Is this possible to root!! Without...(mido) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Any way to root mido without breaking ota support
We dont any twrp (like zcx) which can flash ota updates, after flash twrp ota cannot be installed
So there is any way to do that
I hve tried to root without flashing the twrp
Using fastboot boot twrp commant so the stock recovery is not replaced but when i try to intall a ota it gives me some error
It happens bcoz system is modified
So any other method to root our mido without breaking ota
Plz help any one

Install twrp, then install magisk, then install stock recovery and relock bootloader.

You can flash a official dev edition, which is defaulted rooted.

I believe so. Flashing magisk, enabling root, then relocking BL mighr be the best way.

Firstly you need to officially unlocked the bootloader then Fellow the instruction to flash twrp: http://en.miui.com/thread-296053-1-1.html, after that changed to alka twrp for flashing official miui rom, root and installed exposed framework by solarwarez.

I downloaded miui 8.5.3 recovery file. Can I just flash it like I did with Resurrection Remix ? Or I have to it the fastboot way only??
are you officially unlocked?
if yes flash the zip via twrp followed by flashing lazyflasher..
if your are unofficially unlocked delete aboot file from the firmware folder and then flash it along with lazy flasher

if flashing throug twrp you will have to flash lazy flasher after flashing rom..
you are forced to delte the aboot file as you had done the unlocking in the unofficial way....
nb:- your bootloader is outdated..as unofficial one is based on lollipop.. i would sugest you to flash latest fastboot rom and unlock via mi flash tool:good:

Outdated bootloader, hmm. Yes, I think it's the problem as someon else also suggested to first upgrade to latest global stable ROM and then unlock. But how to do that? I googled it, but can't find any method. There's negative comments on every one of the threads. Help me out in this ?

Is there any way apart from official method?

Already tried that. Got permission in 3 hours. But miunlock gets error at 99 %. " Account not bound to this device, go to dev options -> mi status -> add account". Did that too, but gives 8612 and something in Chinese error.

Thanks. What I want to do is either update to latest RR ROM, or to revert back to miui because 25-04 Resurrection build is a lil bit buggy. And the problem while updating to latest build is it gets stuck on "get Resurrected" animation. Same goes for NitrogenOS. Currently, I'm on 25-04 RR build, and it's working okay-ish with some bugs. Now, on asking this stuck animation here on another thread, someone said to upgrade bootloader by unlocking in miui 8. But there's no unofficial way...
On which ROM did you unlock officially? Global stable or global dev or China ROM. Also provide the miui version. I will try to flash that ROM and re-unlock

Make sure the bootloader is unlocked officially.
Download the latest Kenzo fastboot ROM and run the 'flash_all.bat' script.
Boot up and done!

Can I downgrade to official MIUI 8 with Mi flash tool and fastboot ROM and locked bootloader?
Simply download the desired rom and rename it with update.zip and then go in the updater app their click the update package and it will be installed
I did it, thanks!

You cannot downgrade a rom using updater.... to do so you need to follow fastboot method which requires unlocked bootloader and it wipes all your data...thank you
@chvakhil SD variant doesn't need unlocked bootloader. Only thing you need to do is to use EDL and you can flash fastboot rom with lbl.
Sry to mention about that ..I am not using an SD variant..thank you @edi194

Thats simply not true, procedure is to download recovery ROM and rename it to update.zip and put it to root of your phone and start update from your phone updater app. It will clean all of the data from your phone though but if you make a backup on mi cloud all would be as before.

download official fastboot rom from en.miui.com,and use mi flash to flash the latest MIUI8 ROM.Remember you'd better wipe all data(1.back up all of your data;2.you can chose wipe all&lock your device if you want.).

Are you unlock unofficially?
If unlock unofficially, just delete the file "emmc_appsboot.mbn" from the ROM zip file and flash.
