Back when I used to use the SPB 3D Shell launcher, there were a couple widgets that it had that I really liked. They were the favorite contact widget and the messaging widget. When you tapped either of them they would open into a 3D carousel and you could scroll thru them like a round card catalog. Now that SPB has fallen by the wayside I was wondering if anybody knows of a favorites and/or messaging widget that works the same way?

Interested in this as well.
Seems it's impossible to use HTC Widgets with any launcher app - shame

Well. There is a few widgets that looks like sence ones.
Wether Forecast has a flipklock that looks just like the sence one. Works perfect. (not in market anymore beacuse some argument with htc..)
Pure Grid Calendar works just fine and looks somewhat near the sence one. I use the android calendar widget/Astrid and prefer these two.
All the once you cant fint in market- register at ppcwarez.org and serch there forum. Almoast anything worth it you can find there

there's some alternatives to the HTC widgets in the market. I use Smooth Calendar it's a 4x1 widget. for the filp clock checkout Weather Forecast&Clock widget. If you have paid app you could also get Beautiful Widgets it's one dollar.
In my experience you want to use Sense as little as possible to keep you phone running as fast as possible.
I am trying to get away from sense for obvious reasons. I'm only missing the friendstream, news, twitter scrollable widgets. Shopping revealed Pure Messenger/News widget as a viable option. Although to be useful to me it needs to be scrollable.
-Running CM7 nightlies #130
-ADW Launcher stock with CM7
-Verizon Droid Incredible 2
-Rooted, obviously.
Pure Messenger states that ADW is supported, but scrollable widgets must be enabled and it isn't currently. I find no setting for scrollable widget enable and the documentation for this version (latest) doesn't list it. However a previous version had a setting from what I find online. Maybe the non CM7 version?
Anyone have a solution for pure messenger or alternative app? I'm certain many people running CM7 desire these widgets so there must be a solution but a search didn't reveal anything within 6 months.
Note: I was having this same issue with other phones, and other launchers [read: go launcher, launcher pro], so this should apply to everyone. Including me when I buy the Galaxy Nexus upon release.

I love colorize widgets and android pro widgets (both very similar and have a nice timeline feature with the paid versions) adw does support scrolling widgets but I'm not sure if you need the ex version for that(that's the version I have) I also don't see a setting for it but both my colorize widgets and android pro widgets scroll automatically

I gave up on the Pure Widgets and went with Colorize. Scrolling works fine and I got the paid version and it looks really nice.
I thought the Pure Widgets were the most popular which would lead to less bugs and better support but obviously not.
Now the only problem is Colorize doesn't have a RSS feed selector or news widget like sense but I think I can get around it with customizing Google RSS feeds.
Thanks for the reply.

Ok, somebody should explain the need for scrollable widgets, or indeed most widgets, to me.
You swipe homescreens to get to the one you want, e.g Calender, Twitter.. and then you scroll it to find what you want etc...
Why not just open the Twitter or Calender app instead?
This sums up my pet peave with Android really. So much bloat. So much unnecessary carp. Why do one thing well when you can do it three different ways, badly.
I'm still not sold on the idea of multiple homescreens, in fact i'm as perplexed by the notion now as i was three years ago. Android has an app drawer. It has shortcuts for every app within. Open app drawer, select shortcut, use app! Why would i need shortcuts all over my homescreen?
And while i'm busy derailing the thread with my rant, what's with the honking great clocks and weather on the homescreens? There's a clock in the status bar and the weather is right outside. Use a window!
Obviously i'm in the minority here so i'll just crawl quietly back into my minimalistic hole. Good to get it off the chest though!
Okay from playing around with ROMs on my 4g (I haven't rooted my 3D yet), I have learned that I prefer AOSP rather than Sence. For now I just loaded ADW because I like the 5 icon dock. However there is one widget I REALLY like, the clock. I know there are a couple on the market that have the time and weather, but the thing I really liked about the HTC clock is that in addition to time and weather, it had alarms, timers and countdown timers. I know I can get an app for the alarms, timers and countdown, but I like the HTC and I like it being all in the one widget.
I guess what I am asking is, is there a way to get (through a similar app/widget or custom ROM) HTC clock working with a 5 icon dock bar?

No need to switch ROM's.
Sure download "fancy widgets" it has a clock widget just like the stock one then download "alarm clock extreme" and you will have all your features back. Although I think you can still use the htc clock app without the widget. I currently use no sense and ADW with fancy widgets and the stock clock.apk that came with the phone. Fancy widgets even let you assign an app to open when clicking on any of the sections of the widget. You can customize all kinds of visual stuff on it also. Hope this helps.
Someone has got to have made this but I can't seem to find it. I'm using a "hubs" layout (one screen for social media, one for productivity etc) and I'd like to essentially have a horizontally scrollable launcher widget on each screen with apps that make sense for that hub.
Currently using simi folder widget which is cool, but I'd prefer the launcher bar that is activated by clicking on the folder to live in a widget right on the home screen.
Could anybody point me to a widget app like this? I'm pretty sure I saw a video where someone had this but didn't see details on what they were using. Thanks!
Edit: sorry if this would have been better posted in themes and apps. Please move if necessary.

If I'm understanding you then what you're looking for is a dock that can display icons that are specific to the current page? Something close would be Nova launcher which provides a scrollable dock. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it!

Thanks, I'm currently using Apex and I really like it. I don't want just 1 dock (no matter how many pages on it you can scroll through). I want a different set of apps in a horizontally scrolling launcher bar widget. Then I could put an instance of this widget on each of my homescreens with different apps in each one. Then when I swipe from my "Office" homescreen to my "Photo" or "Video" homescreens this "launcher" widget has the appropriate apps for that hub. Hopefully that makes sense.
Like I said, simi folder widget is pretty good for this kind of setup, but I thought there might be a better solution out there.
Guys, this is really doing my head in. I downloaded Playlist Shortcuts for Spotify and I can create a shortcut to a Spotify Playlist on my regular homescreen (HTC Mate M9). However this phone is installed in my car and I run Automate Car Launcher.
Ive downloaded a bunch of different floating side bars and apps like Assistive Android/Touch Pro etc but there seems no way to add this kind of shortcut to them.
On my S7 Edge, using Edge TaskBar, you can add a homescreen short cut. But for the life I've me I can find nothing in the playstore that enables you to add a homescreen shortcut to it.
Is there any sneaky way to add a homescreen shortcut into the standard shortcut list in Android?
Or can I use Tasker to somehow make this shortcut look like an App?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks Kindly
