So I am testing a new rom version that is having problems with the wifi. It says that the connection has no internet when connected but the internet is working fine, it is just showing wrong. It is a marshmallow rom and the previous version of it was fine. Because of this android will not connect automatically because it thinks there is no internet. The rom is made by a chinese developer so the communication for it is hard. I am trying to figure it out myself. What in android analyzes the connection to determine if it has internet or not? Would that not be the first place to look?

Vegan 5.1.1 connected just fine with our enterprise security network. But Calkulin's rom 1.1 can't even see the wifi signal. Any idea?
Yeah, you're running into the same issue I had. Anything that's based on the stock ROM (TnT LIte, Calkulins) won't see a PEAP authenticated network.
So far the only one's that I know for sure will are VEGAn and the AOSP Vanilla 2.3.3, although I'm having issues accessing intranet with AOSP Vanilla 2.3.3 (it'll connect to the internet through the router, but not the intranet, for some reason).
After I finished installing Cyanogenmod 10.2.2 snapshot . I couldn't access internet even it's written connected on wifi network and for mobile data although turning it on I couldn't access internet . Also for USB it doesn't work unless enabling usb debugging in developing tools.
Hello,
I own a Moto G (1st generation), running on Android 5.0.2, stock firmware (LXB22.46-28), bootloader locked and unrooted. When I switch on Connectify-me on my laptop to create a Wifi hotspot, my phone is unable to detect it. It doesn't show up on the Wifi connections list. Two other Wifi connections do show up, which also show up on my laptop. My phone was working fine with Connectify on the previous android version. Alternatives like Virtual Router, etc. are not working. I have not been able to check if my phone has been able to connect to other Wifi connections after the Lollipop upgrade.
What can I do?
So with the official rom I was able to use WIfi and Wifi hotspot at the same time, but after the last update , it no longer lets me use both at the same time... i sthere any custom rom that allows this ?
I have updated to S2RKS32.92-11-21-12 rom via the Lenovo RSA (rescue & smart assistant app) as the OTA was not working (I have unlocked bootloader).
This was reported to be the latest rom (android 12)
Everything seems fine but when I turn hotspot on the other devices connect but cannot get any internet. It was working with the same devices when on android 11.
Any help welcome.
I tried a few things.
Firsrt of all, besides wifi hotspot not working, I also had no usb tethering or bluetooth tethering. So, no way to share my mobile data connection.
I tried another android 12 release (KYOTO_RETAIL_12_S2RKS32.92-11-30-8_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC)
It did't fix anything.
So, I went back to the latest android 11 release I could find: KYOTO_RETAIL_11_RRKS31.Q3-19-98-4_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC
This is working as before.
The other roms I found from https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/motorola/kyoto/official/RETAIL/
and I followed this procedure to flash:
So. Does anyone have android 12 with working usb/bluetooth tethering and hotspot? If so, which rom to use?
