Undo no verity opt encrypt - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi, kinda desperate here
I was trying to flash Fulmics into my H850 and accidentally (****ed up, actually) installed no verity opt encrypt (5.1) thinking that was part of the process.
Flashed Fulmics successfully but it's now stuck on the secure start-up screen, which requires a password that I can't even type cos the keyboard won't show up (System UI crashes). I was on stock Nougat, flashed TWRP (3.0.2.1), tried to root but it didn't work as well.
edit: no idea what this no verity zip file does but it doesn't seem like it has something to do with the problem

Tried flashing Fulmics again and the no verity zip afterwards but it still gets to this screen

did you format your data partition in TWRP before installing FULMICS?
if not, why not? This procedure was suggested.
(You should make a backup of "data" in front of!)
{ as i know, it is not possible to decrypt the data partition until now. The own way to go seems to be to format data before installing something other . ->but see my signature 1&2!!}

Android asks pattern before booting

Hi, few days ago i tried lineage official. after flashing it asked me if i want password before every boot. i said yes. now i uninstalled lineage and came back to miui. but it still asking me the pattern. how do I remove it. because of that i am being unable flash unofficial roms. Unofficial roms fail saying unable to decrypt or something like that.
Hi
Use the MiFlash tool to reflash the stock ROM , but make a backup of your data
I am sure you didn't format /data, /cache, and dalvik-cache before you switch back to stock. The decryption asks password to decrypt /data. It is okay for the recovery to wipe the /data partition without password though. You can't just access the data, wiping is allowed.
Also, use Xiaomi Flash Tool to flash original OS. It'll wipe everything with no hassle.
Please don't expect to use /data partition on different OSes.

A little help here !

I am currently on Pixel Experience (Build no. : 190205) with Franco kernel. I have received the OTA update but unable to flash it from TWRP because of encryption enabled (ik I can use OTG tho) but I want to know how to disable that encryption WITHOUT flashing the data coz I don't want to rn, so is there any way to flash encryption disabker via magisk? I've searched around a bit for that but no help to force disable encryption without flashing the data first
And one more thing, after disabling the encryotion (without formating the data) can I dirty flash the OTA zip or again need to flash
A little help would really be appreciated :fingers-crossed:

I had this same question previously and did not have an answer, in my case I flash a new rom version with dirty flash, and data encryption was enabled, my new flash rom was very broken, I flashed the old version on my system and I lost access to /data, I was crazy at the moment trying to remember what I lost, but it was too late for that.
In your case you still have access to /data?
If so, backup for your notebook everything in the internal memory of your device.
If not, the only method of getting back to your device, is unfortunately, to do a Clean Flash.
PS: perhaps, there may be a good soul with a solution to it, but I did not have an answer that worked.
PS2: Always use DisableForceEncryptation after flashing some ROM, I've learned to lose things.

Backup first when you have the chance.
It seems that the official TWRP now can handle encryption/decryption. Check that and flash it, then boot back into TWRP and flash the OTA.

Well thanks for replying. I got a possible fix this btw ....
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-3-decryption-t3853004
In this thread, the TWRP mentioned says " THIS TWRP DOES NOT DISABLE FORCE ENCRYPTION. IT WILL DECRYPT THE ENCRYPTED DATA WITHOUT THE NEED OF FORMATING IT " so I gave it a shot and it worked. Now I have encryption disabled from TWRP and working absolutely fine with internal storage mounted and needed not to format anything.
PS: just flashed that recovery via adba and viola oh and I always make a backup before tinkering with rom thanks tho

Problem with flashing a custom rom (Vendor)

So i installed Pixel E as said in the forum post and videos and it was working fine, TWRP was fine and installed with no problems, then i went back to MIUI for the L1 certificate update and decided that i wanna try oxygen OS
i install TWRP like i did the first time but this time i didnt get the menu that says swipe to allow modifications, after that i went and mounted vendor and system like i did the first time, and i went to wipe the data i didnt find the vendor option there, it was weird and i thought there`s something wrong with the phone
i go back to the install, i install the disable force encyption file and try to install the rom, i get the success thingy
i restart and it says encrypting your phone and i boots back to recovery
can anyone help with that please? i tried 4 different roms all are the same
and how can i show the vendor option again?
OxygenOS Comes With A Modified Vendor So When You Flashing OOS You Need To Flash DFE Due To Encryption Problem.
Decrypt Your Data By Formatting internal Storage.
Go To Wipe format Data Type Yes Reboot to system.
Just Allow that modification when you decrypt your phone and flashing a Rom that TWRP modification sign comes.
When you wipe data system , Vendor Partition will be Automatically Wiped.
Flash Orange Fox Recovery You Will Also Get that Vendor Partition.

I did that and it worked, thanks but the swipe to allow modifications page still didn't appear, it booted right to main page of TWRP

That Sign Comes Only One Time.
Swipe To Allow Modification Means You will not getting any error while Flashing.
Check in Mount Partition System Keep Read Only If It's Enabled Simply Remove that Mark or Tick Reboot To System.

Android 9 keeps encrypting again despite TWRP and Decrypt

Dear readers,
I flashed TWRP 3.3.1, booted into it, wiped data, did factory reset, and installed decrypt for latest pie.
i rebooted into twrp to verify the decryption and indeed I was not asked for a password.
Then I booted into Pie and went through the account setup and while I was doing that some updates got installed by android.
To my horor when I booted back into TWRP it again asked for password, meaning android pie somehow encrypts the data again.
(Second time I did this whole process again I installed magisk.zip, so at least I have root.)
My question is:
How can I stop Android from encrypting again during the account setup process?
Greetings,
Mike
This happens to me too, the only real workaround I've found so far is to flash your zips (ie. magisk) before booting the first time.
I did flash stock image, flash twrp, boot into twrp, format data, flash decrypt.zip, flash Magisk.zip, and reboot. First thing it does is encrypt it again.
Then I tried same process but with no-dm-verity-encrypt.zip or something like that, and it said success, but still Pie decrypts again.
Then I tried previous firmware, (. 48 instead of 51), but same result. It is driving me nuts.
And no help from here so far.
Maybe I should go back to oreo, that worked OK with decrypt.
Greetings
Same problem wait solutions.
Alas, still no fix for this major problem.
What is the point of creating TWRP and other custom recoveries for X01AD when they can not be used for making backups, due to decryption problem?
So please someone with the skills to create a force decryption that actually works, help us out.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Updated from A10 to A12... no apps working

Hello!
Yesterday, I updated my phone from A10 to A12 with full OTA and applied magisk on inactive slot.
After rebooting, all seems to work, no bootloop, android was optimizing apps... so far so good, I reached the point where my patter was asked. There was no problem with it.
The problem appeared when trying to open any APP and the android answer was (for any app) "Failed to read the app data. Cannot start the app"
Okay, I tried to go to settings and was unable to do so. After putting phone in airplane mode, settings worked but clearing apps cache or data did not help.
Trying to fastboot boot twrp.img did not work until I found https://github.com/rabilgic/twrp_device_oneplus_hotdogb/tree/Android-12.1 by another xda user.
Even being another device it worked (afaik they were unified twrp so they should work for both). However, once booted, the first problem appears. Inserting my patter did not decrypt the data in twrp... Booting into system removing pattern and try TWRP again and nothing changed...
Checking in twrp the data/data lead see all folders and files encrypted there... So this is probably why any app is working...
After reading, I saw that fbev2 was applied to A12 so this might be the problem. My guess was that flashing a A11 rom might save my data since the encryption should be the same older one v1. However, I am unable to flash ROMS with TWRP... Tried with OTG or sideload, but both failed. I would like to know if there is a way to flash an older rom (A10 whcih was my original one or A11) to decrypt the data or make the A12 decryption work to recover all my apps and data.
I do not know if flashing any further (of if I had already) lost the decryption keys or what is going on.
I had extracted the .img from a full A10 OTA (OOS) and I am hesitant of flashing all 32 images to the phone or if that will wipe data partition.
How can I proceed if possible without losing data with a flash, or how can I decrypt the data to make it work with A12?
