a higher call speaker volume by default? Considering switching as this will be annoying long term if I can fix.
Thanks!
