Is it possible to flash the stock 6.0.1 ROM onto a Verizon tablet? I no longer care about LTE support, if that makes any difference, as I no longer have VZ service on this tablet.
really hoping
that someone answers this question

So my girlfriend has wants her S4 rooted. I have the S3 and its quite different as far as rooting goes. I am also on sprint whereas she is on verizon (although thats not such a big deal).
Anyways, what I would like to have clarified for me is this: She is currently unrooted with stock MK2. From what I have read you can only root and install compatible roms with safestrap. The main thing she wants is KitKat and possibly CM. Is there any way for her to get either of these. Also, would it be possible to revert back to stock and flash KitKat with the OTA from verizon when it is released?
Thanks for any help.

There's no way for her to get KitKat or CM or anything AOSP. Hopefully the next OTA will have an exploit, but there hasn't been a cracked bootloader since the first version of firmware on the initial releases. Realistically, never going to happen.
Hey guys, I recently won a contest in which the prize was the Sprint version of this phone (LS990) and I would like to give it a try, but I've never used these CDMA/GSM phones before. I plan initially to give LG stock software a try to see what it's like (I'm a Nexus user most of the time), but eventually I'll probably settle on an AOSP based ROM (or as close as I can get). I was wondering if anyone could tell me in a broad sense what I would have to do to get it SIM/GSM unlocked and running properly on both a stock based (or stock ROM even) and an AOSP based ROM.
EDIT: What steps should I take in order to root? There's no CF-Auto-Root for this device. Is the only way to install TWRP using the BUMP method?
Hoping someone has a minute or two too answer a few questions. Currently have the Metro PCS S5, but was told I can use the T Mobile software which will work perfectly with it and found out that Metro won't be putting out Lollipop for S5 and would prefer Lollipop over KK. Anyway...
1. I'm opting for 5.0 since 5.1.1 cannot be rooted yet, but was wondering how stable is 5.0?
2. How stable is 5.1.1?
3. Do you think it's worth the effort for me to install 5.0 while waiting on 5.1.1 to be rootable or do you think a root method will be out soon enough that I should just hold off on the 5.0 install?

Whoever told you metro isn't updating the s5 is wrong.
5.1.1 runs way faster than 5.0, much smoother, more fluid, gallery and camera is 10x faster, battery seems improved, and I haven't had any issues with it. Yeah no root at the moment but I'm a root junkie and still tough'n out unrooted. And you don't need root for everything since you can flash recovery, MOAB, debloat with the debloater in general, make your own debloat script, etc etc

From what I was told at the local corporate Metro is that they were out of the S5 and didn't expect anymore since they were phasing out the S5 since the S6 was released. I can only assume that if they are phasing it out, they wouldn't waste resources updating it. Not to mention the fact that T Mobile released 5.0 back in like Feb for the S5 and would have expected Metro to follow suit since their pretty much one and the same company.
I can't seem to get a clear answer searching the forums... I've been on stock, unrooted 4.4.2 for a while now and all is working fine. The OTA update (for 5.0) is sitting on my phone and I just keep delaying the install. I've been tempted to get one of the new ANDROID AUTO radios and in order to do so, I'll need to upgrade to Lollipop... But I keep reading about bad experiences with the tmobile 5.0 variant.
Anyone on tmobile stock 5.0 happy? Is everything working? Battery life good? Wifi not dropping?
For that matter, anyone on stock 5.1.1 happy? Does mhl still work?
I'm not super interested in rooting (I will if I have to) or running custom roms (I really need wifi-calling) -- just worried the stock OTA experience is borked.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

5.1.1 is noticeably quicker than 5.0 or below, however it has a major MHL bug, i.e. it does not work! Just purchased the MHL adapter (wasn't aware of what I was missing...it's awesome), but had to downgrade to 5.0 in order for it to work. My guess is a 5.1.1 bug fix ota is likely in the works....I hope. Anyway you can freely Odin flash between any firmware version for this device.
Thanks!
Updated to 5.0. Everything seems to be running smoothly... I'll hold off on 5.1.1 for a while until there's a bug fix.
I ended up with a Verizon S4 through eBay (for a good price at least), and have managed to get on 5.0.1 and root it (via the PC version of Kingroot). Being that it's the OC1 baseband version, my options seem to be quite - no, very limited, when it comes to flashing non-touchwiz based ROMs. Is there any conceivable way I can get a custom recovery on here that will allow me to flash AOSP ROMs? I can wait, it doesn't have to be right now... I just need to know if my particular S4 is permanently crippled in this regard, or if it's just a matter of waiting until someone cracks it. Ideally I'd like to have an unofficial Android M ROM on here when the time comes. What are my options?
Also, I just came from the development sub forum (I can't comment there yet) and saw a new 5.1.1 ROM (Gamer Rom?) that claims to work for the Verizon S4. I'm skeptical that it wouldn't actually brick my device so I wanted to check of anyone else here has found a way to flash it. As far as I know, we can't even flash CWM so I just wanted to double check of I was missing anything obvious. Cheers
