Hey guys,
So really in need of a little help. My OnePlus X started acting strange when it refused to take charge when it was booted into OS (Lineage). However, I noticed that if the phone was off, it would boot immediately upon connecting a cable. So it seemed as if nothing was wrong with the port or the cable (tried various cables and chargers). A little more digging revealed that the phone charges in Fastboot mode. Anyway, I decided to factory reset it and for some reason it was stuck in a boot loop.
I then tried to restore back to stock using Mega Unbrick Guide which worked in the past. Now my problem is that its stuck in fastboot, wont boot into the OS. I can boot to the recovery and fastboot. In recovery when I choose Install from local, i get no browser to search the SD for zip files, nor does the phone detect for me to use adb sideload.
Any ideas as to why this is so?
Thanks!

First off id like to say thanks in advance to any replies and also apologize if this has been posted previously (i searched and could not find anything that was helpful) I lurked around these forums when i had my x1 and im hoping you guys can be as helpful for me as you are for everyone else. anyway onto the issue
I used the superboot method to root my ATT US Streak. My intentions were to update to 2.1 following the steps in the "eclair working on my u.s. unlocked streak!" thread (wont let me put a link since its my first post)
after using fastboot to root the phone will boot up and function fine but recovery and fastboot no longer work. i tried flashing Koush's custom recovery and other things that require fastboot and the terminal just says "sending..." nothing happens no errors or anything, the cmd prompt just sits there and i need to remove the battery to reboot the device.
i then downloaded the Rom Manager apk from the market and flashed the clockwork recovery from there (it said i did anyway). when i load the recovery from boot (volume keys + power and its the stock recovery) and chose option 2 to flash modaco custom rom or even the stock dell rom it just goes to a black screen and i once again need to remove the battery to reboot.
the phone itself is still functioning fine when it boots up and everything works the way it should other than the home, menu, and back button lights flash in random orders, thats just annoying though. again any help is appreciated
so what should i try next?
EDIT: woke up this morning and now the device will not turn on. i tried starting to fastboot and recovery but still nothing. plug it into my pc and i get the "found new hardware wizard" for a Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM.
first real brick? ha that would be my luck
EDIT 2: a kid just ran through my work, grabbed my phone and threw it on the ground. it screwed up the 30 pin connector on the phone and the charger. im going to hurt somebody. phone is booting again though... put sd card back in and still boots fine
SOLVED: Dont know the technical reasons behind it but i had to reinstall the drivers and switch usb ports for every fastboot and recovery procedure
removed SD card and its booting up normally. any thoughts?
There's a TL;DR at the end !
Hi - I hope you will be able to help me !
I have a XT910 Motorola Razr from Rogers in Canada.
I've had a Nexus S for a long time and I guess I wasn't prepared for a phone that wasn't as friendly to modding and flashing.
Before trying to flash a version of CM10 found here in the forums, I installed CWM Touch and made a nandroid backup - standard stuff.
What I didn't realize until it was too late is that booting into recovery DOES NOT boot CWM Touch - but rather the regular android one - the one that does not allow you to do much other than to factory reset.
I found out about RSD Lite but not until my battery wasn't charged enough and couldn't do anything about the phone.
I searched for the longest time on a LOT on different forums about how I could fix this and resorted to getting a factory cable - which works.
So, now, I can flash stuff using fastboot. Great, right ? Well, I still can't get things working.
RSD Lite doesn't detect my phone, and I believe that's because ADB doesn't detect it as well - so I tried that alternative way to flash fastboot files provided by the eternity project.
I've tried various fastboot packages but to no avail.
The best I can do is to get past the motorola logo - then black screen. Otherwise, I get boot or flash failures and get sent back to fastboot.
When the phone is on the black screen and that I plug a USB cable to my phone, Windows sees the device but it doesn't recognize it - I assure you I've tried all the different drivers to try and get it to work. Nothing.
Worth mentioning - I often get errors "Preflash validation failure" when trying to flash stuff.
I really feel I could fix this issue by flashing an IMG version of CWM touch or some other sort of recovery so that I can recover using a nandroid but they are no where to be found ! I can't believe that all recovery options are installed by APKs.
Any ideas ?
TL;DR, XT910 went boot looping after trying to flash CM10 - resorted to getting a factory cable and even then, can't get the phone back into working condition. Phone is detected by fastboot but not ADB.
Thanks !
first... the battery is the problem
this article can help...
How to Boot your Phone on Low Battery with Fastboot Flash Failure
To boot your phone on low battery where you get stuck on fastboot flash failure, hold down Volume Up and Volume Down then plug in “AC” USB charger to your Droid Razr. This will give you the bootloader menu upon where you can choose “Normal Recovery” to boot. If your phone doesn’t boot here, it will at least re-charge the battery normally instead of being stuck on fastboot flash failure which will re-charge your phone “very very slowly”.
I was trying to flash a ROM (not sure exactly which one - I did this like a month or two ago) but I did something wrong and the phone is now in a boot loop. It gets to HTC logo and reboots constantly. When I try booting into recovery, it show CWM on the screen for a split second and then reboots (back into the bootloop). I am, however, able to get into fastboot. It says "tampered" and "unlocked" at the top. It's hboot version 1.44. When I select the factory reset or recovery option, it goes back into the bootloop.
I have read several posts about connecting it to a computer and using adb to reset it while in fastboot but I can't do that. Whenever I connect it to a computer, the phone does not get recognized on the computer whatsoever. When I plug it in, it starts charging but nothing happens on the computer. I have tried installing the drivers on multiple PCs (both Windows 7 and 8) and I have tried using several different USB cables. This was the case long before it was stuck in the boot loop too so it's not a new issue. It just doesn't get recognized on a computer. I've tried going into device manager and everything, nothing shows up. Is there any way I can fix this issue since I seemingly can't use adb?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hey guys. i just bought the tablet for 1 month now. Everything was okay then suddenly the tablet rebooted it self and will go the homescreen for few seconds then rebooted it self again and again. i tried to reset it via the asus fastboot option menu. that did the trick for a while..i can boot it normally then after reinstalling all my apps, it started to keep rebooting again. resetting it again does not work. all it does is go to the setup wizard and reboot again.
Another interesting fact is that it can boot for a while only when plugged in. i can use it but will shut down if i pulled the charge cable.
The way i see it, i can be the battery problem or software problem.
If it is a problem with the battery, then why can it boot to the fastboot option menu without plugged in?
I've downloaded the factory image from the asus website but i dont know how to flash it as the bootloader is locked and i cant find any method to unlock it. Adb detected the device in fastboot. but i cant flash the firmware,
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Thank you in advance.
attached is the content of the firmware ive downloaded from asus website and the asus fastboot option menu..there is no recovery option.
Hi all,
I recently installed Lineage 14.1 on my XT912 using safestrap, I decided that I wanted a larger Gapps package than pico, so I went to reinstall lineage and Gapps.
I was doing this away from home with a Linux PC instead of my normal windows one, and I ended up not being able to push over the larger Gapps file.
Then I did a really dumb thing that I didn't know would be a problem at the time, I restarted the device before reinstalling Lineage.
So I had softbricked it.
Then I tried using RSD lite to flash the stock XT912 ROM, but I ended up finding out that it would fail unless I erased the partitions I was trying to write to, so I went and erased every partition
including the boot partition.
When I went back to flash it I found that the battery had dropped below 80%, so fastboot no longer let me flash it.
So not knowing that I absolutely could not turn it off now that I had erased the boot partition, I went and disconnected the battery and soldered my Li-Po charger to the battery so I could charge it manually manually.
Stupid me.
When I went and tried to boot into fastboot I got a black screen and when I plugged the phone into my PC it would just keep throwing USB errors while disconnecting and reconnecting over and over again.
I'm pretty dang sure it's hardbricked now, but it there's anyone out there who has a solution to this, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks,
-Alec
