Hi everyone, I'm trying to get the official Xiaomi Mi Browser on my device ever since I found out about the floating youtube video option. Unluckly the APK Xiaomi uploaded on APK Mirror is not the Global version and therefore chinese is all over the place. So I searched on xda but the ones I found where really old versions or broken links. Can someone please upload an APK for the Global (english) version of this browser? (Please note that the latest version is 8.8.6, so 8.5.x or above would be much appreciated)
Thanks in advance to everyone.
I have it downloaded from apkmirror and I tried installing it on china rom BUT it says "can't downgrade apps" so I modified it, I changed the version code now it SAYS "conflicting app signatures"
I hate china rom so much.

So here it comes. After some weeks of thorough investigation and digging around on Chinese forums (nobel prize for google translate !!! ) I managed to find solution for people having issues with their Chinese regional version of google-deprived chinese ROM,
I found it couple of days ago on one of the Chinese android forums where one of the users managed to somehow pre-root software and add google support into android.
this seems to be STOCK ROM with added play store, google maps and root. flashing rom DOES NOT INCREASE FLASH COUNTER so seems its built on an official chinese rom.
I AM NOT DEVELOPER OF THIS ROM I JUST MANAGED TO FIND IT ON ONE OF CHINESE FORUMS !!!!
i post it here as solution for people who bought their phones in China or HongKong and suffer from Chinese government's google blockade.
Rom appears to be the same as the stock ZCUAMF4 with google support and few chinese apps added which usually you wont find in Chinese regional systems (translators and dictionaries)
How to flash ?
0)Make sure your phone is i9200 (chinese version, not sure how the rom would react to other regions, in case of mine it works perfect )
1) connect in download mode
2) flash whole tar file through odin (dont worry its not signer with md5. I flashed it and the rom works flawlessly )
If somebody has any questions regarding problems after flashing feel free hittin on me by pm or here.

this is untested version old link got somehow removed in chinese forum try for own risk

i have the same problem with i9200 znuami2 (just slightly newer version of the Chinese ROM i think, no google apps, lots of Chinese crapware).
does anyone a working solution for this.
the download links in this thread are dead.
I was going to buy a Redmi Note 2, but I noticed some of the reviews on Aliexpress say the phone comes with malware and that Chinese advertisements pop up regularly. The reviews say you have to flash a clean Miui ROM to resolve the problem, but I had a few questions about doing this:
Where do you get a clean Miui7 ROM for the Redmi Note 2 from?
Do you need to root the phone in order to flash the ROM?
Are there any step by step instructions anywhere for flashing the ROM?
I'm not really up to date with this sort of thing so I'm grateful for any advice you can offer.
Official ROMs are available from en.miui.com. Please read their forums for info on the different types that are available for the RN2. At the moment there are stable and developer Chinese ROMs available (these contain only U.S English and Chinese), the latter being rooted.
Unofficial multilanguage ROMs are available from xiaomi.eu, in two flavours, stable and developer, the latter having built in root via the security app.
My phone was delivered with a full multi language ROM including UK English language and region available, but it was buggy and had malware, or at least adware that is not present in the official ROMs. I installed an official ROM before entering ANY personal information or accounts.
Go to the download page for the RN2 on en.miui.com, there are full instructions for the various ways to flash a ROM. You do not need a custom recovery, you do not need to be rooted, you can even do it from the built in updater app, even if it's the unofficial multi language ROM that you're flashing.
Thanks a lot for the detailed advice. It looks easy enough, so I'll go ahead and order the phone.
I notice the stable ROM is MIUI6 and the developer ROM is MIUI7. Do you know if they'll be releasing a stable MIUI7 ROM any time soon?
I'm trying to download a clean ROM, but the downloads seem to stop at 3MB or 16MB when it should be 700+MB. Any tips? (This is from the official site... as far as I can see)
Try using a download manager like jdownloader or download from xiaomi.eu
I made a video guide -
I've managed to download the weekly from xiaomi.eu was nice and quick this morning using a French mirror from Androidfilehost.com
All I need now is the damn phone. Lol

Remember guys, to have a super fast download from xiaomi (normaly it's http:// bigota........) you just need to copy/paste the download link to your browser and add a "o" (not a zero), and you'll have fast download

Thanks Andy! Helps me a lot
Do you have mi remote app with it and if so, is it translated in English?
Hi,
first of all sorry for my bad english.
I've both MiPad 2 and Mi4. On the second one i can use "download" function, with MiPad 2 I can't.
I don't think that it's problem about DRM libraries because i've flashed them via TWRP ( vi10plus-widevine.zip file) and now i can use another famous streaming video app in my country (SkyGo) that didn't work before. "DRM info" app confirms they're present too. I think the problem is the version of MIUI: I've tried with the latest China stable version and latest xiaomi.eu (based on China dev version). I would try to flash Global but I think that it doesn't exist for MiPad 2, am I wrong?! Can anyone confirm this?
I hope that some MIUI dev reads this thread and resolve this issue because it's a very big lack for this device.
I thought that if Netflix recognizes the device like an enabled one to go into offline mode, it will work... So I've tricked also with "build.prop" file but with no luck.
Does anyone know if there is a workaround or a way to make Netflix offline work on this device using MIUI???
Many thanks in advance.
What's your current ROM?
I am having the same issue and I am running MIUI 9.6.1.0 LACCNFD.
Had to download the apk for Netflix from Netflix site because it didn't appear in Google Play Store.
Can someone find me how to get the download functionality?

A moderator on the Xiaomi Forum just confirmed that you have a fake ROM. It seems that some resellers are flashing these fake global ROMs in order to sell them as Global.
Well, AFAIC i definitely would like to try this 'fake' ROM. Mine may be very real but also very much in chinese/english only. I wouldnt mind for myself, but my mother not so much. I'm pretty sure this is basically a reseller's modified CN ROM in order to sell as global with added languages.

can you have unlock bootloader and installer twrp and backups for me this rom
please
I received my mi pad 4 with this 'fake' global rom.
I've been using it all day and it's pretty good. It's miui but with integrated Google play out of the box.
If it is just the CN version with Google play services pre-installed then I'll stick with it for now. I don't have the ability to check if there are nefarious modifications made to this rom, but I know I'm taking a risk on it. Also I'm pretty sure there will be no over the air updates for it which is a bummer.
If there was a xiaomi.eu rom available I would flash that straight away.
The official CN image: does this include English at least?
In my opinion, I don't use this unknow chinese mod rom because she maybe contain malware.
Just use official MIUI rom or custom rom made by a good dev like in XDA.
