Hi
i have a Xiaomi Redmi 3 on stock global rom. I am with TalkMobile in the UK and it works fine. I am on holiday in Ibiza and I cannot connect to any networks at all. I tried manually selecting network and all the listed networks say 'forbidden'.
My contract allows roaming so I am assuming it has to be a setting or issue with the phone. Can anyone help?
Thank you
We have the same problem on my wife's Xiaomi mi5, on a BT SIM, so it is almost certainly a Xiaomi issue/setting. Can anyone please help? I really need my phone this week... Thanks

Hello, this is my first post on the forums here.
Iv'e purchased a Xiaomi Redmi 3 last week. It turned on fine and after the first turnoff-turn on it simply didn't turn on again and was stuck on the mi logo.
Iv'e downloaded the latest stable chinese rom and flashed using miflash and the phone started working properly again.
The problem is I do not have a cellular signal. It's either non existent (empty bars marked with 'x'), empty bars or one or two bars at most. Even when there are bars I cannot receive or make any calls (when i call the phone it just rings and the nothing happens).
The sim card itself is new (micro), the phone is new. I tried contacting the cellular company and they said everything is fine on their side, also iv'e tried the sim card on another device and it worked. I tried fiddling with different settings like changing from preferred lte to prefer 3g, adding new vpn, changing the sim card settings through the phone from WCDMA, only LTE so on and so forth and nothing worked.
Iv'e read around the forums here about the whole bootloader unlock, rooting, dev roms. I'm a newbie when it comes to these things and don't know weather I should do there and if it would help my problem.
Oh and last thing, I also verified that the device 3g/4g networks are compatible with the cellular companies in my country (same ones).
Thanks in advance,
Maybe there's a problem with ur set. I didn't root nor unlock the bootloader and reception has been fine for me from the start.

So you think it might be a faulty phone?
EDIT: I don't know if this helps or connected to my issue but i have this notification at the top saying "your SIM card isn't activated". I can't link to the pic since i'm a new user.
No one knows how to fix my problem?
I've got a similar problem I think.
I searched until I found that while flashing my IMEIs got lost and so the phone can't register to the networks.
Now I continue searching how to restore the IMEIs...

Hi,
I recently got my Redmi Note 3 from a reseller on AliExpress (Goldway) but for some reason the WiFi does not work on my phone when connecting to university networks which are secured with 802.1xEAP.
It is a very weird issue actually. It seems to work on some parts of campus and not on others and it used to work completely fine before. I've asked the IT dept and they said they can't do anything about it. I'm on MIUI Global Stable as well and was on Global Dev before but nothing works. I've tried like 3 factory resets, CM13, Santhosh CM and NXExperience but nothing worked. I have no clue what to do anymore. I can provide logs later as well. Just pulling it out.
Hopefully someone can finally help me resolve this stupid issue. Thanks!
PS: 802.1x - PEAP - MSCHAPV2 (2nd Phase Auth)
few days before i rooted my redmi note 4 , when i reboot the phone i found that jio 4g sim is showing NO SERVICE. i replaced with new jio sim but same problem, even i did all the settings correctly. then i tried airtel 2g/3g it worked fine. i flashed my phone many times with all global roms of different versions, also i flash modem but still nothing happened. so i need some help, please tell me what should i do now?????
Well if you have tried a different SIM from Jio itself and different roms, it should mean that there's probably no 4G connection available where you are.
I have a RN4 (Germany) and I have zero issues with connecting to 4G networks here, even from the prepaid SIMs.
I just got the latest version of MIUI on the Note 9S. No root, stock global rom. However, I cannot make or receive calls or texts unless I just restart my phone, then I can do it for a few minutes. After that, I cannot send and receive again.
My phone has B4 and B7 bands, which are needed for the network in my country, and the phone i had before has the same bands and worked fine with the provider, so it is not an issue of connectivity. I have 3-4 bars all the time.
Wondering if anyone else has this issue.

I have a similar issue. I can't receive calls or text. I can call, though. Were you able to fix your problem?
I had Vodafone (the carrier from which I bought the sim card) change my Sim card. It worked for a while receiving calls but it doesn't no more.
Please, let me know if you found a solution.
I swapped to pixel experience and switched to a provider with more compatible bands. That seems to have solved the issue. MIUI sucks for notifications, and the note 9s just doesn't have the hardware for some north american providers

Thank you for the answer.
I still don't know what the problem is, though. I can not change phone, right now, nor the provider.
I do think that maybe the network is not working propertly with the phone system (MIUI) and, somehow, this is messing with the SIM configuration.
I am running out of options so I would appreciate any feedback.
Hi guys.
Is there any rom which has Vowifi(wifi calling) for redmi note 3 kenzo or is wifi calling something hardware related and not possible to get on this mobile?
Does wifi calling need to be supported for particular device models by cellular service providers because if that is true then the cellular service providers in my country dont show redmi note 3 in supported devices on their websites and i cant get it or is there a workaround to trick them into thinking this is some other device which is supported?
Thanks in advance.

I was the proud owner of a Kenzo for many years (in the UK) but after I moved home to a very weak mobile signal area I spent many hours searchinfg for a VoWiFi solution without success - so I reluctantly recently sold it :- (
I learned that MIUI never incorporated the necessary code into the firmware (this is not the ROM). And I never could find a developer that had been prepared to modifiy the code to allow VoWiFi. Also note the modification has to be compatible with the networks in your country.
You will see many recent custom Kenzo ROMs with VoWiFi switches - but it will not work without the non existent firmware mod.
Sorry.
