This is for all of you who have the "NO SERVICE" message when you insert your micro sim card.
IN THE FOLLOWING STEPS REBOOT IS A MUST
Step 1. Remove the sim and try it on another phone.
Step 2. If it works then check the sim contactors inside the phone (check if the pins are bent enough to touch the sim card).
Re-insert the sim and reboot. DO NOT USE AIRPLANE MODE.
IF IT WORKS STOP HERE
Step 3. If it doesn't work then go get yourself a sim replacement (preferably 128k). I got a regular sim and cut it down to size (worked flawlessly).

Step 4. Get your phone checked up or replaced (lot of defective phone floating around).
Is there any way to prevent Xperia U to restart after sim card has been removed/inserted because this is very annoying although it has a hot-swappable sim-slot. I have seen that the restart is not required as the new sim is detected automatically when inserted & pin code is asked if required. But then the phone restarts.
AFAIK, no such thing as hot-swappable SIM card for Android phones. Some drivers need to be reloaded, gapps won't work if it doesn't restart, etc. Even dumb phones need to restart. The only time I hear this working is if the phone is dual-SIM, where you only swap out SIM2.
I have got a Galaxy Tab 10.1 Verizon LTE (i905) , according to the specification this device support CDMA/EVDO network, but when I insert a ChinaTelecom sim card(CDMA netword), it doesn't work....

i have archos 80 G9 HDD 250GB device.i put archos 3g stick in back of the device. in settings , 3G stick tab , set up sim card lock , Lock sim card is checked and i want to unlock it. i trying default pin and it says "Can't change Sim Card lock state. Possibly incorrect pin". but i enter it on another device and it accept the pin. i change the default pin in other device and again it says that crazy phrase. i really need 3g internet.
My Rom is 4.0.28 root an deodex from surdu petru.
