The most weird bootloop Ever - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was just listening music and chatting on whatsapp when the bootloop happened. I heard it was most common when the device was heatting too much. My device was cool af. I didn't even play games on my V10 just to prevent bootloop. Anyway, is there anything I can do about it? When I changed the battery it booted up, and it was okay for 3-4 minutes and then again. Same thing with the other battery(I have 3batteries). And here I was looking forward to Nougat . Any suggestions? Thanks

before it bootloop's your phone freezes or what?! if yes is a "common bootloop" because even with your phone cool it could happen...if your phone doesnt freeze and reboot after maybe you can fix it just flashing the phone again with Uppercut...
try to connect the phone to your pc with volume uo key pressed when insert the cable to pc and keep it pressed until you see firmware update screen, if it does that you have 50% of chance to get it to work again just byy flash the firmware.

Take it back to stock rooted and see if you still have errors. If your saying your having this problem on every ROM then it could just be your phone. I've never had a problem and I flash all kinds of ROMs.

setcpu cause freeze issue in somecases and also swiftkey may give you troubles that I saw from other posts. If your phone is a gsm, returning to stock maybe your best option at the moment anyway.
my phone is cdma sprint service
Mine is stock everything, and I get this freezing issue once in awhile. But its like only the screen responses freeze. Meaning if I try to scroll down on a web page, or sideways on the main screen...it won't do anything. But if i press the apps button, or other "buttons" on the screen... it senses it.
Well I took off setcpu and its been working fine so far going to give it a few hours and see what happens it just sucks I paid for setcpu

I am having this same issue. I have tried several different ROMs and kernels with the same result of the screen doing its own thing and the buttons becoming unresponsive at the bottom until I turn off the screen with the bottom on the top of the phone, which then allows the buttons at the bottom to be responsive again until the problem starts again.
I have also updated my firmware minus HBoot (2.08.651.2 Firmware Minus hBoot.zip) with the same results.
Any suggestions?
I too am having major problems. at first i thought it was just MIUI but no matter what rom i flash my buttons are unresponsive its hard to even unlock my phone like it just doesnt register that im touching it. Ive never had any problems like this it started yesterday while picking a song from a playlist. i would give more detailed information but i cannot get to my settings.
I'm having this issue. Random freezing. I have to pull the battery to reset. Very annoying. This is my third replacement for asurion (after I cracked my screen). I hate this.
I Was having Freeze Problems but Not Lately... If you try the AndroTECH Rom you Might have a little Better Luck...

[Q] my.phones issue.

For the last two days my phone has been anything off at random... nothing has been changed... I'm on the cm9 nightly from the two days ago... this is the thing tho... If I gentely tap the phone it will shut off or shake it... so I figured maybe after time the batter is lose... but it also is turning off if it sits completely still...unless its playing music. It has not turned off since Round 8 ad I have just had it playing music this full time ...any ideas??
I already did a full wipe and re install and when I get home I'm going to Oden back to stock and redo everything.

My only suggestion at this point is odin back to stock 2.1.
Unfortunately this sounds like symptoms of hardware failure. I had a phone (cliq) which would do the exact thing as you described...the phone would vibrate shut off and reboot unexpectedly. I would open the physical keyboard and it would also shut off...this is totally hardware related from my understanding. But that is the worst case scenario.
Hopefully it is a software related issue in your case. Not much else i can say.

Overclocked? Voltages changed at all from default? If you have anything set in voltage control or setcpu, get rid of them and try it. You could also try booting into recovery and see if you can reproduce the problem. That should also help determine if it is software or hardware related.
If the phone is plugged in it does not seem to reboot. i have not had time to mess with it i will check it out this weekend. Weird because it only seems to be doing this at work? I have not had it restart on me at all while at home.
Also if i have the music playing it will not turn off. This weekend im going to oden back to stock and see how it goes. otherwise gonna try to deal with it long enough till the gs3 comes out, ha.

Help. My phone is stuck in a boot loop

So I was charging my phone, and it restarted itself and now it's stuck in a bootloop!
I can't access download mode or recovery, it keeps restarting before I have the opportunity to press any buttons (hardware or on screen) and removing the battery does nothing either, as soon as I put the battery back in, the phone resets without me even pushing the power button
I'm using Temasek CM11 v8 with the "201113-1248-cm11-i9300-r3p2-linux30101-BOEFFLA-temasek" kernel
Is it recoverable?
I've managed to get it into both Recover and Download mode briefly, but both times the phone restarted within a few seconds back to the bootloop
Sounds like the power button is shorted out, fairly cheap repair if so.

Thanks for the reply. What makes you think that it's the power button shorting?
Holding power button for 5 seconds acts as a hard reset, everywhere.
That's a good starting point actually. There's no reason for download mode to reboot automatically. If it loaded then it waits for the events. Either it works until you do anything with a PC, or doesn't work at all.
hi
try using a universal battery charger and then try again

Ah Well I suppose that makes it pretty conclusive. 2 hours later and it's still bootlooping... I'd take it apart but I don't really know what i'm looking for and I suspect if it's shorting, something will need replacing or soldering etc. Thanks very much

The issue of having it shortly resetting once reinstalled the battery sounds to me like a hardware failure, most probably hard resetting all the time.
A hardware repair should help fix this.

It's funny you say that, after hours and hours of trying to get my phone to work, somehow through more luck than judgement I managed to get it into recovery and flash WanamLite 7.2 (I figured it was the next best thing to stock, as I couldn't access download mode) and well... since then, touch wood my phone hasn't restarted itself even once... now granted in that time i've only touched the power button once, to turn on the device, but it seems like progress to me
So my question is, is it possible that I could of had a bad flash or something? It seems too coincidental to me, and I don't actually think the different ROMs have anything to do with the problem (that is still lingering beneath I suspect), but the optimist in me REALLY wants it to be fixed haha
EDIT: Oh and thank you tweetatoo for your reply

Possible its the well known multipleromflashed problem .

Interesting, thanks. It's just a bit confusing, it seems plausible because I flashed the ROM earlier in the day but at the same time, im not sure how much control the new ROM would have over the phone entering Download Mode... Mind boggling.
I'll keep an eye on it for a bit... and im still too scared to use the power button haha
Thanks very much
Download mode is entirely separate to the rom, I still think your power button shorted out (stuck down) as it's been reported many times before. If you have warranty then now would be the time to triangle away and return to stock for a while, just in case.

[Help] My phone restarts

Well, I have a problem and would like to help me, will tell you.
Yesterday I was using my phone normally as usual, I was listening to music and texting suddenly trailed off alone, and now I just reaches the logo of Samsung Galaxy CyanogenMod and restarts and does the same and will not start, only goes up there and restarts.
What happened? I have not installed anything weird, I have not done anything unusual.
I have the room CyanogenMod 10 Rooted, had never given me problems until yesterday.

My first guess would be your power button going bad, because random reboots like you described (especially on stable, older roms) just don't appear out of nowhere.

[Q] repeatedly crashing n rebooting

hi all, as the title says my hox + is repeatedly crashing n rebooting. this has been happening since yesterday. the hox was fine in the morning and then randomly started playing up in the afternoon. the phone is completely stock n locked. its not the power button as when I enter fastboot the phone stays on n doesn't even freeze. it went flat after a while so I left it to completely flatten over night. its been on charge for a while now n its still rebooting even without me turning it on, it turns on by itself.....freezes.....then reboots.
any ideas guys?
really don't want to pay for insurance again n I now know it takes takes 2 weeks to replace a lost phone so god knows how long it will take them to look at a phone
"pay for insurances AGAIN"?
Does this happen randomly? Or it happens all the time? If you will be enough desperate, you can always try a factory reset as this looks like a software bug.

yeh ive tried factory reset in fastboot and also erased cache command. im going to try a rom now ive got it to stay off n charge. it will only stay off selecting power down quickly, if I select power off in bootloader it restarts. it does seem like software though as it doesn't auto reboot in recovery or bootloader
well a new rom ddnt work.....n of course I cant find an ruu anywhere

you can try increasing the voltage for the CPU...
does it show something on its screen when it reboots?
cant do anything. it would boot up fully...then freeze after 5 secs or so then reboot and do the same again. Ive claimed for a new phone now tho. I couldn't find an ruu after trying a new rom so insurance repair wasn't going to happen. the phones gone now n hopefully a replacement will come soon. guessing I had a bad refurb last time iclaimed
