I'm new here
so lets get started,
I have a lenovo k3 note , was bought about 2 years ago.
I started changing its ROM from the very first day of this year..
Until now I have tested and installed about 40+ ROM's for my phone.
Although it was looking nice, some things are not working fine.
So I Flashed stock ROM and now I'm tired of it again. The lagging is too much.
I was very impressed by the work of 'Sandeep Sethi', Who is a senior developer in our XDA.
His MIUI MM was very good, but was unable to open camera. And now he made a patch and now everything is working fine. But I tried to flash Xposed zip and it was not booting up...Then I used his Star OS. Its very good but I love the MIUI. So I'm interested in testing new roms, kernels and much more.
I would like to find new ROM's and flash it.
Someone give me a complete guide about porting mtk 64bit ROM's.
I'm very much interested, Hope you will help me....
thanx in advance...

Hello guys,
I downloaded today the official Lewa OS for the Huawei Ascend Y300 and flashed it on it.
It runs very smooth and solid however the rom is meant for the Chinese version of the Y300 so a few things don't work like the camera and some more functions.
I would really like to fix this, isn't it I know s*** about creating custom roms.
There are a lot of tutorials on the internet but I simply don't know which one appeals to me + I am scared to mess a lot with the rom since my y300 is my only phone and it would be a pity if this phone would get hard bricked.
So can anyone explain to me or give me a tutorial how to get first of all the camera working and after that some other functionality?
You can download the ROM here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/huwl712xw5avqjf/sUVTh498x3/LeWa_HUAWEI_Y300-0000_JB_ROM_14.03.28_.zip
You can Download the call fix here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/huwl712xw5avqjf/f1R5aY3XOn/lewacallfix.zip

Flash custom ROM
Video with links to files, and other hopefully useful info. FOR A SOLUTION!
I had a really long post with useful info containing an answer maybe not "the answer" Wanted me to instead post a comment.. Below are the instructions on how to do it according to a Youtube Video I found. While I haven't tried this method, It looks sound to me, they've included all the files needed in a link to MEGA. I'll re-share without the password / decryption key if the poster agrees only.. I do highly suggest Phoenix ROM if you're on a kltevze, it come included with eveyrthing you're looking for and I've used it before In fact, I tried it last night but was unable to get into my phone past the boot password screen I think because the system ui kept crashing. while I have used this version, I may try twelve, since I prefer AOSP or LOS based roms, I want as light as possible maybe even removing google and going with MICRO G which I used fairly successfully for over a month, It isn't perfect, sometimes the location addon apps crash, but there are many, and it may just be that the ones I was using crashed, and not the ones you need yourself.. But MICRO G is worth the piece of mind to me coming from an encrypted phone, No I have nothing to hide really but Alphabet/Google already know enough about me through the use of their "FREE and Very Handy I might add, Services Ahem) By the way, Phoenix can be used with either an unlocked bootloader or safestrap if not.. Just get the right one.. I may end up going with a rooted deodexed TW rom, and add xposed to get the features I love from RR and other LOS based ROMS. With further ado, heres the link to the youtube instructional video I found, I really wish it was written out or could simple installed as a flashable zip which shouldn't be hard to make, but it is what it is for now.. And again seems correct to me if you don't want o go with a custom rom like Phoenix for kltevzw.
Well upon testing the Youtube link didn't play so here it is both Title for searching and another link. Install Galaxy S7 Touchwiz on S5! (Marshmallow) /URL]

I used Heimdal to flash to a more recent factory TW before flashing Phoenix which requires at least PB1. I think. Check their OP under user JKRUSE or near the top of the VZE dev thread.
This is Heimdal as found in synaptic from a buntu based distroand should be the same in any Debian based or any other distro for that matter as I've found it in many repos for different distro's, I think a ppa is available with newer builds, but don't hold me to that.
Heimdall <- commandline version.
Heimdall is a tool for flashing firmware (aka ROMs) onto Samsung Galaxy S
devices over a USB connection. It accomplishes this using the same
protocol as Odin, Samsung's internal Windows-only firmware updater.

And of course there's a GUI too.. heimdall-flash (1.4.1-2) unstable; urgency=medium
This package includes a Qt-based frontend for managing Galaxy devices.

If I do either agian soon, I'll report back with results. Again, I know Phoenix worked fine. But I'd imagine a plain TW rooted ROM that you debloat yourself and maybe add Xposed for many features found in Phoenix and in AOSP/LOS based ROM's such as RR/CR-DROID for those who prefer additional tweaking and other enhancements. Again I trouble just last night with the latest V15 of Phoenix on boot and don't know why other than my fully ecnypted device and password on boot feature But either way again if you test before me let me know the result as well. I do need a new battery for mine since it's the one it came with but that's a story for another thread, when I bought my S5 last spring for beans, (with the unlockable BL, I had to have it since my S3 had died. and I couldn't afford a new phone) and I could easily get a day plus when service is good with about 4+ hours SOT. But lately I'm using charging by the end of the day. Haven't decided yet on a stock Sammy battery or a more expesive, Thicker, heavier, but much longer lasting extended battery.
Sorry for such a long winded post. All my posts are this way if you know me. I do apologize and need to be more brief but I'm more of a lurker and searcher for what I need to know and post very seldom especially with this much what I think could be useful to someone.
If it happens to be useful please hit the "Thankss" button, it could help here, and even when looking for a job as I am... Hahahaha.. Getting laid off work blows in my area of the country.
Thanks and Happy New Year to all those who celebrate it during this time of year, if not Happy New Year when it arrives and I wish the best for everyone on the Planet. Stay informed and don't believe everything you read/hear/watch... #NoAgenda #ITM.
griz.
Finally managed to officially unlock bootloader, but since I started that process over 2 weeks ago, a lot has happened in the Rom and development forum. I was originally going for CM13, but I'm not longer sure if that's a good idea.
I mostly use my phone as a music player, and it runs most of the day while I'm at work. I occasionally send calls and text messages.
I got the RMN3 for the battery and significantly larger screen than what I had before. Phone plans in canada are god awful and as such I got literally no data on my plan, so outside of home wifi, I got no internet on it.
The reason I want a custom rom is mainly to remove bloat and improve battery life, and maybe add a few functions/ behaviours.
I don't really care about the fingerprint sensor, should it not work, but having the camera non-functional is a no-go.
I'm not really interested in constantly having to flash an update on my phone. I just want one good, stable rom with little to no bloat that will do what I'll ask it to, with a good battery life, without crashing. Updating once every month or so would be reasonable. I heard that Android 7(+) had some battery life improvements (Doze?) so I'm conflicted as to rom and android versions.
I'm pretty new to Android, and I'm completely overwhelmed by the many different types of roms, along with the many different versions of the same rom (Example: many CM14/14.1 builds).
There's a lot of guides, but most of them seem out of date.
Device: Global Dev, Kenzo
Any suggestions? (If possible, please also include which version of TWRP you would recommend)
I personnally own the Kate version and flashed the official CM13 ROM built for Kenzo on it.
Everything is working fine for me, including the fingerprint sensor and the camera.
I also use the phone to listen to music all day at work and it worked really well with good battery life.
About the TWRP version I used, honestly I don't remember very well since I tried a few and the reason was something to do with the Kate device I believe, so you may not have to use the same version of TWRP.

any stable rom with interactive gov
Hi, you mentioned stock ROM (not Cyanogen or Nexus experience, just stock). Where could I get that from?
I'm on beanstalk ROM (android 7.1) loving it!
Try krexus-CAF!
You could go for the official build of RR with Radon kernel
welcome to the race, mate
well if you want to improve battery life you are recomended to flash AOSP-Based roms . miui and cm-based roms have battery drain issue (i can't explain why, but i can say that because i tried them)
my recomendation would be Cardinal AOSP
try rr remix 5.7.4 with radon kernel...
After restarting it again install all setup , when restore setup come , it's restart again and again,
This problem comes after restart REDMI NOTE3
AFTER FACING ALL PROBLEM I DONE RESTORE FACTORY RESET AND AGAIN REINSTALL THEN IT WORKS BUT AFTER RESTARTING I FACING ABOVE PROBLEM AGAIN
Please give me solution
1 st your posting in development thread which is not the right place for your query.
2nd Which device have you this is for Mediatek devices and there is not a Pie rom for them.
3rd Look at PE Thread and you would see it is a problem with the rom, flashing the VoLTE patch fixes it. Or wait for rom update.
Oh dear - you've done goofed up - Hennessey-based devices (Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - MediaTek Edition) doesn't get anywhere near as much development as the Kenzo-Kate devices (Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Qualcomm Snapdragon 2GB/3GB RAM Editions), and Android Pie isn't even developed for the MediaTek version of the phone.

Don't go around asking for stuff, we don't get paid for this, you caused a problem, you're the one who needs to fix it, no one has any obligation to help.
That said, if you had read the thread instead of just downloading the ROM you'd have noticed tons of people with the same problem and all have been given the same solution, flash the VoLTE fix.
Also, you posted on the wrong forum, this one is for mediatek based devices.
Guys, don't mind to reply OP. This man doesn't know how to read properly

No you don't install Pixel Experience 9.0. It isn't available for this device (henessy).
If you have kenzo or kate, then you want the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 [Snapdragon] forum.
Post this was a reply to, got deleted.
hello from everyone, I recently bought a sm j6plus. turning on the forum I saw that the latest roms are old and out of date. has this phone been abandoned? if not what rom do you use?
Stay on stock, the custom roms are not elaborated enough nowadays. J6+ is not so popular, the scene is almost dead. The few devs are really brave, and we should be thankful for their job. But as an old user of custom roms, i advise you to stay stock. And dont just yet install Android 10.
:fingers-crossed:Hello, it is true that the j6 + is not very popular, but there is the ROM of Resurrection Remix Q, whose developer has little to have put it into operation. In my model SM-J610G it works very well, except if you use two SIM cards, it freezes if you try to deactivate one or the other. The developer promised to review it but that has been a week. I hope he can solve that problem, however the ROM is very stable. I will leave you the link so you can consult.
