Hi, everyone. I'm a noob in custom ROM installing or Android in general so obviously my first try ended badly.
Device is LG Nexus 5 (just 5, not 5x,5p or whatnot). I chose LineageOS 14.1 to install, and followed all the steps.
OS itself installed, I believe, correctly (atleast without any errors during install), but Google Apps don't install at all.
I tried, like, every single option on opengapps dot org (choosing "ARM" platform and "7.1" Android) and there's always this message in TWRP log during install: "NO changes were made to your device".
I tried to download GApps manually afterwards, from the phone, but it's not the solution: Google Play Services are constantly crashing and connection with Google Account is interrupting.
I hope you can help me :crying:
UPD. Problem solved. There was not enough system memory

I have tried all the fixes I've seen in the forums. Nothing is working.
I have: Verizon HTC One M9, s-off, rooted, CM 13 (07/12/16). I put on this morning and all seems fine. Then I tried flashing the GApps nano package from https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_himawl, which told me to go to: http://opengapps.org/?api=6.0&variant=nano. I first tried the ARM but it would not install so I tried the ARM-64. It Did install and Gapps seems to be working fine technically...but it keeps crashing (Meaning play store works). I keep getting an error that says "Unfortunately Google Play Services has stopped" and if I look at the dump it starts with "java.lang.securityexception" and location provider requires ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION permission, on the file com.google.android.gms.
Of course I tried enabling not just location but all the permissions and it has no effect.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you very much.
Joe
FIXED:
What I did: First, I introduced a bunch of new variables at once which is not the best thing to do normally but I needed to get it done if possible. The basic theory was just "reinstall everything with a tweak."
1.) Use this to put TWRP and CM back on (ie. pretend like you're starting from scratch). Use the latest build of CM so it doesn't have to update.
2.) Every time you get a chance, delete the DVLIK cache and regular cache.
3.) As soon as CM is done installing, install the Gapps package right over top of it without rebooting. Kill the caches again. And yes I used the 64bit ARM version for the "HTC One M9 Verizon."
Reboot...and you should get the Google assistant. It seems like CM wanted that package at first-run possibly.
Hello guys,
I have noticed that many ROM users, mainly Cyanogenmod 13 and 14 are having problem with Google Play Services during initial setup, being required to install pico or nano gapps to use the ROM. After several attempts and modifications, I finally found the problem, and how to solve it, easy.
1 Make a flash of a ROM of your choice, don't flash gapps for now
2 Reboot to system, and finish initial setup without account login
3 Go to Settings, in About Phone, press Build Number, until it appears that you are a developer
4 Back to settings, in Developer Options, go to WebView Implementation, if WebView is not available, we will install
5 Download according to the architecture of your mobile
6 And all you have to do now is install the WebView
7 Now, just go back to Settings, Developer Options -> WebView Implementation, and select "Google WebView", "Chrome Stable" appears in some cases, you can also use.
Remember: I just tested this on Cyanogenmod ROM 13 and 14, but it should work on AOSP, and other alternative roms, if the Google Play Services don't work.

when i install android systemwabiew apk in my samsung galaxy grand prime doesn´t appear the systemwebview in developer options. what i can do?
Hello all -
I recently installed CyanogenMod 12 (mimicking Android 5.0.2) on my LG Optimus G At&T (E970). I then attempted to flash GApps (ARM, 5.0, pico) onto it. Every time I try, however, I boot into several errors, the annoying "Unfortunately, ... has stopped". The apps involved in this are Google Backup Transport, Google Play services, Setup Wizard, and sometimes more. I am forced to resort to a manual install of the key GApp APKs (Framework, Account Manager, Play Store, and Play Services). It would be a great help to me if I could acquire some assistance from anyone with a possible solution.
As a side note, I have used the following methods to try to install GApps:
-Standard TWRP 2.8.3.0 clean install
-Open GApps app (with root access)
-Will update after I try FlashFire app
Thanks!
UPDATE!
FlashFire works. Thanks to all who viewed.
Hi,
I have a problem with apps from google play store, because some of them crash moment after start. On my last android device I had Android 7.1 without GAPPS and every app I was using worked like a charm. But I bought a new phone, which has Android 9.0, and then it all started. It is Oneplus 6T and on stock Oxygen OS with disabled Google Play Services everything works. But when I install custom ROM and I don't flash GAPPS or install microG, then apps crash after startup. I would like to avoid even microG, because of signature spoofing thing, and OpenGAPPS are totally unacceptable. Some apps are region related, but for example Duolingo is crashing too.
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I have a GOME C71 as a secondary phone which i use for my work as a test bench (mainly website development)
When i bought it on facebook, there was already all the google stuff installed, but the UI randomly crashed when I pressed the "running app" buton. So i decided to flash a stock firmware (found at needrom.com)
The flash was ok, but now, there is no GAPPS anymore (even if the ROM description says GAPPS included). Tried everything (some Google apps installer : didn't download anything, Installed manually the framework, the services and all other google apps : launch but stuck in verifying information)
So, if someone have a trick to make GAPPS available on this phone, or if someone has a custom ROM with GAPPS, please tell me as i really need google services for testing stuff.
Thanks
Could you kindly share this ROM if you still have it.
