It might be deleted by updater-script. Better solution is to copy your .apk to /data/app.

Make sure you have a kernel that supports custom boot animations such as siyah kernel.

How to change boot animation? The easy way:
1. Download any custom CWM flashable boot animation zip here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410490&highlight=bootanimation
2. Boot to CWM recovery
3. Flash the boot animation zip you downloaded in 1. Just like normal zip
4. Reboot phone
Done.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Well like said in the post above^ flash as zip, or you place the zip in system/media and if it didn't work then try putting it in data/local

Are you sure that you have a custom kernel? In any case, I advise you to backup the bootanimation file, not delete it.
You just need to add the .bak extension to the original file. For example: bootanimation.zip.bak or in your case samsung.qmg.bak
Copy the new file into system/media or data/local as has been indicated by the other users

Hello!
Can someone explain to me what differences are between these roms? (see attachements):
I have MT6755 device and it's stock ROM has inside a boot.img, system.new.dat, system.patch, META-INF, etc..
And then I found a device which ROM has inside just boot.img, META-INF and system folder.
What's the difference?
If I want to port a custom rom, does my device need to have in a custom rom these files(system.new.dat, system.patch...) too, or can I use a "structure" of the ROM zip with just boot.img and system?
As far as i know You just need only System, boot.img and meta-inf also data if you wish to add an app as user

So if I want to port a ROM from device that has (system.new.dat, etc..), I need only to extract system.new.dat to get system folder and just use it?
