Dear ALL
I have a Galaxy tab GT-P7500 and I just updated it with ODIN to Official ICS 4.0.4 and I also activated the GSM call.
When I go to Settings/Storage it says total storage 28.01 GB, available storage 13.20 GB. but is must show 18.5 GB because I only have 9.5 GB data on it.
I have installed Storage Analyzer, it shows 18.5 GB free. but only 13.2 GB usable.
Can anyone help me ?? what is this problem ?? how can I fix it? where is the missing 5.3 GB of space ???
I rooted my sgt2 the other day, I cant download anything or get any updates because it says "not enough space, delete some applications" but when I go into memory manager I stilll have 9gig free space and 7.5 gig on external sd, I tried unmounting sd card and trying again , im lost as to what is wrong, if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated
I think u r in wrong section. Here is 4 Galaxytab 10.1 (not 4 the "2" model)

Hey there,
I finally got the courage to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (P5110).
All went well. Put Odin3-v1.85_3 on it and shakatu_recovery-clockwork-unofficial-6.0.3.1-p5110.
After rooting i installed (as decribed on the webpage) a custom firwmare: cm-10.1-20130409-NIGHTLY-p5110
Everything works smooth and easy and fast (!), way faster than the stock firmware on it.
BUT: what happened to my internal memory? I only have a few apps installed (should be around 3 Gb), the same apps when i had stock firmware, but when i tried to install a game, it surprised my i had hardly any internal memory left!!!
When i go into settings and go to storage, the device calculates how much free space i got left. It shows me i have around 600 Mb left. Graphically it first shows it's almost full (grey bar), but later after indexing it shows the correct amount of free space. But the text underneath it remains around 600 Mb.
When i go into a file explorer and give it superuser rights, i can go to upper levels of the internal storage and there are loads of folders there. It seems it has something to do with the rooting or the stock firmware (backup or something)??
How can i clear more internal memory? Should I do some sort of wipe again in Clockwork Recovery??
Thanks for reply! :good:
BTW: swapping internal and microsd card memory is not an option for me.
Below i wanted to put photos what my device shows, but i'm not allowed to do so since i'm a newbie.... :crying:
I believe you have the tab 2. This is the tab 10.1 forum.

You're absolutely right...
Can anyone move this to Tab 2 section?...
When I was transferring a few files on my I9500, I've noticed that I've lost at least half of my device storage.
When I go to settings -> Storage it says total space 8.80GB and available 3.75GB. I'm pretty sure I have the 16GB international model Galaxy S4.
Any clues?
Anyone..? :/
Has to be min 16GB

The S4 only comes in 16/ 32/ 64 GB Variants so you definately have at least the 16... You probably transferred more than you think because system files are not even nearly that big. Look at your device settings -> Storeage: Internal storeage, and take a screen shot and resport back if the contents dont add up.
ok
check the memory status u can get to know whats going wrong or post snapshot
I bought my S3 two days ago and I noticed that the system occupies 18,75GB!!! Is that correct? So what is the use on having 32GB if almost 20GB come already used from factory!!!!
Moreover, still could not root mine using the files and tutorial found around here. TWPR passes on ODIN install but gives me a boot looping... So that I can't enable adoptive storage on my 64 GB SD card.
Please let me know if it is correct.

No, post a screen shot of your storage usage.
Thanks for your time!
Attached.
I factory reseted the tablet and the space occupied by system now is around 7,8 GB.
Somehow it was duplicated in the first case. I have flashed OS through odin after a boot loop so I think it was a cache issue.
Anyway, solved.
