Hi,
how can I get the sounds of the stock rom? In my case I'm searching for the HTC notification sound "Boolean" which is in the M9 and A9. Found several downloads, but this sound is not included. So how can I get the sound for my U11 from my old phones? Did they really have to be rooted just for copy the sound?
What about this folder /system/media/audio?
Btw. you should be able to copy it but not delete it.
How can I reach that folder on a PC? Tried it with USB debugging activated, but it's still not shown. I also tried it on the Phone (HTC A9) with installed file Explorer (Total Commander), but I can't come up the path to /System.

Generally yes, but it might be possible to extract it from the firmware you download to your computer.
Ok, I will try this. Thank you!

Yes, I have it on mine. I could not copy the file via TC, so I just copied it and went to the Windows directory and pasted it in. You will have to do a soft reset, but it works perfectly.
Verizon
Will this work for Verizon as well? Will it help the speakerphone too? I REALLY would like the speakerphone to be MUCH louder!
Thanks!

Here you go. Just extract the file and copy it directly to the Windows folder and do a soft resest. Do not use Total Commander to copy the file, I have had problems with it that way. Copy it from TC or any file explorer, then navigate to the \Windows directory and copy in the root of that directory.
"I am not sure who the real credit goes to for making this file, but I did obtain it at ppcgeeks.com"
WOW!
That worked GREAT! It is MUCH louder now! Thank you for you help!!!!!
You could also try SRSwowHD. It stopped working on WM6.1 on my Mogul, but it works beautifully on the Touch Pro.
If you try it, just make sure you select the headphones setting and slide the center setting to 100%

First time posting.
I'm trying to copy and paste but an error message appears "Cannot copy "AudioPara3". Access is denied.
Can anyone help me, please?
Cab for audiopara3... it is the lighter version hope it helps... has done wonders for my fuze
Got it work - I think
The file is a zip file and I saved straight into a folder on the phone. I used the zip file program to place it within the windows folder and it certainly sounds louder than before.
Thanks for the help

This one worked well for me. A few other audiopara3 CSV files rendered my system speaker nearly useless...
where can I find the colored top bar for the sprint touch pro
I have tried both options with no success. Will apreciate any help. The first AudioPara 3 indicates me access denied and the lighter version just puts my speaker on a low front a just barely can hear music.
Audioparas can be funny..I had different results with 12 different audioparas..
And now when one of them has worked on my SEX1i, it stops working once I use and plug out my headphone...
Am still looking for an audiopara that will work for me..hehe
I'm not exactly sure this is in the correct section but here goes... I have downloaded different boot animations, replaced the bootanimation.zip file using file expert, made sure the permissions were the same, but when I restart my phone, i keep getting the same old factory one. Is there an extra step that I'm missing?
I forgot to mention, that I am rooted. I thought it was the file explorer program, to I downloaded root explorer, and when I tried to change the name of the original bootanimation.zip, it says that it cant because the file system is read only. Could it have something to do with my problem?

mount the system as R/W before you do anything in /system. it's at the top of the screen in root explorer.
Thanks, that did it. But now instead of the one I downloaded, all I get is the word "android"
NVM I got it now thanks again
I noticed that after upgrading to lastest OTA that the bootanimation sound doesn't play, even the stock AT&T one. The sound files are present, but they just don't play.
Any suggestions?

is this for audio during boot? My phone never played audio during the boot process. I thought it was normal.

yes, but it will be played only if mentioned so in the desc.txt inside the bootanimation.zip at /system/media/
it is unnecessarily complicated now by changing the location to the new one while the config file resides in bootanimation.zip which originally remains at the same old place.
I am very new to all of this. I have posted a few things already about getting webtop over HDMI. I think i am closer. I have the apk files for dockservice and portalapp on my phone using root explorer. It doesnt let me change the permissions or install the apk. I dont really know how to do ABD on a mac. what am i missing?
When using Root Explorer, are you selecting "R/W" at the top before trying to change permissions?

I also have changed two of the .odex files to .bak but i could not find the third. Then I try to install the .apk files and they will not download. I don't know where to go from here

Hi there
You should not install the .apk's like normal installation.
Just copy them into the folder, change the permissions, and rename the 2 files.
Reboot.
remember to remount the folder as R/O after you changed the permissions.
Cool
This is gonna make me sound stupid but is there a special way to reboot? Or do you just turn off the phone?
I turned my phone off and back on and now when I plug in the hdmi cable I get no popular but my monitor instead of saying no hdmi signal, it shows a black screen but recognizes something. I feel like im getting closer!

When you plug it into the monitor, does it do anything on the device? Or nothing?
Try another HDMI port, if your TV has 2....

Cool, what OS version do you have one your phone 2.2.2 or 2.3.4?
i have 2.3.4
Which build version are you using under system->about phone->build number?
Make sure you are using the right files for your phone. Should be 3 different sets of files available in the zip file from the original post.
I am on 4.5.91. I may have put the wrong files on. Shall i delete all the wrong ones and do what i did before?
I just redid what i did before with the correct files. here is the moment of truth...
it is doing the exact same thing as before did i miss a step?
I just want to make sure. Your using the files from the AT&T folder correct? Did you reboot your phone? Did you set the correct file permissions?
Hope it works out for you.
I got my files from Version 4.5.91 Users Go HERE: (This works now.) ATRIX 4.5.91 WEBTOP MOD FILES
i also rebooted and set the correct permissions
Try this instead:

And i do not ever install the apk's?

Man, aint that the truth. Bluetooth audio on the stock rom is awful. Sounds like cheet compared to my tf700/motoactv.

This fixes Bluetooth call quality (should work on most AT&T Roms). Music Streaming is another story.
I'm really looking forward to Lloir's CM 10.1 build to see if there is any noticeable audio quality difference/improvements.

First, go here for steps to root your device:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994961
Read the Original Post very carefully. All the information you need is there and withing the Toolkit.
Then, install ES File Explorer, grant it root access and through that app copy the file (BCM4334B0_002.001.013.0767.0777.hcd) Steve provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102995 to the \etc-firmware folder and rename or remove the original file called BCM4334B0_002.001.013.0488.0607.hcd. Reboot your phone and that's it.
Hope that helped.
bootloader unlocked hot to root it now

I used the utility and unlcked the bootloader ( when i reboot to boot loader it says unlocked ) and i flashed a recovery as well. My understanding was rooting was yet another step.. i dont see instructions for that on that page can you clarify
when i used the es file explorer it did not let me enable the root explorer option saying my phone is not rooted
Later i realized none of this is relevant to my phone which is AT&T HTC 1x + with LTE in the US ( what a waste of time )

Hey guys so I was looking for a way to increase the volume on my Verizon branded G3 with no luck. Tried Viper4Android and even the mixer_path mod but that didn't work. So I looked and found this mod for the G2 which requires editing the snd_soc_msm_taiko. So I tried that and to my surprise it works. What I did was copy the file using root explorer to my sd card and then edited using a text editor on my pc due to file being to large for root explorer. Copied to directory and fixed permissions and after a reboot noticed the difference. Anyways more info is available on the following link --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442883. Make sure you thank them if this helps you.

if you have it working without issue, can you just post the modified file?

How can we use an equalizer? Also some ring tones on max sound a teeny distorted. This speaker is LOUD

I actually use Viper4Android along with this mod as the volume mod for the speaker within Viper4Android doesn't seem to work however the equalizer does.
