There is no alternative really. You have to use the preinstalled unlocked app provided by T-Mobile to unlock the phone.

thanks for your reply, I already used the preinstalled application, but my problem is when the application connects to the tmobile server, it fails to unlock, the reason, simply because I do not have a tmous sim card that has been on the phone for more Of 40 days and I have not consumed 100 dollars in credit. i was thinking a method similar like this topic. Unlock the phone

Could you be more specific please ?, I mean details step by step.
podrias ser mas especifica por favor?, me refiero detalles paso a paso.

If you're gonna post, try and keep it English only. Otherwise move to the pm system

Try this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Youll have to put it into download mode and help it boot manually as the UI informs you of it's current steps.. because you will need the bootloader to be unlocked as a prerequisite meaning you'll get the " Bootloader unlocked please press power to continue" screen giving you very little time to transition into placing the phone into download mode so be prepared and watch the Script Installer's UI!!

It worked for me surprisingly enough Then you can continue with Messi's method.

We have a stable root method. OP was asking about a carrier unlock method to use the phone with other companies, which cannot really be provided unless we have one specifically built for devices running an system similar to the aristo in the first place.

For the Metro pcs Aristo you have to use the Unlocking App on the phone. Which "Requires 90 DAYS of CONTINUOUS SERVICE" to be able to unlock the Phone. If you bought the phone from somebody not a store better hope its not reported lost or stolen, or it will be useless. you could try calling Metro Pcs if the is not stolen and is completely paid for they might unlock it for you.

Way Late but seems to work for me... TRY THIS FOR UNLOCK

EDIT: i tried restoring all bloatware apps - did not work,
i also tried putting everything in place, unrooting and then starting the update - also did not work
Thanks a lot, the method worked like charm finally on official lollipop
can someone provide flashable zip for AT&T lollipop 5.0.2?
Could you please suggest a simple process to update AT&T LG G2 D800 running D80020y to Lollipop?
I was able to find the official Lollipop .zip file (LGD800_Android_Lollipop_D800.zip) for D800 on LG's website but wondering how to install it. The file is 0.98GB in size which is apparently a FULL ROM.

u just need the 700mb file of the link, and put the comands (as the 2nd link explains).... will not take more than 5min

Oh, thanks for the info. So, the device needs to be rooted to proceed with this procedure?
I request you to add all the steps here at one place required to update from 20y to Lollipop on D800 by installing the OTA manually. The steps there look pretty confusing there.
Also, I'm unable to download the file from Mediafire. On clicking 'Authorize Download', it reloads the same page.
Will really appreciate your help! Thanks

If it is a hard brick, you will need a JTAG service to fix it.
However, since your screen shows some signs of life,
there may be an easier, less expensive technique.
You said you used Odin.
Did you follow the technique in this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925f-s6-firmware-thread-t3078841

Since your model is g925i download the firmware for that model. Also, your photo shows you are able to access download mode. That is very good. It means it is a soft brick rather than a hard brick.
Put your phone in "Download mode", you can see the "Reactivation lock" status... If your device is in "Reactivation lock: ON" you have a big problem. To repair it we need a "Eng Sboot" for g925i but already no is leaked.

LG K7 (K330) unlock

Hello all,
Just purchased LG K7 (Walmart Family Mobile variant, model# K330) and tried to unlock for use on T-Mobile now that all WFM phones are SIM locked. Received a code from cellunlockerpro but the instructions to unlock (2945#*model number#”) don't work to open the dialog box needed to enter the code. Phone has a pre-installed unlock app which checks the eligibility prior to unlocking. Is there anyway to bypass the app and go through the dialer or service menu to unlock somehow? Thanks for any information/advice.
I bought the same phone yesterday for the same purpose. You need to search the forums, and download lgup, lgup_k330 T-Mobile, and WEB_K33010h_00 T-MOBILE.kdz. Follow instructions on the install, and flash that file. It will boot back up connected to T-Mobile. No unlock code needed.
Let me add as I am sure you know I had rooted, and unlocked the bootloader.

Okay, so if I flash this .kdz to the MetroPCS (ms330) variant using LGUp then I will be network unlocked or have switched networks to TMobile from MetroPCS; bypassing the factory installed device unlock application which was originally on the MetroPCS K7? Forgive me Im trying to verify before I attempt this.

Its possible, but more likely that you would just brick your phone if you tried flashing a firmware that wasnt for your exact model phone. Mostly because they use the partitions for different things. Never a good idea to flash firmware onto your phone thats not actually for your phone.

U do know after having this phone on metro for 30 to 60 days all you have to do is call them and they will unlock it for free. Every phone i have get from metro I unlock and still have piled up just in case I or someone needs one loll. I have everything from galaxy avant to core prime to LG k7. This is my favorite part about metro you buy a phone you actually buy and keep for any carrier
