Awesome bro . Nice work. ?????
Bro we are waiting for the release (for core).
????????
good job bro
Will install and try this ROM as soon as possible. I hope the ROM in its current state is better than your CM12.1 ROM, as the working RIL is one major reason to switch this ROM. That said, I hope to see more updates on the CM12.1 ROM too.
Thank you for releasing another stable ROM for our device, androidlover!
Nice stable fluid rom.... can your cm 11 custom kernel be used with this rom???
I installed the ROM. Impressions may be coming later, as well as screenshots.
Alright, I got me some screenshots. One thing I liked enough about the ROM is the ability to show a navbar, so I decided to also take screenshots of the functionality. (which can be turned on and off on the fly without any reboots, and apps will scale properly in the same session!) So far the battery is a bit so-so, though it may be because of Google Play Services taking its toll on the device. Can be better than weritos' CM11 but I found it to be not as good as androidlover's CM12.1. Other than that, it seems to be a KitKat ROM with more tricks up its sleeves than Cyanogenmod 11.
Haven't used much of it to formulate my impressions of it. Yet.
Does it work on rev2?
Please tell me yes
You're on fire
also there are some heating left on your roms probably GPU side

Open GApps 4.4 Pico works with this ROM.
EDIT: The battery of this ROM seems to be good, actually. All these hours went by, yet the drain was just 18%.
androidlover, you are android lover in true sense.
Just flashed ROM and GApps (ARM, 4.4, Pico). Prima facie, ROM is awesome.
Will discover more.
Thanks!
I am not able to receive anything over Bluetooth. Can someone verify this as a bug? Is there any workaround?

I managed to send myself a file from my Windows 10 computer to the ROM. In the bluetooth settings on the ROM I set it to "Accept all file types" and the visibility time out to Never.
Battery draining fast while using the phone. Even on restart battery came down from 80 to 44.
it cant detect sd card ......also in gallery it says no storage ......:crying::crying:
Changes made in "performance" (after activating developer options) are not executed. Other than that it's an almost perfect ROM. Other than that it's a perfect ROM lots of customization options.

In the mean time grab my test builds from :-

And Gapps from :-

NOTE : I have only tested these on a standard WiFi Nexus 9. I have no idea how/if they will perform/flash on another variant but if you know what you are doing and want to give it a try and let me know that would be nice also
*As usual Flash at your own risk*

Does this work for the LTE model too?
Do you install the kernel first or can you just install the rom.
FINALLY I've got a reason to unlock my n9! Thank you so much
Edit: Oh and it seems they decided to downgrade our kernel to 3.4.x ;p

Yeah found a bug in the build I did yesterday and was going to post. Just a little issue with the current slimlauncher. I'll post a build once it's resolved. And yes the op is wrong in places . It'll be fixed.
the 3.4.x kernel thing was because XDA's devdb doesn't list anything higher yet
2nd post has temporary links in
Maybe I will test with the lte model
---------- Post added at 22:02 ---------- Previous post was at 21:13 ----------
@Flinny booted fine on LTE model. The boot although took a long time.
Mobile data didn't work and had to insert my APNs manually
Is the Github sources updated? I like to build my own rom zips
First boot takes a while but should be fine after. The flounder device and kernel are on my github at the moment, I'm waiting for them to be forked to SlimROM. All of the patches required to build though is another matter. Some are merged, some are still on gerrit. I'm pushing them through as fast as I can.
So data works once you input the apn's? Which provider are you using?

Data works (LTE) fine after inserting the apn.
Not sure if it would have found them if I had let it search them in the setup wizard little longer.
I am using TeliaSonera/Sonera (Finnish carrier)
Everything seems to be working, haven't found any big bugs yet, so very nice work
Hey there, after installing the rom i can't get my pc to recognise the nexus 9. Any idea why?
Also the lower dpi seems to cause issues with chrome. New tabs aren't shown properly.
And supersuser seems to be broken or at least for me.
Thank you & Slim Team! :highfive:
Your test version works really wonderful ... ! I look forward to more.

Welcome to Exodus for Shamu.
To answer first question before it comes up:
Yes, we are working on 5.1 version but it is a big change so we will still need some days
Submitting a bug: 90% of bug reports lack the vital information required for a fix.
- Device? Use the call sign, JFLTE is your GS4, etc
- What nightly are you on?
- Clean or Dirty flash?
- Custom kernel?
- When did it start?
- Brief description
- Steps to replicate
- Log? Post it on pastebin.com or a similar NO LOGIN NEEDED, plain text website. We will NOT sign up for anything to read your log!
2) Logcat,... umm what's that?
http://www.vanir.co/word/diy/capturing-a-logcat/
If you can root your phone, then you can grab a high quality log. Short and sweet logs are better than long ones. If you search the log and do not see the words fatal or error then you missed the problem.

Good news
Welcome @Martin_Ro thanks for sharing this ROM with the Nexus 6 community. :good:
We build this for quite some time but never got a maintainer for it or better say the maintainer we found never had time (real life first) to maintain a thread.
Now I got a Shamu myself so I can support it now first hand and so it was time for a thread :highfive:

So is this CM derivative ROM?
Yes, we use cm as a base and added some stuff on it (featurewise but also optimizations).
nice to see martin and dave here, exodus is hands down the fastest rom available
Been on Vanir since the beginning and followed Dave over to Exodus. Most optimized efficient rom hands down. Looking forward to see where the team takes it. Thanks.
Flashed this. Have a quick question lol. When I pull down the notification bar...... Nothing shows except brightness bar? Is this normal or is some botched? After installing and starting it up it told me there was another update but I DL the latest from the op.... Just wondering... O and dh whatever gapps option in the updater menu fc's
Waching this based on the comments alone - a few of the users who have posted pretty strongly worded statements are not typically ones I find to exaggerate or not know their stuff.
Delete didn't read.
Can't wait for 5.1 excited for this. Just Dont have time to downgrade bootloader and radio ATM why I'll postpone the flashing. But def excited

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding notification drawer: looks normal for me, the usual tikes. You can configure them via settings->Interface->notification drawer->quick settings tile.
The update stuff is an issue we know about and have to check it...
Regarding gapps link. Do you maybe have no browser installed ?

I feel like an idiot about the gapps lmao. But the notification drawer wouldn't appear till I went into the tile section then just exited out. Then they showed up. Weird but everything else is running smooth as butter. Thank you guys for such a great ROM. Hopefully 5.1 is just as great
Does anyone know we're I can get the 5.0.2 bootloader/radio to flash? Or a link that would be awesome

If you're on 5.1 flashing that bootloader won't work and if it does will result in a bricked device. As stated above, 5.0.x roms work fine on 5.1 radios/bootloader.

I was on validus room v7.0 5.0.2 I really like elemental X kernel but it will not load for me it probably doesn't have anything to do with me being on 5.0.2 and 5.1 radio/BL but before I flashed the 5.1 Firmware Ex worked great! I can't figure out why ElementalX won't boot up.
Nice can't wait when you guys update to 5.1 I miss your Rom! Especially your Nav Bar. Don't understand why other Roms don't implement your Nav Bar.

Team OctOs presents Oct-L
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 5 (Lollipop)?
A: Yes, this is Android 5.1.1
Q: What code is Oct-L based on?
A: Starting with Oct-L, we've rebased OctOs on the CyanogenMod 12 code.
Q: What happened to AOSP?
A: All Android code is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Under previous releases, we tried very hard to limit the number of "Not from Google directly" repositories that we used. Unfortunately, issues with devices, the need for Code Aurora Foundation (CAF) repositories for Qualcomm devices, and compatibility issues meant fighting code more often than not. We decided that since the code-base for many repositories were the same across most ROMs, picking a starting point to build the user experience on outweighed the desire to craft code from scratch, or fix broken code to make it work with other changes we already had.
Q: Why isn't there XXXXXXX feature.
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But CM and all the others have..
A: ROM developers, including CM, build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-L.
Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.
ADB Logcat tutorial here:How to create a logcat log
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file and MD5 file, and grab your favourite Gapps package
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Reboot to Recovery from Power Menu, Hardware-based boot to recovery, or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
Factory Reset from TWRP
Flash ROM and GApps .ZIP files
Reboot
The Oct-L ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /data/dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your GApps Provider
The foundation of the Android OS is the fact that is it open-source. We have all code we use internally in the creation of Oct-L available on our GitHub repositories.
Unless otherwise specified, all Oct-L builds use the device's stock CyanogenMod 12 kernel.

coming from the maintainer of MERE ROM for MMA A116, this oughta be good. will check this out. all the best, @Megatron007. :good:
i'm using resurrection remix rom now, since i find it has the most customisation options. if the issues mentioned in this post could be tackled, i'd be happy. thanks in advance.
p.s.: what exactly does "NOT supported" mean? is it that you won't offer fixes for issues that emanate from using other methods to boot into recovery and/or if the recovery used is anything other than twrp? or, that things just won't work if not done exactly as told?
edit: YU Yureka is not listed in your profile . how do you actively develop for the device, then? . ok, it's listed here :good:.

I tried the GAPPS from the link provided but didn't work for me. Click here, this is the minimal edition and works wonders. I've tried with other 5.1.1 Roms, worked all the time. Plz hit thanks.

A query if anyone can solve please
Does it have the issue of showing SIM Card configured on bootup?
Good ROM But..
I downloaded and installed this ROM and used the same for about 20 hours. My observations...
1. Very Smooth. Antutu gave me 33490 score.
2. Xposed worked for me without any issues.
3. Gave me fairly good battery (with varun's Thunderzap kernel)
But I faced frequent Dialer FCs. Sometimes using dialer would reboot the phone.
So I had to go back to Stock cm12.
Thanks for your efforts developer. I do hope you would support this ROM in the future. Would like to come back to this ROM quickly.

AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

-Else You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Make sure you have latest version of TWRP recovery and Firmware installed
Backup your current Rom through recovery.
Wipe System, Cache, Dalvik Cache, Data
Flash the ROM.zip and gapps.zip file.
Reboot system and setup the rom
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!

KitKat bootloader/modem files
This zip contains the bootloader and modem files from latest stable international release (MIUI8 V8.2.1.0 KitKat). I made it so users don't have to download and install the official zip, which also includes the rom. It's a flashable zip, so just install it from recovery and reboot (no wipes required).

Flash latest Firmware and then flash the Rom and gapps over it.
Flashing the firmware needs once only and not need to flash it on every update.
Test this Rom, and please report if found any bugs.

Hi hemantbeast, I am planning to flash this ROM on my brother's Redmi Note 4G & I promise to review a week later. Since my brother needs a daily driver and won't be able to do much troubleshooting, do you recommend it as a daily driver? I am considering this ROM, RR, Meeko & CM, but only Meeko is being updated constantly. Will you be updating this fairly regularly?

This is going to be official, if anyone gives proper review about this rom.
First of all thank you for the rom.
As this device is not much supported so if i hardbrick it then would we be able to recover (mi flasher?).....if you could just confirm all this i would gladly help to review this rom for you . And btw dior is that single sim 4g variant...right? And also as oms is in the title so are the rootless commits included?

Hi there, decent job. So far it is fluid and doesnt eat up all battery. One thing. I have tried to flash custom kernel (https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../kernel-aries-kernel-v1-0-redmi-note-t3261278) but I get recovery boot loop. You think you can look into it and do something about it?

have been testing this rom for 2 weeks. stable, i did encounter some problem with this rom.
when tethering with portable wifi hotspot, the connection always drop. (my laptop says wifi disconnected) have to disable and enable back the wifi hotspot to gain connection. other than that, no problem.
the most stable custom rom i've ever use. thumbs up for you hemantbeast :good:
AGNi kernel pureLOS-N v2.3:-
UPSTREAM: timerfd: Protect the might cancel mechanism proper
Makefile: enable O3 enhanced optimizations
fs: drop_pagecache on suspend - Xiaomi ido-l-oss
kernel: Releasing resources with children
kernel: Make sure nobody's leaking resources
fs/buffer.c: increase the buffer-head per-CPU LRU size
Upstream linux-3.4.0 to latest 3.4.113
Merge CAF/LA.BF.1.1.3_rb1.15
Update Prima WLAN driver to LA.BF.1.1.3_rb1.15
prima: enable WMM wlan firmware feature
DOWNLOAD
As the Rom expected is working, so the new update is coming very soon. Stay tuned.
Works well
I've been using this rom for some weeks now, imo it's almost perfect so I can recommend it without doubt.
One thing I discovered: it continously drops wifi and cellular data connection which is annoying. I was searching for a solution and found a video on YT. I had to disable the wifi and bluetooth scanning (Settings -> Location -> top right corner 'scanning'). Seemingly it works well now.
I changed rom from MIUI 8 which is still based on KitKat. TBH I love MIUI, but KitKat is outdated now and I don't want to buy a new phone at least until 2018.
Thank you very much for your hard work. :good: :good:

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.
Pre-Disclaimer:
THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL BUILD. The intent is to showcase what is coming up soon. @frap129 and I have been working hard on getting taimen on a level we consider DD ready, especially from a security side of things.
Please keep any problems with those builds in this thread, we don't accept any bugreports for unofficial builds anywhere else.
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash!
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
Notice:
This build includes GApps for now. We're still working on ways to not prebundle it.
Before you flash, make sure you're on the latest 8.1 stock builds (and bootloader), then flash the ROM in TWRP.
MORE IMPORTANT NOTICE: We are very proud to announce that we are the first and only custom ROM to actually get the Now Listening Feature working on AOSP.

Is this ROM still in testing? And I tread that were supposed to have latest stock 8.1 build.. what's that supposed to mean?? I'm running RR Mod rn.. and I really wanna try carbon.. any help??
ROM is running very smooth! And it seems like it's the first one which doesn't push the cores of the G5 to 2GHz all the time so battery consumption is pretty low.
I had some crashes in the beginning after restoring APPs from Titanium Backup but by now no further issues. Camera is okay but could be better (crashes from time to time, 'Open Camera' is doing quite well!). But I guess this is due to the fact that Motorola hasn't released Oreo yet and some parts for building the camera parts properly.
- Magisk v16 works fine (had to install it twice but then worked)
- BT working
- ext. LTE support (can't test VolTE cause I don't have it)
- Safetynet passes
- SD Card access working
@rrajesh011, @vache - you did a very descent job! By now it's the best Oreo ROM I've tested.
