Hey guys! I'm having issues with the USB C audio port after installing Lineage. Here's the problem and what I've done so far: The USB C earphones that came with the phone are not recognized when plugged in. I had used them with the stock ROM and they worked fine, that was until I flashed Lineage on my phone and now the earphones don't work. I went into the developer options and selected the USB port to be (audio source) and also disabled/enabled the automatic USB audio rerouting option under [media]. Neither option helped whether I enabled or disabled them (rebooting in between changes). Now, the port works fine if I plug in the USB C-to-3.5mm jack adapter and either a speaker or earphones on the adapter. The audio signal is fine then, it just doesn't work if the earphones are type-C themselves. I also tried going into the Lineage OS OTA update option and updating the OS from there to maybe solve a firmware issue, but the update always fails, stating that I have to check my internet connection. I also tried downloading the latest nightly manually and using the data/data/org.lineageos.updater/app_updates directory to update, but it failed as well. My last resort was to try to update by flashing from TWRP in recovery, however that ALSO failed, I got an error message saying I was attempting to update over incompatible data. So, I'm unable to use my earphones, AND unable to update Lineage. I'd rather not have to factory reset, but do you have any ideas? I appreciate whatever help you can provide.
CDLA has been somewhat problematic under various Noguat ROMs for awhile now. Ex. audio works on them with the most recent Resurrection Remix-Nougat build, but they no longer respond to mic button presses.
I'm sure it will be fixed relatively soon, but it's an annoyance for now... ?
Hello,
I had the same issues with newest versions of this ROM. I have solved (for now) coming back to 14.1-20170721 version; after reinstalled this version with TWRP over the newest the Leeco headphones with USB-C plug started to work again.
Regards
How do we get lineages to revert the problem code? How to report it? I have just updated to latest lineages and they don't work
this is really sad and still an issue with latest version :/
Sadly this does not work under 14.1-20180304

Hi,
S2 suddenly stopped picking up USB. "USB Device Not Recognised".
I've checked all guides and i cant get it to work. Its not my USB ports my S4 works fine.
I have replaced USB pcb many months ago no problem until now, it charges fine makes standard noise when i plug it in.
I assumed it may be due to custom rom, i tried to flash stock in Odin download mode but it does not recognise any USB device.
I'm kind of stuck and don't know what to do next hope someone can help.
Update: I'm going to try Mobile Odin, see if flashing original Stock firmware fixes it.
You can try to reinstall samsung drivers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956), see if that fixes it.
It's unlikely that a custom rom is causing it, unless the problem happened as soon as you flashed it, rather than suddenly not working.
Thanks, tired it no luck, I may have to replace USB PCB. flashed stock firmware with mobileOdin I hoped it would fix it.
:good:
Thanks for that outstanding contribution to the thread

I've checked the info on the other ROMs and it seems each one has its own issues with bugs on Nougat versions that need ironing out. I think I'll stick with Lineage OS for now, unless you guys REALLY suggest I switch to a different ROM for stability, support, etc.. The only thing that kind of worries me now is the update fails, I don't know if I'll be able to get updates on the OS. I've never flashed an update over an already installed OS. Is that possible? Say I go on the website and find an updated version of Lineage (once released) Can I download it and update over TWRP? or how would it be done?. Sorry if these are Noob questions. Thanks in advance for any help.
Same problem with earphone USBc3 not working
I have the same problem with my Max 2 after installing an update around 27 July. The earphone is not detecting, you only can use the bluetooth.
Heyyo, try it with the LeEco logo facing backwards. Oddly enough for Nougat ROMs the USB type C CDLA headphones seem to only work properly with that logo backwards... Might be a byproduct of no blobs from LeEco for Nougat but I could be wrong

Hello,
I have a small problem concerning the USB-C port.
After connecting my bluetooth earphones, the terminal was stuck in headset mode. I tried to format data, to install again the rom, I made a factory reset, I tried different rom AOSP ... nothing
When I connect wired headphones, the sound works but when I disconnect them no sound works (phone calls and media for speakers or earpiece). I know the earpiece and loudspeaker are working because I tried SoundAbout under android 7.1.0, but this application does not work with android 8.1.0 or 9.0-Alpha
File transfer does not work either, but when I connect my device fastboot, adb recognizes it, when I connect it via android, only charge works.
I think the problem is related to the USB-C port, I cleaned it but it does not change anything ...
Maybe there is another solution that I have not explored yet ...
Thank you for your help.
Best regards
(sorry for my english)
Max.
The Max 2 X829 (treblized)
Android 9.0 alpha (AospExtended-v6.0-x2-20180908-1833-ALPHA)
Hi,
I downgraded to Android 8.1.0 [AOSPExtended [treble] V5.7-official] then I rebooted the system with the charging cable plugged and the sound came back ... weird :cyclops:
But If I reboot without the charging cable, the terminal stays into headset mode...
Data still not working
I don't know why ?
Someone get an idea ? What is the problem ? Any solution ?
thanks
Hello
sorry for a bit of necro
I also have the problem.
I use Audio Router from playstore which works like Sound About but is compatible with 8+ Android.
I also have problems that appeared all of a sudden at the same time:
- same faulty sound behaviour
- usb mtp/adb not available (under recovery and under Android)
- It also seems that my battery will not charge as fast as before though Quick charge is enabled.
pluging/unpluging will not bring the notification to modify the usb link behaviour.
I also tried enabling/disabling usb debugging options...
This happened after trying/flashing many roms so I don't really know which one would have caused evil :/
Do any treble rom could harm the device like this by altering the vendor partition or has it nothing to do with it ?
about usb under pie roms :
The options are greyed under Usb Preferences.
In developer mode, changing the default usb behaviour does nothing.
I have tried 2 USB C cables.
Both are working with my X820 only in bootloader mode.
And both are working fully with my second LeEco (x525).
So i don't think the cables are faulty.
And as it is working also in bootloader mode I suspect there is some lockdown somewhere hidden in my partitions.
But I can't find anything.
I also fully restored the X820 to stock and the problem remains.
under eui roms :
Same problem
No usb configuration available
If anybody could help that would be awesome.
thanks in advance
I would recommend you to reflesh phone with qfil.

Thanks for replying.
I have already done that (full qualcomm reflash with FlashOne & QFil image).
The problem still occurs.
This is very strange behaviour...
The phone is pretty new and I did not make it fall or whatever missuse.
The usb-c is still working in FastBoot Mode (but not mtp/usb file transfer nor usb debugging/Adb) and I can still charge the phone when not using it.
And about the audio problem it can be fixed with an app (audio router/sound about/...) so I am pretty sure it is pure software issue but I can't find any more information about this.
Is there any other system internal partition or else that is not flashed with every rom (other than vendor) and that could be different amongst the x82x devices ?
I have also tried flashing some modem files (not all) maybe this can be linked to this problem ?
Thanks

I am not really sure because I installed many roms for geekly testing purpose
And I can't remember exactly since when It happened...
I ordered my phone from China so I got a chinese eui and modem version but I don't remember which modem version it was...
though I am not sure it can be important or not here...
Currently I went back to SmallEui by Aurel.
This sound exactly like the problem I have.
I am sure it is not hardware related. I even replaced the usb port/flex cable.i don't know which ROM brought me to this stage. Maybe it was linage 15.1, build 20181201, but I don't think it's linage's fault. Because flashing an other ROM doesn't help.
Is there any partition that is not touched by flashing qfil zip file?
Maybe someone can provide twrp backup of all partitions that are reachable by twrp. Hopefully we can find the wrong part this way.
Regards
Jo
So yesterday I flashed again with qualcomm qfil (2 or 3 times) and I finally got back the audio, usb (debugging, mtp and charge).
I do not understand why but the at 1st attempt the audio problem was still here
at the second attempt the audio problem disappeared but my internal storage went partitioned down from 64 Gb to 16 GB
and finally at the third attempt It worked though I had to perform a final factory Reset from Android Settings because the internal storage was filled up to 50 Gb with leeco default garbage....
Everything looked good then and I was happy at last!
But then today suddenly it stopped working again...
I don't know what exactly is in cause...
since yesterday
- I played around with the usb-c / jack audio adapter
- I restored my apps
- I plugged the phone in another usb-c power cable (with magnet pin)
I will try again to fully restore and see what exactly is in cause of the problem...
The other Usb-C seems to be problematic though I am not sure it is the only one to possibly cause the issue....
Hello
I made a thread on reddit in the subreddit of my ROM (/r/LineageOS/comments/cccbtu/pc_does_not_detect_xiaomi_redmi_note_4/) regarding my issue and they recommended that I come here (I hope that's the right place.)
In summary, the notification that usually shows when I plug in my phone, to change the USB configuration from charging to MTP, does not show.
I've tried everything I can think of (different ports, PCs, cables, etc.) and nothing seems to help.
"adb devices" shows no devices both on normal boot and TWRP. The only thing the cable does is charge.
I'd be very happy to fix it.
Thank you!
First it's a software issue so the hardware is fine
Second i suggest getting an sd card with the official stock rom on it (version 10.1.1.0) to fix the reading error since it can't be readed even on twrp
If the problem still presists
I suggest to change the cable or the phone socket
Try another cable then see
Hello!
Here are the system specs:
Device: Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 (3rd gen, apollo)
Android Version: 7.1.2
LineageOS: 14.1 (ggow's most recent build for this device)
TWRP 3.2.3-1
OpenGApps 7.1 (nano/arm)
Bluetooth devices I've tried to connect without success:
Keyboard: AmazonBasics Wireless Keyboard model KT-1267
Headphones: Anker SoundBuds NB10 model AK-A32600M1
Headphones: Anker SoundBuds NB10 model AK-A3260011
Here's what I did to set this Kindle up with Lineage OS and OpenGApps:
Using adb and fastboot from my Linux desktop, I flashed TWRP
Did a complete wipe of the device from TWRP
Installed Lineage OS and OpenGApps using TWRP
I did this process a couple of times to try Magisk and MagiskManager, but the most recent time I did those steps I did not install Magisk or MagiskManager. The device is rooted, and each time I went through those steps I did a complete re-wipe to start fresh.
When trying to connect headphones, the device shows up in the list of available devices on the Kindle. I select them, it grays out to show that it's Pairing... and never connects successfully. Both headphones connect to other devices successfully.
When trying to connect the keyboard, I get to the part where I'm given a pairing code to type in. I type it in, hit enter, and nothing happens. Eventually I get an error: "Couldn't pair AmazonBasics keyboard because of an incorrect pin or passkey"
Here's what I've tried:
Replaced batteries in keyboard.
Connected the keyboard and headphones to other devices (all have successfully paired with phone and desktop)
On my Lineage OS Kindle, I went to Settings > Apps > Selected Show system > Bluetooth extensions > Storage > Clear Data (there was no cache to clear so I couldn't click that button as well)
I also reset the network settings via Settings > More (under Wireless & networks ) > Network settings reset
Restarted my kindle after each of the previous to steps.
The headphones are from 2017 and the keyboard is from 2015. I'm mostly sure this isn't a problem with backwards compatible Bluetooth versions but I haven't been able to figure out which version each device is using.
At this point I may just get a mini-USB keyboard to use with my tablet but I'd love to hear anyone's ideas on getting Bluetooth to work. Bluetooth did work a few days ago when I was running a Fire Nexus ROM from 2016 (I had Android version 4 with that ROM).
Thank you for your time <3
And a huge thank you to the team behind Lineage OS, and to this community. On Android v4 I couldn't use Termux so my tablet was mostly for reading. Even if I can't get Bluetooth working I'm stoked to have Android v7 and can't wait to start doing way more with it!
I am having the same problem as you on a HDX 7 I just unlocked with 1-Click and flashed with Lineage OS 14.1 yesterday. Bluetooth seems to be working and finds new devices, but pairing process fails. BT was working fine with stock OS previously.
Take a look at this thread (down the page a bit), it seems the same thing happens with AOSP and it might be an inherent problem with the HDX. They do describe ways to get devices paired, and once paired they are easy to re-connect. My HDX is at home and I have not tried their suggestions yet:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/orig-development/rom-aospextended-t3691138/page27
Using the tips in that thread I posted, I have now been able to pair multiple Bluetooth devices (2 sets of earphones, keyboard, and trackpad) and once paired, re-connecting is seamless so far on my 8.9 HDX running Lineage 14.1.
I was able to easily connect a Zagg Limitless Bluetooth keyboard on the first attempt. After that, I was able to pair other devices by tapping keys on the connected keyboard while pairing with the other devices. Doing it that way, everything else paired on the first try and has worked great.
From reading around, only 4.4 KitKat ROMs have bug-free Bluetooth (I loaded a 4.4 based Lineage on my 7" HDX and the Bluetooth works without a hitch there.) But if you can manage to pair one device, you should be able to pair others after that on newer ROMs.
After a little more usage, I am finding the Bluetooth is sometimes flaky- some devices always re-connect great, some are not consistent. Also, I sometimes need to turn wifi off and on to re-connect after sleep.
For these reasons I decided to install Lineage 11 which is 4.4 based, so far these things seem more consistent (have not used too long yet though.) Anyway it's amazing to have options for such an old device.
Thank you for posting this! I forgot to check back on this thread, but I'm going to give this a shot and see if I can make it happen.
