What apps are there to customise LED on/off duration? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The LED behaviour on my Nexus 6P is weird. It flashes ON for half a second then OFF for 3 seconds. I want to change this so that the LED stays ON for a second and OFF for another second.
I used to be able to do this with GravityBox + Xposed when I was on Marshmallow but now I'm on Nougat and am looking for an alternative.
Is there any app that allows me to do this? I have root. I'm willing to modify some files if needed.

Have you checked out "LightFlow" I haven't used the app in a while because my current device doesn't have an LED, But the app might help you out, worth a shot.

I don't think it has the feature I'm looking for.
Thanks though.

None do. That I know of. I had to edit it in the code for my device.

Any chance you could share with me what you did? I should be able to handle it if it's not too complex.

[Q] Notification LED

Does anyone know how to use the front key lights as notification led's on our L9 since we don't have one? I found out how to use the camera flash as one but that's the back of the phone and i don't like facing the phone screen face down on anything in fear of scratching the screen.
If there is not a method already around somewhere to do this, how hard would it be to get this working? I think it would be a great asset to our L9s!
R: [Q] Notification LED
Use LG Notifications from Playstore. It's free but requires root.

Please try the NOLED app. Probably a better option. Tried on my HTC Glacier. Works.

Works for me.
How does it behave for you? On my L9 nothing changed at all once installed and enabled :/ What settings did you choose? Do they flash after the screen turns off for awhile after the notification, and stay flashing until they are read??

I just chose the default settings, and it flashes the front key lights till the message is read. Maybe cause I'm using P760 V10h on my P765.
The app is a battery drainer since it wakes the cpu up each time the buttons light up.
Im hoping they can program this feature into future roms for the L9 where it just causes the LED's to blink until the screen is turned back up when a notification is received. Not sure if its possible to program the blinking to run without waking the cpu?
That was another concern of mine, but if it was integrated into the rom in such a way to not wake the cpu then battery life would not be affected as much.

Torch App Using Flash Light

I'm looking for a torch app which uses the LED flash of the camera, does anybody know of a good one - preferably free!
I've tried several and none of them actually utilise the flash - only the screen lights up brighter but I want the power of the LED
.
I'm guessing there is something within the software of the camera which can't be overwritten by the apps currently available??

i found it quite fun the first time i tried to use a torch app.
i got one that flashes the LED when the phone rings
rang my phone and all that happened was the lens extended then retracted several times so my phone moved up and down off the table
which was actually a cooler thing lol

Bump this old thread. Looking for a working apps. Have tried 20+ of all the LED/torch in PlayStore with no luck.
Last hope (that will be unlikely) is to hope Samsung update the firmware to Lollipop, since it will have dedicated Torch button in quick settings.
...nah
Another huge fail for Samsung. No wonder this phone is so cheap on eBay. If they arn't careful, they'll go the way of HTC.
a xenon flash isn't a led. turn it on for more than a minute and it'll burn your battery!
it isn't a standar light, that's why it doesn't work as such for flashlight apps

[Q] Increase Camera Time-out?

Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the native (4.4.2) camera time-out setting?
I'd like it so my camera app doesn't turn off until I manually close the app, or after ~10 minutes.
You can use the xposed module App Settings to force the screen to stay on when the Camera app is open, that should do the trick

That won't work. It closes itself no matter what. It has it's own built in timer when it stays open.

Ya, I figured it was built-in ?. I was hoping someone out there might have figured out a way around that by now (the camera app has had that same auto close function since at least Jellybean).
I know there are probably ways to open the app (again) by voice, but then, of course, it reverts to default settings, which doesn't help me much if I changed a configuration ...
Bummer. ?

Its been on my "list" but not at the top. I don't encounter this to be an issue for myself, so it hasn't been priority plus I completely forget about it when I have free time. If I get around to it, I'll probably create an xposed module to disable it.

Ya, a module would be really cool for this particular problem.
Any idea if Lollipop's camera is the same?

[Q] How to kill the charging LED?

The question's been asked a few times before (including by me), but so far with no solution. I'm trying again, then:
Does anyone know an app or hack or tweak that will completely kill the charging LED (or kill the LED altogether - if only I could open the phone and disconnect it!)? Yes, I'm rooted, and yes, I've tried "LightFlow", "Charging LED", Light Manager", etc., but so far none work.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just use custom rom and change color.......
Many thanks, but I don't want to change the colour, I want to switch it off completely.
I'm very happy with the stock ROM, and I would much prefer not to have to use a custom one. However, if anyone here is able to verify from experience that it would definitely be possible to switch off the charging LED completely under a custom ROM, then I guess I may have to consider doing that.

You can set it to black and it will match the body of the ultra. Why does the led bother you?
...............
That looks very encouraging, thanks. Can you tell me where the screenshot comes from? Is it an app, or part of the settings of a custom ROM, in which case which one? Many thanks.
As for why I want to switch it off: I have a desktop charger by my bed, the phone is positioned facing me, as I want. But when I'm sleeping I want complete darkness and the LED is a tremendous annoyance.

Thats a part of settings app with led options injected. It appears in most cm based roms.
Cheers. I do apologise if I'm sounding pedantic or difficult, but can you actually recommend a specific ROM? I'm not experienced with trying out ROMs, and I'd prefer not to install one, only to discover that it doesn't have the right settings, and so have to try another. Thanks very much.

I've already tried. It's not work all the time.
Every 5-10 min, green light comes back again.
It has to be mod diriect in the system.
Thanks for your recommend.

Are you running on stock? I'm on ResurrectionRemix and just installed the app. It wasn't working on initial default setup + root option because of the "Direct Mode" setting. After turning it off, it was working perfectly.
Also, make sure you turn on Notification Access and keep an eye on the app that Light Flow has selected for Phone and SMS, etc.
For example, I use Textra for SMS so I had to configure it to use Textra instead of the preinstalled "Messages" app from Google. Then I set the red notification light for it.
30 minutes now and it's still blinking red. I don't know about stock since I'm not on it now.
My Axon 7 ULboot+root using A2017G V1.2.0B04(Australia latest rom).
I think someone can modify this rom, since someone can modify date&time and place on the status bar.
If no way to do so. I will try your ResurrectionRemix and using Light Flow as you mention.
Thank you very much for your opinion.

Yeah, you may be right. Why don't you try sending a message to the OP who created the "Center Clock" mod? He may be able to help out.
I'm already working on the led.
But first I have to solve a compilation issue that give the adjustments from the first day.
patience.
