Change Firmware

Hi all,
I bought a samsung galaxy s3 yesterday here in China, only to realize that MANY features are missing. This includes Google Play, S Voice and other features which was the original reason why I bought this phone. So I was wondering if there is ANY way of changing the firmware of the S3 to some other firmware which does have these features or is this simply impossible?
Here is some info:
Operator: China Mobile
Model Number: GT-i9300
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: i9300ZNLF2
I hope that is enough info to answer the question.
I have read recently about 'rooting' but I'm unsure if this has anything to do with my problem...
Thank you! Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!!

I just /won/ one of these, but it refuses to update beyond factory version of 4.2.2 ... I definitely want 4.4.2 update as 4.2.2 is too old and not secure.

What method did you use for rooting? Do you have factory reset after every reboot problem?

There's no root method for that built yet. All you can do is wait and see if they will figure out a root method or not.

Kinda need the model. But after root more than likely any data will be overwritten. And be gone anyways
What Varient and version of android are you on? Also the above reply is correct because just unlocking your boot loader will remove all current data as it performs a data factory reset as part of the process..
