Very curious to know what changes occured for the new dash car charger.. OnePlus pulled it months ago, and as of the op5 launch it's available. Any insight from fellow XDA members?

Yes, I had mentioned that above. What I'm wondering is why they discontinued it, and then re released it?

is it compatible for G1 Dream?
Something else to propose?
I don't believe its compatible. I looked this up a while ago and discovered that the Dream doesn't have support for it.

even if is written that is compatible with hero and magic?
Nope, it doesn't work. I bought one before only to have it prompty returned and refunded because it said it worked with the G1, which it didn't.

Not sure if i need to buy a special charger required for this model or what. Can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction? all help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

I purchased one on amazon and had no such issues with slow charging. It was awhile back so I don't remember exactly which one I got. It was just a generic charger labeled for use with Samsung.

Well, that was pretty clear
I was hoping to discover another feature I did not care about when buying the phone.
Is there any method to add this capability without hacking the thing open?

Get a mophie or some other wireless charging/extra battery case for it.. it'll obviously definitely add to the size/weight of the phone tho over a standard case.. I wouldn't get the cheap chinese one's off ebay tho, horrible things that don't last long at all.

I know this is a late post but have you ever used one of the "cheap chinese one's"? I've heard there were pretty good and I haven't heard of any of them not lasting. Just wondering.

Yeah ive tried 2-3 different Chinese ones, although admittingly they were for my iPhone and not the HTC one. They were great for the first month or two and then and then they all started having issues. 1 would fail to charge ever again regardless of charger, another failed to hold a charge for longer than ~4hrs, another would constantly cycle charging on/off while switched on and trying trying to charge the phone. Just had a bad experience overall and waiting a month+ for RMA is a bit much. Much better to get a legit one for these reasons at a place where you can RMA in your own country if you ever need it.

Ah! Lol my bad, the wireless qi chargers work fine, haven't had any issues with those ^^

Well, you can go ahead. However, the "chip" will need to be placed inside the phone's body or you could buy a cover(a thin one) and use that as a placeholder for it.
It will charge as normal then.

Instead of risking it and opening the phone, I'd recommend putting the pad under a case.

I finally stopped calling Moto a couple of years ago about getting the battery replaced, which is the only thing wrong with my watch. It appears there is nowhere on the face of the earth where that can be done. Does anyone have any leads? I find it hard to believe there's no option.
It's a 5 y.o. device.
Just drop it and get a new one.
It will be better anyway.

I've had newer others since, but still miss the Moto, and Wear OS

Get the battery model number and go from there.
There's got to be one you can jam in there or solder in. If you wuv it -that- much.
Aliexpress/alibaba has batteries the only issue is the internal name, basically each model can have two different batteries like mine is the 46mm and there are two variants. Not sure why Motorola did this. Like mine was FW3S for a moto Sport 46mm.
I did get a new battery from China and a new display too and made the swap by myself. It looks brand new now even though I switched to Apple shortly after. Time by time I still turn it on and charge it so it is preserved
