Can I root my device - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Verizon Galaxy S7 with snapdragon. Is there a root for my security firmware version? It is GM930VVRS4BQC9.
Thanks for the help!

There's a dedicated sub section for the S7, You'll find the answer you seek there more then likely rather then in Android Q&A.
Your best shot is to start within here:

Not really. The G900A (AT&T version) has a locked bootloader which means the kernel and bootloader cannot be changed. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. There are certain G900F (International version) ROMs that can run on the G900A, but it's still the G900A. For those ROMs you should go to the G900A threads to get more information and ask this question there to get better responses. This is the T-Mobile forum.
Sorry

Again, we need to know exactly what it is you want to do. Then we can advise. You have a G900T and it cannot be a G900F although it can do similar things. Exactly what are you trying to accomplish?

I have a T-Mobile S5 and am using on AT&T with Omega rom which is basically a G900F rom. But I still use the G900T's modem and boot loader. It works very well that way and is not very hard to do. If you go over to the G900F threads and read some of the ROM threads (such as Omega) it will explain how it's done.
Good Luck!

G850A Root Confirmed

Using Kingroot 4.81 on Lollipop was able to root my Galaxy Alpha. If anyone is willing to further develop with this, here it is.
Congrats and thank you for letting us know! I gave up on At&T version phones specifically after the S5 Mini was unable to get root, so I got the Alpha SM-G850M for myself to use on Cricket (At&t) and now a SM-G850W for my friend to also use on Cricket. Want to try the SM-G850F and compare them all. The SM-G850A is the most common found on ebay and dropping in price. Until there is a good ROM for the SM-G850A I'll stick with the Intl versions.
I did it too on KK

Don't even bother. There's no U model listed in the list of models. I think all the 8+ models for the U.S. are U, which was not in the list.

We are trying to tell you that if you try and execute this root method you will likely brick your device.
Don't ask for help and then argue with the people providing it.
IT WILL NOT WORK FOR THIS DEVICE

Chainfires thread on the xda forums sxroll down to where it says cf auto root homepage click it
Scroll down to liat of odin flashable devices you will see sm-g955u
so again how will this brick the phone? Its linked from xda to his official page. Hasnt chainfire been instrumental in rooting countless phones in the past? How is he all of a sudden untrustworthy?

Well first off 955u refers to a LOT of devices.
Maybe it one of them is safe. but by all means flash it and go for it.

It also says right above that list that if your bootloader is locked, you'll brick the device.

Damn it slimberg. You are clouding the issue with logic.
Doesn't really matter if the model number is supported, the software version also needs to be supported, which it isn't.
Regardless, don't you think that if a viable root method for this phone was available, that it would already be posted on this forum and that ROMs, Kernels and the like would now be available?
Just a thought

What version is on your device. As long as this is flashed in Odin. If it's not the right bootloader revision it will only secure fail. As this looks like a revision 1 bootloader. Odin should never brick a device. If it's wrong it will fail

Remove AT&T Software from G965U1

I have an unlocked US S9 Plus that I installed the AT&T ARC6 on. After doing this it now has the AT&T splash screen and the AT&T bloatware. Is there a way to reflash this phone and not have the AT&T stuff installed? Thanks!
