Hi, my Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.
My device is bought in Singapore.
Its my first time rooting my device.
Ran into a problem that I couldn't turn on my wifi anymore. (tried wifi fixer app and turning airplane mode on and off)
I have successfully rooted my device as verified with the Root Checker App.
I have downloaded all the files from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330598
I should done all steps correctly.
After I have done those steps, I downloaded Simons_JB_Rom_v100_based_on_AMH1.zip
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2374899
Transferred it into my phone then I proceeded on installing the Custom ROM.
I've backed up my stuffs through the the recovery.
I have reset my phone to factory settings, wiped the cache partition, wiped Delvik cache.
I did a restart but i did not see any "Yellow exclamation logo".
After all, I proceeded on to install the ROM.
I cant turn on my wifi from now on. I've tried to download the "Wifi Fixer" app but it wont work.
I got a feeling that I have not erased my previous stock ROM but I proceeded on to installing the custom ROM.
Any kind souls out there who can help me or give me some links that I could refer to?
Thank you in advance! :fingers-crossed:

You need to do a complete wipe and install a stock rom and verify if the phone works. If it does then start again with rooting etc. If not return it for a replacement or repair.

As mentioned in the first post, I did it all correctly? i think i am only unsure on how to do a complete wipe. i restored back to the previous backup. it is working again. but i wish to have a custom ROM installed.

Just install the custom Rom over the top of the old one, no need to do factory reset or wipe anything. The custom roms are based on stock anyway.
Try that and see how it goes.

I have same problem like you, and I finally fail back to stock rom of my region. Then get the root access and delete all bloatware.
So any update of your case, maybe we have the same root cause
I know that this thread is very old but I didn't want to make a new topic on something that was similiar to the problem I was having, apoliges if making a new thread was the right thing. I just really need you all's help.
I'm in need of some assistance.
I have my Galaxy Mega on Metro Pcs. Woke up today and decided to root it or at least ( attempt ) to root it myself. I looked up a couple tutorials and eventually did it. BUT, due to me being inexperienced I didn't make a "backup" of anything.
So now, I'm stuck with a Galaxy Mega that seems to be rooted on another platform other than Metro's. I also am unable to use the Wifi feature, and it seems that I can't transfer files via USB - PC
I tried reverting my mistake but I don't think I'm flashing the right thing. Can someone please guide me in the right direction as to flashing this Mega back to the way it was. I don't want to bother with the root anymore, I just want the phone back to the way it was.
I'd really appreciate any help you gentlemen could give me.

you can get the firmware from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-M819N&pcode=0
download the zip file. than unzip it and flash it through odin.
That site doesn't have the firmware for the U.S. Galaxy Mega 6.3
Any other link I could try?

I followed the link but I don't see where the it says United States after I check Galaxy Mega 6.3
I could be doing something wrong, but I'm sure I'm choosing the proper Mega Model.
After I click country, there is no option for America/United States

i don't know for sure but probably not. I have had the phone for two years now and the bootloader was never locked previously
I wish I had that link about an hour ago, but figured out how to use the SamFirm Tool posted in another thread. Happy Flashing everyone
Also. First boot is taking ages
I'm so excited! AH. I need to get Odin now -.-
How does everyone like it so far?
Also, does anyone know if it would be a good idea for me to flash back to the stock Lollipop rom and then flash the update via Odin? I'm on a custom rom right now and I don't know if that will mess things up.
I was rooted on FOL1, flashed the marshmallow update via odin. Make sure you factory reset to set the binary status as offical, because I'm having booting issues

Have you been able to Root? Please share your experience. Can't wait really!
I'm still waiting on the update to boot.
Hmmm, after rebooting and upgrading the "google Play Services" app, Google play finds an update for Samsung Voice Recorder which won't update and crashes with an error code 505. Will try and mess with the permissions for that app.
Decided to flash the stock rooted rom and update via Kies. As of right now it is optimizing app 105/273
Update: It rebooted after optimizing the last app and now its been hanging out at the T-Mobile screen for the last four or so minutes
Update 2: FINALLY got it to boot :3 I ended up flashing the image again through Odin~
Update 3: Rooted (followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...sm-g900t-firmware-t3358190/page4#post66995024)
Yay~ Marshmallows
Edit: It looks like some people are having trouble with this update so I'm going to give a quick rundown of what I did and how I got everything to go smoothly. Now I'm not saying this is the correct way to things because most likely it isn't, but this is is just what I did that worked (for me, hopefully for you too).
Step 1. I flashed the stock rooted rom on my phone and unrooted it (not sure if this part is necessary) and then connected it to Kies to let it update that way (I was too lazy to mess with Odin tbh).
Step 2. After realizing I had been stuck on the T-Mobile splash screen for about 20 minutes to long I downloaded the image from the Mega link provided on this thread. Booted the phone into download mode, flashed via Odin, phone booted properly in no time.
Step 3. Installed Custom Recovery and Rooted the phone following the method in the link posted above.
MARSHMALLOW PARTY~
So I installed via Odin and as I was going through the initial setup it asks about WiFi and I turn it on and it keeps turning itself off after a few seconds.
UPDATE: Rebooted and was able to get WiFi to stay on.

What root options should we be trying? CF Auto Root?
I installed this over the top of Lollipop using Odin. all my data carried over and everything seems to be running just fine. Installed TWRP and SuperSU, roots working just fine as well.
Only issue I'm coming across is an update to the Samsung voice recorder in the Play Store keeps failing with error 505.

I only flash via fastboot and when going between versions I'd personally want to do a fully clean flash. Mind you I reverted to MM after trying N for a couple days, but again, I'd never flash a full factory image via Flashfire.

Unless a lot of users have certified that flashing via dlash fire works, I would recommend a clean flash via fastboot. This way you are flashing the images the most direct way possible. Doing this will also reduce possible entry points for issues.
First person to find an .mbn file in the boot.img or bootloader.img gets SO much cred.
Oh my .. Time to flashing silently
Is there a list of apps that currently don't work (or do work) with 7.0? I'm trying to switch over but there's a couple core apps that I need to know will work fine.

Most of the apps on that list that I use did not have the stated issues... None of them did.. I'm not sure if that list is up to date.

From what I've seen, this version isn't all that superb. Being on 6 isn't so bad
I've honestly had zero issues with the factory image for N. I wiped everything and clean flashed the image flat. Once I restored all my apps (around 80), so far it seems very smooth. No issues with lag in either the system or the fingerprint scanner.
I keep getting an error about not being able to find systsem.img in its package.. In thought they fixed this in the flash all script in 5.0 for factory images?

Hey y'all,
Sorry to bother here. I looked around but couldn't find anything. I'm running NRD90M on my phone. I install TWRP and I rooted my 6P + unlocked bootloader. However I just downloaded the full image on google NRD90U. I'd like to put back my phone to stock with this new image and be able to just keep it stock and receive OTA. Can someone help me out or giving me a link where there's a tutorial. I already downloaded Fastboot/ADB and installed my drivers.
PS: It's find if it wipes everything. I just want it clean.
Thanks!

Hey guys nougat is available to download for axon 7.
A2017U only, of course...
(so far)
Just restored to stock form LeanageOS to give it a spin. Downloading now. Although I saw it on Reddit first ><
I remember lots of people in the other nougat threads that ripped on ZTE saying there's no way it would be ready.. a little late, but not too late. Good job ZTE.

Don't know yet. A beta user said all they had to do was go into fastboot and unlock... Hopefully the release build is the same.
So... either wait and see, unlock now, or go for it and be the first to try.
Does nougat have the dreaded power management?
Just tested Daydream a bit. The power button is no longer a problem
But I can't find any options to adjust blur or flicker like in LeanageOS. Also, I still get quiet a bit of drifting to the right. Was hoping Official would help with that, as other fixes/solutions had minimal impact for me.

So what's the easiest method to install? Trying tennear's tool but I keep getting failed to open recovery.bin.
It came OTA
Could somebody pls pull the ota link?
I can confirm. I am downloading right now. I will try to pull the OTA when it has finished.
So I was looking for an answer of being stuck in the bootanimation and I found the answer. I've gave this tip on some ROM threads and one guy has finally tried and the result was positive. And today, with Pixel Experience update, I was able to confirm that this method works so I wanted to tell you guys that you won't need to clear data anymore.
Before the ROM update, you will need to flash the stock boot.img in Magisk. Use "Uninstall" button and click on the "RESTORE IMAGES" button. This is supposed to keep your modules, but I haven't tried it since I was getting some sort of error that claims I don't have any backup, but I do.
Another way is to flashing the stock boot.img in the firmware update file of your current version, not the version that you are updating. It's supposed to work in theory and should keep the modules you have. Haven't tested it yet.
And lastly flashing the Uninstaller.zip. It'll remove your modules too, so get ready to install them all again, so keep a Screenshot of them if there are plenty of them.
After doing one of these three, you are good to go with installing the update. They will work on any ROM, including miui.
Ps: In latest magisk releases, after restoring the stock boot image and flashing something from recovery, it appears that magisk reflashes itself again after the flashing is done. This means if you are going to update system, you only need to restore boot.img and install the update, magisk will install itself after the update.
Please note that your kernel will need to be flashed again if you are using a different kernel.
Have a great day.
