Is there any advantage (apart from Xposed, which I am not interested in at all) in using a miui MM ROM instead of a miui Nougat ROM?
PS: my main concern is about battery life (especially in idle time) and no lags.

Most of the N roms don't lag so you are covered there . Battery well it depends on the user .

If you're concern about battery life. The answer is MM which can use Xposed, so you can use Greenify, Amplify, PowerNap, etc.

Thanks. I am concerned about battery life - however, I don't want to use a separate app to get better battery life!

Idk, now I am on LineageOS 13 6.0.1 MM and with Xposed battery life is even better. Maybe ROM with minimal customizations can make a difference with battery life such as LineageOS 14.1
Bought mine a week ago. I flashed halogenOS the very first day I got my device, so I don't really know how MM battery life compared to N.
But N has been performing really well for me in terms of battery life, I always get 10+ hours of SOT between charges with about 10% battery left with moderate usage (a lot of Youtube and a bit of gaming).
I don't use Greenify or any battery tweaks whatsoever.

Hi,
I should be getting a redmi note 2 prime any day now.
What rom would you all suggest to use on it ?
Has any one use www smiui net to cook a rom?
Do you have any issues with certain roms ? And do they all have gapps installed for playstore and chrome.
thank you all in advance

Dumb question, but is there any difference between the one you've linked and this one? AFAIK mine is the "official" one with only English/Chinese language, yours adds German, French etc etc?
http://en.miui.com/download.html
Yes, the rom on en.miui.com have only English and Chinese and no gapps, but it's official.
Xiaomi.eu rom have many languaged and gapps but it's unofficial

Awesome does it have gapps ?
thank you for all your help
I guess it doesnt have. I dont remember. Because I installed gapps for google Maps on opengapps.org. Dont remember to choose arm64.
Using miuipro for now.
http ://miuipro.ru/roms/
You can also use AOSP if you like stock android. I am currently using and everything works except HDR. Battery life is worse than miui but with exposed and a few tweaks you can improve it to >5h SOT and almost 0.01% phone idle drain (in 8 hours over night battery was at same level i left it ).

gapps, multi lang, and free paid theme, no bloatware.
No it doesnt include xposed or wsm.
For now xposed only works at AOSP base rom.

Which AOSP Rom and xposed module / tweaks are you using? There are many out there and i always test new ones, but none had a 0.01% idle drain. Most time it's 8% in 10h. SOT is the same everywhere, but i got 6h with my rom, but like i said, the idle drain is a bit too much for having great SOT all the time.

sAOSP and mostly amplify + greenify. About idle drain; i am not sure if it really is 0,01% (in battery stats it says like 20% idle drain but battery was as i left it 10 hours earlier), maybe i am wrong or something ? also i saw it on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-0-0-hour-idle-battery-drain-stock-t2973588 and seems to work. And how did you get 6h sot on your rom ? i can't get more than 4h .

Thanks i will try amplify. I really don't know how my phone could handle 6h and 10min sot. I just wanted to make a test and i didn't throttle my cpu or anyting. I was expecting 4h maybe 4 1/2 hours, but it just didn't want to go out of battery. At the beginning i surfed a bit in the internet and then played a few games, but after a few hours it was guite boring so i decided to let it play youtube videos for nearly an hour. Than the last half hour games again, with the hope, that the sot test ends here and it did. I was very surprised from the result. The only problem on my rom was the idle drain, even with woking deepsleep...

RR
stable...
all working...
good battery backup too ( 8:30 to 9:30 hrs SOT )
AICP!
Best performance, most stable, best battery backup and the huge customization features (which I love!).
For even more battery backup, use DS Battery Saver (from play store) and Radon Kernel with darkness governor on both big and LITTLE (set those with Kernel Adiutor).
See the battery percentage, it will never come down.
Another option for best battery and stability is Slim/Tipsy (Tipsy preferred for customisation). Use these ROMs with the same DS battery saver and the same kernel (Radon) with the same governors and expect even more battery life.
@rasik107
9 hrs SOT?!? That's overkill bro, maximum is 6 to 7 hrs SOT for most of the phones with the huge battery and screen.
But I dont mean RR is bad, it is good too but AICP holds a special place in my heart, don't know why!!!

Actually, I spend most of the battery on TWRP! (I am a Flashaholic!).
AFAIK, TWRP consumes 1% battery per minute or two.
My best is 8 hrs SOT.

Me 2 , but as of android - N roms are out...
waiting for stable build
now m on RR 5.7.4
I flashed a rom called nexus experience which appears to be based on cm13 for my kenzo 3gb
Everything works flawlessy but the battery is terrible it barely make half a day with medium usage
I tried greenfy, turned everything to the lowest but no difference
Is that a bug with nexus experience or all cm13 roms are the same.
Can you advise me with the best way to get maximum battery time
Thanks in advance
I have this ROM Nexus Experience 10.4 and battery backup is great and I have tried many ROMs.
I also use amplify module for nlp (allow every 600sec)
I get like 10hours of SOT, but info in battery stats is not showing correct..

I am using Resurrection Remix 16/04 build for a month now. I am getting 5-5.5 hours of screen on time. But I need to charge it in the evening for it be usable. It was not the case in MIUI. Is battery life better in MIUI ? Which custom rom is best for battery life ? I am not a heavy user just social media, youtube etc.
I used Nitrogen OS Oreo and battery was bad. I reverted to last miui stable and battery now is good.

Yeah same I am also thinking of going back to MIUI. There the battery life is good and I am facing LTE signal fluctuation every now and then on all custom roms. Don't know if its a common bug.

You can check [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][8.1.0][kenzo] LineageOS 15.1[Nightlies]. I've moved to this ROM from NOS 8.1, when SOT times were decreasing (3-4 hours, even of WiFi) and I'm quite surprised with SOT on LOS. Please keep in mind, this SOT is only linked to WiFi - I didn't used mobile data at all with this charge. I'm using latest Agni kernel.
I can also post statistics using mixed usage (WiFi + mobile data) someday, if you are interested.

Hi guys,
I'm a new Poco user. I've checked out the forums and saw lots of ROMs, Kernels and even Recovery software. I'm a bit overwhelmed for the first time as I'm liking stock MIUI 10 for now. Can someone enlighten me on which ROM has the most features, what ROM is the most stable, which kernels go best with which?
Stability: BaikalOS, Pixel Experience
Powersave: BaikalOS
Customizability / Extra Features: Resurrection Remix, crDroid, Havoc-OS / POSP
Performance: Nitrogen OS, crDroid
Pixel Like: Havoc-OS, Pixel Experience
These are the ones I know but haven't tested all of them. Tell me if I'm missing any.

Wow thanks. Does BaikalOS have the app cloning feature? How good is the battery life compared to MIUI 10?
best kernels
Sphinx and Franco kernel
Best roms
Lineage and stock
Stock is of course the most stable, but the beta builds always have bugs they always remove settings add settings fix something break something.

It doesn't have the app cloning and battery life is a lot better if you manage the background apps strictly but you still have to install it and test it yourself.

There is no best rom or best kernel, it all comes down to personal preference...
Lineage Pie with Franco kernel.
..and go with pixel experience only if u r into very stock version which I think is overrated given its customization limitations.
I have always hated chinese ROMs or apps, take MIUI for example they have like hundreds of apps injected into core system (miui security, miui contacts, miui dialer, miui messaging, miui this that and what not...)

Hi fellow Flip! Yeah I went with Ambasidii rom based on stock MIUI since I need the cloned app feature for ROM (Slave priest). It's rooted and has derp kernel. Battery life is quite a lot better. I was redownloading all my apps overnight and it only drained about 7% of battery life which is 1% more than full stock on idle without WiFi.
By the way, do you do a battery recalibration once you switch roms? Standby time is fantastic on mine but it seems to drain a little harder while playing ROM compared to stock.

There's no need to recalibrated when switching roms. Recommended calibrating your battery ( each month or every three months )
android phones this days use lithium-ion (Li-ion) or lithium-polymer (Li-po) batteries for Poco F1 . This batteries don’t need to be fully discharged, and come with smart chips that make calibration unnecessary and that's the good thing for us.
Just want to share this method , i do this all the time after switching custom roms.
First, drain your phone’s battery completely. Don’t charge it at any point while it’s draining. Let the phone keep working till it shuts itself off. Once the phone has shut itself off, restart it so it shuts off again. Even though the battery was at 0 percent, it has a few reserves left. Now, while the phone is off, charge it to 100 percent. It’s safe to use quick chargers for this, but make sure you hit 100 percent. Once it’s fully charged, unplug it and boot your phone. Android might not say it’s at 100 percent, and that’s okay. In that case, plug the charger again and let it get to 100 percent. then unplug it. This cycle of full drain and recharging lets the chip calibrate its readings with the battery’s charge cycle.
hope that helps:good:
