Snapshare
Share images and videos via Snapchat
Note: This project was seemingly abandoned by stammler, (original thread). I have decided to continue support for for this app, in accordance to the GPL. I will do my best to maintain this project, and to finish the previously left todos.
This Xposed module lets you share any image and portrait video via Snapchat, not only pictures you take with the camera from within Snapchat. When you are viewing an image and click on share, Snapshare will pop up as an option. It will load Snapchat and lets you even paint on the image as if you had just taken it with your camera inside Snapchat. Snapshare will crop your images so they fit into your display.
It uses the Xposed framework to intercept launches of Snapchat from Snapshare and do the magic. Because it uses the Xposed framework, it is device and rom independent
If you find any bugs, please report See the section Troubleshooting/Bugs on Github about which logcat filters would be helpful etc.
Confirmed to work with Snapchat 5.0.11.0 (2014-05-14)
Installation
Install the awesome Xposed framework on your rooted device.
Install and activate the mod, which you can download from the xposed repo or from the the releases tab. Don't forget to do a (soft) reboot.
To Do
Clicking on the upper left X should return to the Gallery, not the Snapchat camera. Minor priority

It works on the latest non beta (4.1.01).
I just released a new version, which has preferences, (rotation, cropping/scaling). Let me know if there are any bugs / problems!
Thanks for the update! The scale thing works great! It does crop pictures if they are beyond a certain width though. But overall it's a huge improvement!

I don't think the new crop/scale/rotate feature works. At least for videos anyway. I was trying to share a video with SnapShare and the video was in the top half of the screen and the bottom half was blank. So I tried every setting to scale or rotate it and none worked. When I tried using Scale, the video wouldn't show at all and it would just say "Video cannot play" or something similar.
It works great with the holo snapchat apk

Thanks for the info. I should have mentioned that the crop/scaling is for images only. I'll edit the main post to reflect that. Also about the video cannot be played, I just tested it then and you are absolutely right. If you cancel q video, the original video will be corrupted. I will fix this asap

Thank you! Will the crop/scaling become available for videos in future? Also I was sending a normal picture taken with my phone camera via SnapShare and I turned the Rotate off and kept scale on but it rotated the picture to the side. So I turned rotate on and then the picture ended up flipped horizontally. I had to screenshot the original picture and share the screenshot via SnapShare for it to work.

Updated. As for the rotation bug, I realise that there is a bug that sometimes doesn't update the settings. You may need to change the settings and change them back again for it to register. I will look into why it is doing this.

Working on a 4.1.01 Beta version or nah?
Gingerbread supportable?
Is it possible to add support for Gingerbread?
Hi all, this is my second Small App Project Called System Monitor Small App for Xperia.
This app's main purpose is to be able to have monitoring info on top of the current activity, so anybody who needs to know whether the data connection is running or not, or the app in testing is too memory/cpu heavy, will be helped by this small App. The Framework is taken from the Fast App Switcher (since you'll see 90% of the UI is clearly the same).
This app will be ad supported with donate IAP link embedded, but with full unlocked feature comes from the beginning.
So Stay tuned, any update will be posted as fast as i can

Hey guys, sad announcement unfortunately.
I knew it was coming soon, since they were actively blocking my mods. I just received a cease and desist letter from Snapchat's lawyers for infringement of their intellectual property. And they're right, I am infringing their intellectual property. I won't be taking any further risks and will comply with their requirements to settle. I have and am going to remove everything, including SnapMod, Keepchat and Snapshare.
It's been a fun ride. I really loved developing it and really improved my skills. But I knew it had to stop some time. I understand they're not happy with it and there's no other option than to honour their requests. I'm going to think of something else to develop, of course it'll be open source. Something like an app (don't know what yet) or rom development for example. New challenges, new things to learn.
I'm going to remove everything from AndroidFileHost and the Xposed repository, ask the mods to close this thread and remove it after a few days, when most of you have had the chance to read this message.
I'm really sorry guys, I hope you understand I have to quit. I do understand them. Thanks for being such a loyal community.

Three questions:
Does it help when you try to share it the second time?
Using Snapshare v2.0.0 stable I assume?
Which Snapchat version are you using?

I've tried a few more times and it works now.
Yes I'm using snapshare 2.0.0 and the snap chat version is 5.0.27.3

Mine didn't actually load the image the first time. I figured it was because I hadn't opened Snapchat in a long while (i.e. wasn't running in the background). After I backed out and re-shared the image to Snapshare a second time, it worked perfectly.
Maybe that counts as a bug. Whoops...
Edit: Duplicated in both the beta and the new 2.0 stable, Snapchat 5.0.27.3.

I have it too, I'll look into it, but it's strange. I thought it did occur in previous versions by amcgavin too.
It occurs when Snapchat hasn't been opened (in a while), however the second time I share it always works.

I found out that for example file managers share videos in a different manner. I added support for that, I hope that solves your problem. That version will be released in several minutes. Please test it and report back.
If it doesn't solve your problem, please enable debugging in settings and share your Xposed Log with me.
To set a black or solid color wallpaper on an Android device, one can use a tiny 1x1 pixel image with the pixel set to that color. This works on most Android devices (including Nexus devices and others that run stock Android). The system knows how to fill the entire screen with that one pixel, giving you a full solid color wallpaper.
However, there are some Android devices that crash immediately after setting the 1x1 pixel image wallpaper:
Unfortunately, System UI has stopped.
Unfortunately, Home has stopped.
Trying slightly larger image sizes (2x2, 3x3, 4x4) also fails. For some devices, you need a 32x32 pixel image to finally get your color wallpaper working.
I just created an open source Android app to test this issue: Minimum Wallpaper. It's available on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ahelloworlddev.minimumwallpaper
Its source code is available on GitHub:
https://github.com/AHelloWorldDev/MinimumWallpaper
So far I have a report with screenshot that on Allview P8 Energy the minimum wallpaper size that works is 32x32. From another project I'm involved in, I have some information that a 1x1 wallpaper also fails on devices such as:
LG: G5, Stylus 2
Meizu: m1 note, m2 note, MX5, Pro 6
My questions:
What could be a reasonable reason that (only) some devices are crashing/failing after setting a 1x1 pixel wallpaper?
What could be the minimum "safe" wallpaper size that should reasonable work on all Android devices?
My kind request: can Android device owners that read this thread - especially if they own one of the above mentioned devices - LG (G5, Stylus 2), Meizu (m1 note, m2 note, MX5, Pro 6) - test the Minimum Wallpaper app and report back the results on GitHub at:
https://github.com/AHelloWorldDev/MinimumWallpaper/issues
Thank you
