I have this problem for some time, but now it has gotten worst, when I connect any headphone I see the the notification, but when I take it out the celphone still the same as if it nothing happed. Sometimes I try connecting and disconnecting it again and google assistant opens, or music starts. It is soved by doing a hard blow inside the headphone jack, I believe it is a hardware problem cause I have already changed rom, using AEX on the moment. Anyone knows how to solve?

Clean your headphone jack with something like a cotton swab.

Hi! I have a problem with my m4. The mic seems to turn off when i switch to loudspeaker during a call or if i start a fb messenger call with camera on. However the mic works fine with normal calls, i can record, use google speech etc. Mic test succeeded. Safe mode on and the same thing happens. I have put newest rom for central europe 26.1.A.2.147, wiped all possible data via flashtool and even on clean phone without any apps the problem still exists. I did not change any settings or so. It is just the mic not working when i wany to use loudspeaker ( the onr on the bottom of the phone). I also had issues with lower volume levels than in other m4, but here the rom update might help - i will see in fee days as i did rom update today. Do You have any idea what is wrong? The phone never had contact with water etc.

I have the same Issue, I already made a hard reset but the problem remains. Have you had any progress on this?
Totally nothing. I hope service will fix it.
Same Problem here
Guys did found how to fix this?
Hi, guys.
I had the same issue but it has fixed itself already. Yesterday I wanted to show my friend that on loudspeaker 2nd mic doesn't work but... It worked. I was shocked, I hadn't done anything special. Maybe it was some app issue that is uninstalled now, or that was a virus? I don't know, however it works now.
I m also facing the same issue on my m4 my voice doesnt goes through loudspeaker mode during calls.
I went to the service centr n they r also failed to solv this problem.

Sony microphone doesn't work with loud speaker on
I'm having exactly the same problem with my Sony Xperia M4 Dual Aqua. When the loud speaker (audio output) is on, the microphone doesn't work anymore. I can't be heard by the person on the other end of the phone. Has anyone found a fix to this? The phone has 2 microphones, so maybe there's a conflict with the speaker and microphone or maybe the second microphone doesn't work - anyone got any ideas?
Anyone solved it yet?
I have e2333
I removed memory card and restarted phone, and it worked, i think memory card is interfering with noise cancellation mic, bcoz when you test the mic with audio recorder, you will find noise cancellation mic is low

Thx for sharing,i tried to do this but still like before. I have e2333 too,n it had marshmallow official update last night but didnt solve the problem
it has nothing to do with any software issue or any thing with memory card. all it has to do is with its headphone jack. it permanently recognizes that a headset with mic is connected so it lets the primary mic non functional. and it is probably due to moisture in the motherboard connecting the jack or may b due to numerous fall from heights that lets the jack very lose. try inserting a headphone leave that headphone for a while let ur device get heated up by heavy use or over charging. then remove the jack test the mic again it shall work. if not repeat the procedure again and again till it works. and this method has been tested by me as well as several other users in my proximity. so all the best guys hope it works for ya too. important thing is it might stop working again. so keep repeating

Hi guys,
I just got an VS985 and I'm already fighting with him.
I got the following issue: Everytime I try to make a call, the "headphone" icon will appear in the notification area and the call will work, but witout any sound. If I put speaker, I'll be able to listen without any problem, but disabling will have the previous result.
After the call ends, the icon will remain in the notification area.
If I try to call with headset, 0 problem, everything ok. The issue appears to be that the phone doesn't detect when a headphone is actually connected or the headphone jack is faulty, but I'm unsure.
I've heard that the G3 has general issues with the headphone jack, but mainly on the Pause button working by its own, not the same as this.
I tried updating to 5.1 (35B stock) and the result is the same. Whatsapp calls show the same behavior. There's any known fix for this? (the headphone hole is clean) If I replace the headphone jack might solve the issue? (I have no problem replacing it, I repair cellphones).
Thanks for your time!
BB
Well, I ended up opening and apparently it was refurbished and the contacts of the headphone jack werernt that great, also there was some double sided tape on them.
Clean it, forced the contacts a little bit more open and voila everything works.
btw, strange system for the jack contacts.
Hello,
I own the mobile and the MIUI version is 8.0.5 Global Stable.
Yesterday I was testing an Intex speaker and I plugged the jack into the phone to play some songs(earlier I've done and had no problems). I didn't notice since when the headset mode has turned ON but definitely it has to be from yesterday.
The headphone icon is persistent at the top of the screen(sometimes headphones with mic and sometimes with only headphone icon). Either way, I am unable to process calls and music and videos. I tried some third party app from playstore and of course I could override it to play music and videos but coming to the calling, it fails and starts flashing/toggling and the sound I hear is distorted as if it's continuously toggling between ON and OFF condition.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Till now I've tried cleaning it for any dust particles, reboots, plugging in and out but none has succeeded.
I don't think it is the dust because I can easily able to override and play music and stuff.
The device has locked bootloader if in case someone suggests a solution and need this info.
Thanks.
You can use the Soundabout app as a temporary fix.
Back up all data and then you can perform a hard reset or clean flash with miflash

Performed factory reset but didn't succeed.
Bootloader is locked so I'm planning to downgrade to 8.0.1.x
is your problem only for Intex speaker or all 3 pin aux connecter
may be you are no problem with 4 pin connector
1) Firstly Check the Audio jack Some times from Dust or Small damages..........
2) Go back the previous Rom Official Rom link
V8.0.1.0.LHOMIDG
V7.3.7.0.LHOMIDD
if these steps didn't helped you before unlocking the boot loader &fix this issue from root access Contact service center
if I helped you to solve the problem Hit Thanks!

The problem is not with the connectors.
By default the phone thinks as earpiece or headphones are connected.
When I try to play music or call, the headphone icon on top of the screen starts flashing as if I am plugging in and out continuosly.
Flashed previous ROM which is 8.0.1.0. Still, the problem persists.
i have the almost same problem, but with one difference - after plugging a headphones music stops playing and google app starts

Hi all
I'm on the latest MIUI China Dev ROM. For some reason, my headphone icon is always showing that it's connected, and I can't hear calls. When I plug headphones in, all I hear is static.
When I unplug the headphones the icon briefly disappears and then comes back. I've tried to clean the headphone port and and plug/unplug headphones over and over to no avail.
Any ideas?

Even i have the same problem.. Guy at the service center told me its a hardware problem & asked for 45 days to fix it. At gaffar market, karol bagh they are asking for 1500 rs.. But there is a workaround.. Download & install SOUND ABOUT.. And select call from earpiece only.. But u need to be rooted.. Hope that helps..

I think this is not a hardware problem, I am also suffering the same problem am on latest global beta....for qiuck fix I insert & eject head phone 2,3 times till the icon disappeared.. hope xiaomi will fix it soon in next update.
Greetings. Phone appears to be stuck on headset mode, even when headset is not connected. As a result, the device's main speaker does not produce any sound while the front speaker does not function during a call. As a workaround I am using the SoundAbout app to redirect audio to its respective speakers, however I would love a have a more permanent fix. I've tried 2 different roms and the problem persists on both. (Umang96's Unofficial rom with Radon kernel and, what I'm running now, the latest official nightly for my device with stock kernel). If a headset is conencted it works flawlessly, so I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem. I tried cleaning the audio jack using a cotton bud, but it didn't help. Can someone point me to a solution for this ? Thanks for your time in advance.
ps: My device is the Kenzo variant.
That's funny, I had the same problem this morning. Over here I poked inside the audio jack with a tooth pick and blowed compressed air it. It seemed tout have fixed it, for now anyway. (It just suck I wiped my whole phone before trying this)
