Hello. I was messing with my Venue and probably flash wrong software (factory-Venue8_jb4.3_sw-ver.1.16.img.gz) via fastboot.
Now, it is completely dead. Nothing shows on screen, can 't go to droidboot.
When I plug the device to USB I can hear 1 connect voice, few seconds in device manager I can see "Cloverview plus device", and then I can hear 2 disconnect sounds and Cloverview disappear from DEvice maganer.
Is there any way to bring it back to life?

got a streak as a gift a month ago - tried to update from stock 1.6 to 2.2 using guide on streaksmart.com - didnt work. now streak is bricked. no lights, nothing. looked all over online for days now and the furthest ive got is to try to access the quallcomm chip from the laptop but i cant, and i cant run the driver on it either, as told in the bricked streak pdf by ryrules. called dell and they cant help w/o acct name that purchased device - which i cant get (but thats a whole other story). cant even get a charge from what i can tell, qdl tool cant detect usb streak. im able to admit im out of my depth on this one - can anyone out there help?
If it helps, the dell streak service tag should be on the back of the phone when you remove the battery cover.
I phoned Dell today and they are picking up my streak for repair, no charge. And im not the first owner of the device either. Got mine from ebay. All they did was get me to boot into recovery, and try a factory reset. when it didnt complete, they just said they will fix it, for free thankfully.
I tried that - they won't transfer the device to my name w/o verification of original purchaser account name - and won't be able to issue a new free replacement w/o it. Not only do I not have that info, I might not ever be able to get it. thank you for the idea though.

Texas, but I think I could maybe fix it if someone had the right step by step instruction I could follow. Is there another program besides the qdl that can help?
What version of windows are you using. I had a very hard time with windows 7 but took me like 20 minutes from start to finish with a windows XP.

i followed video on streakdroid and
qdl gets to
wait for adb device...
error(d2)wait for adb fastboot mode timeout
please check that device is exist and driver is properly installed
download fail
now what?
That happened on my 1st attempt using QDL. Just unplug Streak, remove battery for @ least 1 minute, place battery & cover back on, hold the button closest to the headphone port while @ same time plugging cable back into Streak, then run again. 2nd time did everything for me. My computer did flash something about drivers installed successfully after the 1st fail, so maybe it installed what was missing. If this doesn't work, use a different USB port.

+1 for that advice. In addition, I wouldn't use a USB hub either.

yes, i did but when i try to update the android adb interface under device manager on my laptop by directing the driver update screen manually to C:\dell\drivers\R288920\Win7 i get an error msg that says
windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device
windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it
the device cannot start (code 10)
seems to be a pattern im stuck in, i cant make it past here yet.
Nm - fixed it w help from irc #dellstreak - had to end up using 2 different qdl tools, but in the end - after a week long struggle w a bricked streak it finally came back on, with 2.2
Please help!!!!

Dont know if you still have this problem, but I transferred registration/ownership to myself on the dell site. It just asks for your details and service tag. Which coincidentally is shown under About Phone, status at the bottom.

I ended up getting it all fixed up with a lot of help on irc. Meralias got me through the last parts, correct drivers and qdl. Then I had beta froyo, which I updated to official. Yesterday I finally got brave enough to try flashing one of dj steve s. glad I did.

Hi guys,
I'll try to keep it brief, so here goes:
The other day I bought a used Dell Streak 5 (I think it's opperator free), black. I knew it had a boot loop, but hoped it would be a quick fix, but I guess not. I can get it in recovery and fastboot mode.
So I have a boot looped Dell streak 5, and tryed different approaches (QDL, fastboot). I downloaded the "350" files and tryed to connect it with the computer (i think it's steps 7 and 8) but that didn't work, even though I installed the (right) tools! The computer doesn't seem to notice the phone attached to the computer. I tryed the original USB cable as well as the cradle (with a micro usb input and spare battery charger).
Also the phone doesn't seem to charge (I do have a spare battery charger, so that's my way around that problem, eventhough it's not what I'd like to use).
So basicly, I'm stuck from here. I read many topics concerning these problems, but obviously I haven't found the solution.
If you need more information to help me, I will post it A.S.A.P.!
Please help me!
Kind regards,
Spitsebeest
When you first open qdl tool. . . . Does it reconize the phone and shows port, with qualcomm port? If not. . . I know you had to go thru some steps to point the port to the right driver in device manager. . . . Let me know if that's the problem. . . . Ill post more specific instructions . . . . Also make sure you adb, drivers, fastboot and qdl tool are in same folder
Here's 2 threads too look over if you haven't seen this info
http://srinicame.blogspot.com/2012/09/unbricking-dell-streak-5.html
Hers a quote from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24896340
"extract the rar file and navigate it once you are upgrading driver. you should see "qualcomm cdma technologies msm" under other devices on your device manager (assuming you are using win7 32bit)
here is the process. 1. device is off. press the volume up button and connect to the computer. 2. go to device manager look for other devices and see if there is qualcomm cdma technologies msm you should have to update it using the driver mentioned above. 3. once the driver were successfully installed you can now use the qdl tool."

First of all, thank you so much for replying!
As far as I know, the pc has never recognized my dell (since I'm not the first user, I might not say "never").
Also the phone doesn't charge with either the docking station (via mini usb) or through the original usb cable (with the computer or wallsocket).
Any idea what it might be?
Kind regards,
Spitsebeest!
[Edit:] I can't download the files, since the links in your hyperlinks seem to be dead [/Edit]
Ill try to find other links. . . . If your phone is not even charging,I wonder if the connector is bad,you can replace them for cheap

Okay to make things worse: It won't even start now. I didn't try anything strange. I can't even get it in engineering mode or fastboot. Tryed it with battery and without, with different (original) batteries, connected to the wall... It still doesn't charge or start. The lights won't even turn on.
Can someone help me? That would be awesome!
Thanks in advance
Kind regards.

i have a similar problem with my nexus 10.
while trying to unlock/root it i think i may have bricked it.
i was able to unlock it then tried to root it and got stuck in a loop where the google dots keep going around.
tried to reboot several times. tried everything i could find.
was able to get into twrp v2.6.3.1 andd found that it has no os.
now when i try to unlock it goes thru the motions but returns to fastboot screen, showing that it is still locked.
im guessing that is because it doesnt have or cant see any os.
tried to mount the system partition but that failed as well.
anyone have any advice. at this point i dont have much to lose

thouston

You should be able to use adb whilst booted into recovery.

Hi guys, I believe I have hard bricked my phone.
I was trying to solve the IMEI lost by installing these bins files (www movilesdualsim dot com/threads/ayuda-con-i9500-s4-with-mtk6589-quad-core-5-0-screen-1920-1080.47124/) using SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1304.0.119, so I was doing so and when SPFlash has finished the phone doesn't boot up anymore. I have tried to flash recovery.img with SP Flash but it doesn't even detect the phone anymore.
When I connect the phone to the PC by USB cable I can heard the connected device sound going on and off and looking the windows device manager I can see a "Alcatel Single RNDIS Interface" device connected but like I said it goes on and off every 5 seconds or so. If I put the battery on the phone it doesn't make any different.
I would appreciate so much if anyone could help me out. I don't usually bother people asking for help but I can't really find how to fix this issue and I don't know if it is even possible to fix it.
Thank in advance

Honest!y i think you should wait a week or so before you install cm so you can see if theres any problems and if any, simply send to warranty.. but if u really want to, theres plenty of guides of how to install mtk drivers for win10 just google it
I tried every tutorial that i found but it doesnt work, maybe you are right to wait an little bit, when there is something wrong with the Phone.
Thank you
i have the same problem. I end up using my old laptop with windows XP which works flawlessly to flash roms.
My advice: use windows XP :silly:
Win 10 does not support unsigned drivers any more
The problem with P9000 not being found has to do with Win 10 not supporting unsigned drivers any more since anniversary update. Find PC with older windows or try a virtual windows PC.
I tried a virtual PC today, but it didnt work also. but that Time i think it was The Problem of the virtual Machine maybe i find someone who has a PC with XP
I found the solution, when you press Volume + and then Plug it in it works.
