Hi! I have Sony xperia m4 aqua and I recently changed the Loudspeaker because it had bad sound. When i installed the new speaker and turned the phone back on the sound problem was gone, but I don't have network. It says emergency calls only and I can't call anyone or be called by anyone. Searched a lot on the web but no luck so far. Tried to manually register network from settings-mobile networks-search networks but no result. I changed the sim card, no change. Restarted the phone many times.
Please help!
Maybe you forgot to connect antenna or some connector inside phone during replacing of earphone.?You will need to open again phone to inspect all connectors inside.

There's a a little progress. I opened it again and reatached the signal anthena cable on the downside(which you can reach after removing the loudspeaker). Maybe it got loosen after removing the bad loudspeaker. Turned the phone back on and it found network. But now there's another problem. The strength of the signal is not full and the Wi-Fi isn't there or it founds it for a little bit and then it's gone. So I'm wondering now if this little cable is the problem and should I try to change it.
P.S. Bulgarian too
Maybe you should check WiFi antenna if it's properly connected, inspect visual cable for cracks and etc. If WiFi work fine before changing of loudspeaker, then should work now if everything is good connected. Try to reconnect all connectors inside phone.

Yes it worked fine before changing the loudspeaker. I just opened it again it visually I don't see anything that isn't good connected. The only thing i can think of is maybe this cable
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Signal Antenna Repair Guide - which is on youtube
could be damaged, but i'm not sure and don't know how could've damaged it. I don't know. If you like i can take a pic and upload it.
Yes, take photo to see if I can help or somebody else with more experience .

Here it is (after removed battery and loudspeaker)
You should inspect both coaxial cables connected at left and right. Maybe there are not good connected, try to reseat both of them on both sides to see if this will helps. Use magnify lens (лупа) to inspect cables and connectors more precisely.

This is a English based forum. Tiny white cable is for antenna. Check both cable and connectors.

Did she drop the phone by any chance? Or has she taken it into the water? No matter how much Sony claim their phones to be waterproof, they're never 100% waterproof especially when they get older (the heat from charging/general use loosens the glue/seals a bit).

Is your loud speaker working?
I believe the speaker is built into the same unit as the mic. If the loudspeaker isn't working either, then it's an issue with the cable. If your mic is dead and loud speaker is working, then it's a lot harder as that board is quite a pain to replace.

After replacing my touch screen the internal speaker is not working anymore. I can only find external speakers for the TP2 on sites like ebay.
Anyone who knows how to find this part?
Now I can only use the external microphone to communicate. I just noticed that when I am charging the battery and switch from external to internal speaker, the telephone stops charging. (Charging light indicator is orange when I use internal speaker and is off when I switch to external speaker) Could this mean that something is wrong in the elec. scheme?

First of all hard reset and use your phone with no extra progs.
THen if the issues insists go there
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=...h+pro+2&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
and ask everybody on that list if they can get the internal speaker you need.
most probably it is common , and someone just needs to go into the trouble of finding exactly which model it is!
I am pretty confident it is gonna prove to be the same as the diamond 2 (maybe you recall from when you opened it up if it is the same!)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ORIGINAL-HTC-...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item4cf4235b37
An since you are already familiar with it, why not give it another go with dismantling the phone and putting back together (maybe a loose connection somewhere?!)
Thnx!
It is the part in the first link you gave me. I couldn't find it cheaper as that ebay link! It a used part, but if it works it's good enough
This instruction video helped us a lot with replacing the screen. (and braking the speaker :s)

what can i do?
Has anyone had issues with the external speaker on the i9100?...
Mine will sometimes work for a few seconds then cut out...sometimes it won't even do that, just emitting a "click", like when you unplug a connection...ringtones never work (ever)...(and no, it's not on "silent")
The headphone jack works fine (and has been replaced already), and I've tried the "plug in plug out" solution. The call speaker (against the ear when on a call) works fine, and the Mic works fine....
I'm running cm10 and the latest siyah kernel, but this was happening when I was on stock and not rooted....
I replaced the speaker, and it worked perfectly for a day or so, then....not so much
Everything else is smooth as, and it's a great phone....would just be nice to be able to hear it ring is all...
(posted in AU s2 thread to no avail....)

did you recheck your speaker? maybe there was a loose wire or something.. there is a possibility that it may be a motherboard problem but i highly doubt it

all good now! i replaced the usb flex. when comparing the two boards, the new one has a slight curve in it that seems to bring the contacts closer to the speaker ...don't know if it's by design, but it works....my phone rang for the first time in ages this morning, and it scared the crap out of me
So i checked dozens times if the jack socket is ok and it is, also the motherboard pads looks ok, but i can't make any headphones to work anyway.
They don't get detected, ones or twice they worked for 1 second, and then it's only rugg noise.
no idea anymore. No any garbage inside. Everything look clean and cool.
I also flashed and rooted it with 2 different roms. Didn't help.
Pls help.

hardware issue, you must need a technician
Could the IC get wrecked? It should not cause the speaker works normal. I can hear all voices and music.

Maybe the headphone jack sensor got damaged. Does the headphone icon appear on the status bar when plugged? If not, then this is likely the issue.
Where is jack sensor?? How does it looks like?

The jack it's attached to the upper part of the board. You'll have to open the phone. And it is covered in plastic. If it's damaged then you'll probably have to replace it.
With EdwinMoqs and Artas' roms volume output can be high enough to cause clipping, which is often accompanied by false headset removal event. You have to carefully adjust the maximum safe volume level, but in the end it's still louder than stock rom which is crippled by EU and probably US regulations.
I can adjust volume via headset button, with the Headset Button Controller app. Setting max volume to 80-90% should do. The clipping protection in poweramp wasn't effective, it did the job with Artas' rom.
Problem can also be caused by a switch, which should be under one of the contacts in the jack, and can be reached with a needle(i never checked how it looks inside the jack). Also the plug should fit in to the hilt. Something might block the plug, the spindle with the contacts be too short. If you get the plug fully in and still see the spindle you're safe.
Socket looks like connecting, i can see pins moving. And i was shorting some last pins and it didn't said headphones is on.
There's a new feature in Android from 5.x or 6.x up, called Pressy Mode. It does exactly what the problem is here, and it can be controlled by Headset Button Controller app.
Probably intended for using the headset as antenna for a built-in tuner solely.
Ok, thank you all to trying to help me. I fixed this, it is working for now, i don't know for how long.
I connected for couple of seconds left channel and/or right channel by wire to the grounded Metal shield on board, and it started to detect headphones every time for now. The wire is not needed for constant working. I don't know how it worked. Also, motherboard was just a little moving over socket, so it was needed to make it hold still. I puted some little plastik on board so it pressed to the back. Works for now. I just dont know for how long. But there are still some little scrathes noises so it must be faulty IC or something in way from controller to the socket. The speaker has no scratch noises, works normal. but elements looks normal no green rust or anything.
Hello, for a while now my phone is stuck on headphones mode and Im completly lost as I've sort of tried everything I can. the headphones logo is always on the status bar, when connecting headphones with mic, the logo changes to headphones with mic, but when pulling off the logo changes back to regular headphones. When connecting and disconnecting headphones really fast, sometimes the headphones logo disappears for a second, but them coming back again in an instant. I tried cleaning the aux port, tried opening the phone and check if all the parts are connected well, tried to completly wipe my phone and install another custom rom, nothing works. I assume that the problem is hardware and not software, but when connecting and disconnecting headphones, there's a little change, I wonder if maybe there's anything I can do.
Please help me, thanks in advancd.

If you look closely in the headphone jack, you'll find a tiny gold contact pin, which is just lined with the inner circle. Check it if it's like moved in

As far as I can see, everything is as it should be, but there contact pins all around the port, do you have any way to upload a picture of the pin you mean? Thanks.

See that shining gold pin? I'm talking about them. There must be about 2 or 3 like them. Sometimes the pins are pushed inside, which gives permanent signals of headphone connected. Getting them straight can be tough, since you have to take a really thin thing like a needle or so and then with it bend them a tad outwards.

I am not quite sure, maybe you should contact a technician. This is hardware malfunction, and nothing related to software. I had the same problem with another phone and thats what i did, but since it's tough to look in the jack of this phone, so it would be better to see a technician.
I had the same issue long back but it used to go away when i repeatedly insert and remove earphones fast for 15-20 times.. Thats the only thing worked for me
ya, i am also facing same problem that's why i change my headphone. and now its work properly, i think it's a headphone jack problem. but not all headphones work only few headphones work properly
SOLVED

I had faced the same problem, at last, I found the solution...
it isn't a software problem...
follow the instructions...
- try to clean up the jack holder with a pin or any pointed thing (mind it be care full while cleaning, be gentle)..
may this trick helps you...
just replace the headphone jack. you can get them cheap from aliexpress.com at $2 - $3, then get it changed from a mobile repair shop.
Had the same problem - cleaned the jack with a toothpick - issue resolved in no time.
Hello,
I opened my phone to replace the microphone because people were telling me they can't hear me well on the phone.
I followed instructions on ifixit and succeeded to replace it without any trouble...but...after that none of the cameras or flashlight were working
I ordered new ones but still not working...I think I might have broke something in the motherboard as they are related. Everything else is working fine.
Any ideas of what I might be missing here?
Thanks
I would open it again and double check that the cameras and light are still connected properly. The flat connectors can be tricky and look like they're connected but they haven't actually clicked in.
