Car charger - OnePlus 5 Accessories

I have seen a few threads on XDA with the Oneplus 3/3T with the Ebay Baozu chargers. I decided to take the plunge and order from Ebay a set with Dual charging port (hopefully the other port is a quick charge for my other non Dash device) and red cables for about $24. The expedited shipping was too expensive and decided to take the slower route, but my Oneplus 5 battery has been great. I would have bought it from other websites, but they don't have Paypal, and I don't like using my CC, just to get quicker shipping at a more reasonable rate.
For those who have used these chargers successfully, please chime in.
On another note, I wish my 2016 model vehicle came with Android Auto, but no, the 2017 did as standard, fockers! I rather use the big screen of the vehicle and not deal with any phone holder.

Quick or dash charge is only possible with the one plus dash charger

What about vooc?

I was tempted to buy the official 1+ car charger but decided to skip it since I already had an iOrange-E car charger that I bought a year ago for my Nexus 6p. Now, obviously this is not a dash charger but what I have noticed, as you can see from the attached picture, it has a pretty good charging capacity. Keep in mind that dash charging only works at up to 65% battery capacity before it throttles down, and it also goes down again at 75% and then again at 85% so most of the time the dash charger will be charging at regular charging speeds. So unless you always have the phone at really low battery percentages when connecting it to the car charger, to me there's really no reason to spend a lot of money on one.

I was looking to get an OEM dash charger but after seeing the price I couldn't see myself paying $30 another $7 for shipping. Unless if you really NEED to charge your phone that fast, I don't see the point to spending that much money on a car charger when a good 2.4a one will do the job for about $10 on amazon. I am able to keep my phone charged, use GPS, Pandora and bluetooth with my non dash car charger.

Any updates on Baozu? Was it able to reach a rate close to dash charging?

Charge on the go

Does anyone know if the charger pack u charge to act as a charger for your phone (when not near electricity)is compatible with the note? I've seen them but i didn't know if they are compatible with the note since it has such a large battery. Also does anyone have a link to one?
Sent from my Galaxy Note
I just bought this Anker one from Amazon. Reviews are almost overwhelmingly positive and I can confirm that it does work on the Note just as well as it works on my Atrix 4G.
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-5600mAh...5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1330474615&sr=1-5
Does the higher the amount of mah on the battery pack equate to numerous recharges for your phone(depending on the phone's battery mah)?
Sent from my Galaxy Note
Yup. It's just shy of three full charges for my Atrix, which has a ~1900mAh battery. Should be two charges for a Note, give or take a little bit.
That's great! I just saw one on amazon with 11200 mah for $69 i think im going to get it.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
How long is the charge time on yours? I've never had one so i don't the slightest idea of how long it could take to charge one.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
I was going to get that one, but it was just too huge. I can slip the Anker 5600 I bought into a jacket or pants pocket with the cable and it's just fine. No problems with portability. Charge time is equal to what it'd be from an AC charger in my experience so far, but I only got mine a few days ago.
I meant wats the charge time of the battery pack?
Sent from my Galaxy Note
Haha...sorry. It was about half-charged when I got it (2/4 indicator lights) and took two hours to charge to four lights.
I got the mycharge ones since the cables are built in. 3Ah and 6Ah depending on my needs (1 or 2 nights). I like them even though they aren't 10Ah monsters.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note
Just ordered the anker. I appreciate the info.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
Does it hold the charge or do you constantly have to recharge it?

Most portable USB battery chargers do not support the signals that allow the Note to go to high current charge mode. Pins 2 and 3 of the USB connection need to be shorted with a low resistance. The Note senses this and switches on a high charge otherwise, it will stick to a standard USB charge of less than 500ma even if the battery charger can put out 1A.
I bought a Scosche 5000 mah portable battery charger that comes with a special USB adapter designed for the Galaxy Tab. I tested it with my Note. With the adapter, the Note charges in under four hours. Without the adapter, it takes overnight to charge the Note even though the Scosche has a USB port that puts out 2.1A to charge an Ipad.
Staples sells the Scosche battery for $80 but there is a $29 online coupon that is good until 3/5/2012.
Hmm... I have a rechargeable battery from Monoprice that I use with my iPhone 4 but I haven't tried it with my Note yet. It will probably only charge the battery about half way. Monoprice has good cheap rechargeable batteries to charge on the go if anyone is looking for something similar.
After a few more days with the Anker, it charges my Atrix and my Vivid at least as fast as my AC charger. Probably placebo effect, but it honestly feels like it charges it faster.
Why not just carry a couple of extra batteries and get a charging station for them? Seems cumbersome to have to have one of these attached to your device when you need more juice, when swapping out a battery is quick and has an instant full charge...?

If you're gonna carry something anyway you might as well just have a single, spare battery instead of a power pack plus a cable. The Note has such an easy back to pull off and swap. Bing-bang-boom.

As someone who used to do this exact same thing with the captivate, it's definitely convenient to carry, however the interruption while you take off the case, remove the cover, replace the battery/reboot, can get annoying especiallky if you're right in the middle of doing something.
I'm getting ready to take a long plane flight, and I bought some battery packs from monoprice just now, with the intention of using one of them up front while I use the phone, so we'll see how that goes.

Note sure if it's just me, but the minute or so that my phone is down to swap the battery and reboot seems much more appealing and convenient than having a battery pack dangling by a cord from my phone for multiple hours while it charges, or keeps it charged.
Not to mention how many spare batteries you could buy for the price of one external battery pack.

I actually agree partially, however I just found out that monoprice.com sells 2800mah battery packs for like $13 each. I just bought three:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10833&cs_id=1083311&p_id=7664&seq=1&format=2
That said, I likely will still buy an extra regular battery that I can just carry in my pocket. The main reason I'm going with the external batteries is because I'm getting ready to go on a trip with 15 month old twins to europe, and I can use these external packs to power up both my phone, and my touchpad (Which I need for playing childrens shows)

Duracell Powermat review for the PadFone X

This is the best mat you can find right now.
The Powermat by Duracell works well and charges just as fast as the USB charger or the tablet dock . I picked one up on amazon brand new for about $18 ( plenty still around
I picked up the 4s and portable charger bundle for a steal. This is using the standard backplate that came with the phone. Many cell phone reps will tell you the phone doesn't come standard with wireless charging and try to sell you the folio as a "wireless charging bundle" for $70,don't be fooled!.
Alignment is good, natively the Duracell branded cases and portable charger have a magnetic pull to the phone to keep it in place. When placing the PadFone on the plate there is no magnetic pull. Make sure you lay evenly. The wireless charger will make a beep to let you know it has a handshake with the device.
Works flawless so far, no complaints.
Update #1 Turns out the Padfone X is only PMA compliant, This wireless charger is apparently one of the only ones available. There are different styles of powermat available. But no Qi compliance.
Update #2 This kit also came with the iPhone 4/4s adapter and a PowerBar, the power back can be attached to either a Padfone Tablet station or the Asus Bluetooth Padfone keyboard to provide "passthrough" charge.
Sent from my ASUS PadFone X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks for posting this review! I just ordered the exact same thing from Amazon yesterday and I wasn't sure if it was going to work. I was completely skeptical since just the Powermat is normally $50 through at&t.
Grab one at that price while you still can, less than $20 got me this whole set

Thanks for the heads up. Just picked up my new padfone X tonight after my beloved skyrocket fell and broke the screen. The rep thought the same thing about the wireless charging that I needed a wireless case. I asked to test out the 50 dollar duracell charging pad and sure enough "beep" and I was charging with just the phone out of the box. Nice find. This is a win win cause I also have an iphone 4s for my afterhours phone support for my job. Utter win here.
Thanks again.
:victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::good:
Powermat charges fast but alignment is finicky
I also bought the iphone 4 powermat bundle from Amazon. I do like the audible and visual confirmation you get when it starts charging the device. Also it beeps when the device is fully charged. But overall you need to place the phone just right on the pad otherwise it beeps on and off and you end up taking extra time just to make sure it's charging. I owned a Nexus 5 before my Padfone and QI charging is a lot better you just drop the phone on the pad and it charges no problem never had to adjust the phone for it to charge.
But I waited forever for the Padfone to hit the US, so I can live with the charging issue.
After a while you figure out the sweet spot for charging hence the phone doesn't magnetically lock to the powermat, but when you connect, you'll have a full charge in no time
I also purchased the Duracell Powermat and it charges the phone fine, however one problem I have is that it seems to Overcharge the phone. I know this because of two things
1. "Battery Doctor" App reports that the phone had been overcharged
2. Phone is very warm/borderline hot to touch when I pull it off the charger in the morning
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am concerned because overheating shortens the battery life of these phones so I want to prevent that. this does not happen when I charge via USB.
Battery doctor app is not a good representation for phones that support qi or pma charging. The phone will get warm, but not alarmingly warm. The science of contactless charging.
These are still available for under $20 with free shipping, looks like. A great buy for sure.
I received mine before I ever even got my PadFone X. With the issues arising theoretically being theoretically linked to charging the phone and station together for long periods, this frees up the included charger to charge the station by itself.
Can't thank the OP enough for passing on this find!
Just my two cents, but....

I have an old Samsung Qi wireless charging pad, and my Padfone S works with it. I will admit, the powermat charger is much faster - but Padfone S does support Qi chargering pads. Not sure about Padfone X.

I'm not noticing this issue with my Padfone S. In fact, my old Samsung phone (Qi standard) did get warm, but Padfone S doesn't.
For that matter, my Padfone S doesn't heat up when I have it tethering a wifi data connection to my laptop or other portable devices. I've only felt my Padfone S heat up on 2 occasions - both of which I was in a dead zone and the phone was powering up the antenna to try to get a signal.

N6 & The Samsung Wireless Charging Pad

I work @ T-Mobile and love talking about how cool my nexus is to the iPhone users lol, anyways when we got the demo Samsung Galaxy S6 we also got a demo wireless charging pad that we are selling now, and I put my nexus 6 on top and it charges it I know there is cheaper/better alternatives but heres the link in case anyone is interested
The pad doesn't even charge the s5 or note 4 without an aftermarket battery back ??? Go nexus

I used one at BestBuy and didn't like it. The charger is slower than my TYLT or LG WCD-100, plus its rather large for a disc charger. I would consider one at $20 but certainly not $60

Woah woah woah.. I have a TYLT and it is garbage. I would say the TYLT charges at 1amp or less , while the pad charges slower than my turbo charger but faster than a 1amp. But, agreed. def Over priced.

Mine works well, I use or never night. I checked the charging rate via a battery monitoring app and the TYLT will charge at around 893-970mAh while the Samsung was around 650mah. It is definitely over priced however I got line on sale for $35 so I don't mind
I as well work at Tmobile ?
I Use the tylt vu to charge my phone overnight.. I like how it charges my phone slower than the quick charge since it is on there all night long.
The Samsung charger is nice and its $50 from Tmobile store and its nice to have the ability to include it in your monthly payments of your phone so u don't have to fork out the money up front.
I'm going to be getting one of the Samsung disc chargers and a spare center console lid for my car and I'm going to fit it into the lid so it is recessed and all I have to do to charge my phone is sit it on the center console

How much would I have to pay to get one? Might go today and check it out after work. Tho $50 is a bit to much for a wireless charger.

I highly doubt the $50 over price QI charger goes higher than 1amp. Highly doubt it

I get over 700ma with a $12 charger :good:
You guys understand that QI chargers are very simple devices? Unless it does something special, paying more than 20-30 for one is crazy.

I haven't seen any qi charger go past 1A for phones yet. The TYLT is nice to use for overnight charging, however if I'm in a rush or decide to flash a bunch of stuff and need a charge I use one of my quick chargers. I love wireless charging, but I'm still not convinced on the high cost of the Samsung charger after using one. My TYLT was %50 off so that's worth it to me because it's also a stand in a sense. Unless Samsung has something hidden up their sleeve then I'll sit this round out. I like Samsung products (my Ativ book 9 plus is excellent) but I wish they had a stand but a disc qi charger.
I work at Best Buy and have tried it out. Doesn't charge through my wallet case so makes it useless for me. The nexus orb works much better and charges it faster than others I have tried.

S8+: Does it matter what brand you use for a WIRELESS CHARGER?

Should I use the one by Samsung so as not to degrade the battery?
or it doesn't matter at all?
What brands would you recommend?
It doesn't matter. I use 2 official wireless chargers and one 3rd party pleeson brand.
Not one difference.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I don't know, after the latest system update on verizon my 3rd party wireless charger stopped working. Only charges about 20% then stops.
Shouldn't be. But I'm waiting for the new convertible one to be on sale.
No problem with my choetech stand fast wireless charger.
The S8 supports most wireless chargers, but it's best to make sure the charger you pick was made for at least the S7 if you want to get the wireless fast charge function.
The transmitter for the wireless charger also needs to line up with the right spot on your phone or it might not make a proper connection. I had this issue with my S6 where the spot on the phone was lower than the charger, so I had to put something below the phone to line it up with the charger.
Just saw this fast wireless charger deals on Slickdeals! Hope useful for you: https://slickdeals.net/f/10178316-choetech-qi-wireless-charging-stand-for-galaxy-note-5-s8-s7-s6-edge-and-more-16-ac-fsss?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1
I snagged the official 2017 wireless charger for a steal at best buy. I showed them an online add from cdw and they took it!!! Only cause it was the last one in stock and they wanted to slang it quick. Lady at the register was surprised I got the deal.
Bought a Tronsmart Chocolate Bar charger. Works just fine, though I plan to move the charger circuit (replacing the microUSB port with a soldered USB cable or even a QC3.0 power brick) into a 3D printed phone stand.
I have a normal diy wireless charging coil. It heard up more than it charges.
I bought a Black Web wireless charger from Walmart originally as a temporary charger until we got in the Samsung one. Honestly not going to bother. It works well enough, no heat and holds the phone at 100% once charged.
I looked around on Amazon and it seems to be identical to several they sell, just different branding.
I'm content at the moment, was only $20.
My Nexus 6 charger worked only at normal speeds. I like the magnet in it so ordered magnets to attempt to modify the Blackweb charger. They aren't necessarily needed, just something I want to attempt.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0+ Chargers?

Are any of these on the market? I can't find them for the life of me.
Same here. Been checking amazon every other day, can't find squat for QC 4. Remember the 4+ is the safety features on the phone, don't believe there will be "4+ chargers".
I can only find QC3 in chargers or battery banks.
I did find Razer chargers for 25$ on amazon... Which is decent, I was afraid they might charge like 40 bucks.
Only one I have found is the one razer sells for 39.99
Sent from my Phone using Tapatalk
Yeah I was looking for Ravpower/Anker/Aukey ones however they dont have anything QC4+ yet. Not that i bought the power bank for the phone as ive yet to go low enough on the battery during a working day where i have had to plug the phone in for a charge. 45mins or podcast/music 30mins lunch of netflix and 45mins at the end of the day for podcasts/music and sending the odd email or message during the day battery hasnt took a hit for needing anything to carry around.
Question
I would need a 2nd charger to keep in my bag and it raises the question of does QC4+ require a certain USB cable or will any longer USBC work fine as i was going to use the supplied one for out and about as its 1m and buy a larger Nation Union one like 10m for my room but didnt want to stress a cable or blow the phone or charger.
I found this link however most brands have only QC3 - https://www.ravpower.com/qc.html
00178273 Hama "Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 4+" Charger, maybe this one is Q.C. 4 charger but for selected country
As far as I know Razer Phone 2 is the only phone that ships with a QC 4.0 charger and it probably is the only one available right now. It is available for $24.99 in the US at Razer.
Found one at Amazon.com for $15.99. Though, it isn't of any reputed brand, the reviews are good. Also it ships to India for around $29.
I could find a QC 4.0 car charger on AliExpress with both USB A and C ports. Not sure how genuine their claim is. Price $7.33.
Apart from that there are makers of QC 4.0 chargers but they don't specify how to buy them.
1. Portway Technologies
2. Everwin
Note: I have noticed that these chargers require a USB Type C to Type C cable.
