HOW TO INSTALL:
Device with ROOT(OLD METHOD):
- Copy the apk in your phone
- Install it from the archive manually
- Expects that the application is installed
- Using RootExplorer or similar enters in data/overlays/ and delete the folder "preferences"
- Then in data/overlays/jsonfiles/trialjson cuts the bobcat.xxx.json file
** and paste it in data/overlays/jsonfiles /userjson
- restart
- Go to the Theme Store Samsung and apply
- done
Device without ROOT(OLD METHOD):
ATTENTION
Repeat the procedure every time you restart your phone...with the new firmware that does not work properly
- Download from the Play "Package Disabler Pro (Samsung)"

- Search for "Theme" delete cache and data and block:

For a new theme,
open "Package Disabler Pro Samsung" and unlock:
- Apply the theme in Trial version
- Reboot
- Open Package Disabler Pro
- Search for "Theme" delete cache and data and block:
1. com.samsung.android.themestore
2. com.samsung.android.themecenter
- repeat the procedure
New Method (THX @envy~ )
the oreo themes have the patch that blocks the test timer.
Apply in test mode and use method 2 to avoid seeing the themestore error when the countdown starts

to block themes without external applications.
1. Go to "Settings/About phone/Software information" 7 Click on "Build number" and activate "Developer options".
2. Apply the theme in Trial version
3. Go to "Developer options/Running services" click on "Themes" and do STOP and OK
Do not open the "Wallpapers and Themes" menu ....theme remain locked until next reboot.
if you do not see the theme in the list,
the secret is to always install an original theme before the BoBCaT themes.

How to Install android Pie Theme
With ROOT
To install themes on devices with ROOT (including Note8 / S8 (+), finally they began to appear in the store !!!). Themes must be installed through this program "Custom OneUI Themes for Samsung Galaxy *ROOT*". When installing, it is patched and the trial period is immediately removed. After that, apply the theme as usual, through the theme store.

Where all entitled to one...trust me. Im very outspoken. I just think these guys work hard amd share "their" work without obligation and its not something they wanna hear. Not looking to stir a pot but ive been around, tested many roms, themes and its just not a good thing to here. Imagine you built a house and let people stay there for free cause your that type of person and someone says this house is a p.o.s. would u want them staying again? Just saying and putting my 2 cents in...

Yup, you're right here. I should have suggested what he should improve on. Sorry for actually being this rude, my bad..
As a matter of fact, I like the System UI colors of most themes, but what should be changed is definitely the icons and the clock widget, they just look dated.

Also he has removed quite a lot of things that should be mentioned that have been removed
The only apps (that usually appear in the drawer) left are
contacts, phone, messaging. settings, setup guide, gallery, camera, play, xperia play, explorer, downloads, music, pspocket, superuser
You can't even change the wallpaper or change the horrible pink/purple color Also no TTS.
i understand this is a v1 release and addons are coming but imho this should be mentioned on the OP.

Ok let me explain some things.
I used windiff to compare this rom and the main differences are all the apps including ones that should be left are removed 6 edits to build.prop and a framework change.
You are raging over nothing i am just merely stating that this rom is not that different. so the original creator deserve the thanks.
SD Card doesn't even auto mount < bug
Has horrible purple color < yuck
Really Fast < NICE
Link2SD < doesn't work just like with NXT rom.

Thirdly my ROM was coming out before yours however i have a issue which i am fixing. check "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30184872&postcount=30" you will see the date is before yours. I had to go job center so have not fixed the issue yet.

In an effort to bring the XDA community together (& to bring our themers together), I encourage anyone to get involved with any Mods, Themes, and Wallpapers you want to share with your XDA family. If you are interested in theming your own AOSP Contacts & Dialer, these are the recommended tools (Level of Difficulty: 2/10)
Required/Recommended Tools (I recommend using Google to find these tools):
7-Zip
Paint.net, Photoshop, or Gimp (I personally use Paint.net...)
Contacts.apk
Apktool (Optional, but will needed if you want to change xml color codes)
SecPhone.apk (Optional, as theming Contacts.apk alone will theme SecPhone.apk by default)

*Note* You don't need to decompile contacts.apk to theme it. Just drag the images/folders out of the apk into a folder on your computer using *7-Zip*, open the folder and start editing with Paint.net or whatever photo editing program. Once you are finished edting the folder, use *7-zip* to drag those images/or folder back into the apk and move on to the next set of images. EASY stuff here guys. Be Creative!!!
For the newbies & rookies and anyone who wants to get involved with this project, here is the AOSP Contacts Template.

You can also use metamorph as an alternative. Users will have to extract, navigate to morph/system/app/contacts.apk/res and they can recolor or swap any of the files, rezip and flash.

But I cant send the phone for manufacture repair because the screen is broken (theming with a broken screen, fun stuff.)
I just went ahead and paid the deductible and had a replacement shipped over night.

It will be fun guys. Its simple once you get into the groove. You guys can create the apks for your already published themes. Or create whatever your imagination desires. I am an athlete so im sport minded. Just be creative.
&& since my top themers responded back to back at #6 & 7, you guys can add your themes to your post so youll be in charge of your own postings & links. Maybe ill put up a reference link or table of contents in posts 3 or 4 ! Thank you guys and lets have fun with it.

I wanna see you make an Ohio State Buckeyes. Its a fun project and you can customize your apk any way you like with any Ohio State image. We gave you an aosp template in the OP with instructions and Ice has already released 5 in one day. You can do it.... Once you start the project you can hit us up if you need help.

I second this. I do believe that ohh_trenton is right, you guys need to learn how to do some of this on your own. One of the goals of this project is to get you guys involved. This mod isn't difficult, the more you learn the less you have to depend on us. That's how I got my start theming.

Not bad at all and its even easier because theres a template on the original post. Just look at the image format (such as png) and replace it with another png image with the same width or height (you can go a little lower or higher I personally like to make it the same.)
I never themed a AOSP app before and it only took me a couple hours to do (I work at verizon with customers in and out and also do photoshop and editing.) So any of you guys can do it too!
You may think, "well your a recognized themer." But I havent themed since the droid charge days running gingerbread. I had less then 300 thanks before I got the note ii and released elegant and illuminate. On top of that I learned aroma coding and universal theming in that short frame of time. Please give it a try guys I would like to see less requests and more sharing your own work! And trust me youll feel accomplished and want to do more. Skys the limit.

Holo Themer lets you force any app to use:

This will only work on apps that already use a Holo theme of some kind (which is most apps, and practically no games)
Even then, some apps will mess up a bit

HAHA i personally used this app to get White on AOSP. LOL
I'm currently making a "support package" for specifically the settings app, itll make the icons down the left black, so itll work with holo light background

I see, for App Monster (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.android_telefonie.appmanager) it does not work.
Maybe you could change the UI a little. I think there are 2 kind of people: Preferring dark or white. You could set this with a global option, and then just tick an app to apply. An long touch/extra button could be used to (re) start the app to test it.
(Then it does not matter that the UI does not load the preference which theme was set)
Btw, the portal content suggrstion does not work because the captcha piucture does not show. Maybe a mod like @GermainZ could repair it & report this module

The reason I'm reluctant to add a "make all dark" or "make all light" button is because there is almost certainly an app you do not want to be dark/light
Like browser for example will mess up
So will whatsapp

You probably want to hook setTheme as well, some apps will call that in their onCreate method (after your hook, effectively making your own call to setTheme useless.)
You might also want to look into hooking ContextThemeWrapper instead of Activity's onCreate, but I didn't look too much into that.
Samsung TouchWiz features tabbed settings, so theming it with this module cut out part of those tabs, looks weird.

That's strange. Browser uses tabs in history/bookmarks page and that works fine as you can see in screenshots in the OP

I'm going to use it with the clock, so it's less of an annoyance, but it still looks weird there. For testing purposes I installed all 3 overlays for Nougat.

No this is the source code. You don't need it.
To install go to Google play and install all three of these apps(in this order):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=projekt.substratum
Then open this app and it will promt you to install a plugin for Samsung. Either Andromeda or Root [FOR OREO] or Sungstratum [FOR NOUGAT].

Now again open Substratum found in your app drawer and you will see the theme there. Then click on it and select the options that you want, then click the button in the bottom right corner and click install. It will promt you to install some packages, just click install on all of them.

Hey everyone, this is Genesis. Genesis is a Synergy/Substratum style theme that is loaded with customization. You will find bright gradients and other colors throughout. There are several themes all in one which can be applied withing Synergy and Substratum lite. The opening dialog of the theme has several additional options like the photos button where you can see screenshots of different options as well as the highly recommended to watch YouTube video tutorial in which I talk way too much! It's several minutes of your life that you won't get back. But you will get some valuable information from it nonetheless.
I wanted to create this thread in order to give people a chance to get support and provide feedback to Genesis theme. There are other support channels available but honestly I prefer using XDA and from my experience with other devices and similar threads, I feel it is the best method and is a much more organized way to find information, search and look back at things. So here's the thing. The theme link is not to be posted nor is a link to Synergy as that's a violation of rule 11. However also in rule 11 it is permissible to utilize XDA as a support and feedback system which anyone who knows me from the LG forums will know that I am not only strict about keeping things this way but also see how valuable those threads have been to myself and other members. Those of you who may have followed any of my threads will understand that the threads are great for providing support and feedback.
So a bit of a back story for those of you who don't know me. I've been designing themes for several years dating back to the note 2 (those were absolutely terrible btw!) and then moved onto making Cyanogen mod themes and then I took a break and decided to give LG a whirl. I spent about 3 or 4 years making LG themes which are very similar to Samsung themes but have less restrictions out of box and allow you to theme pretty much anything. I've had virtually all the LG flagships and made probably at least 50 or 60 LG themes. Genesis was inspired by two themes in particular. Rain and Twilight theme. I'll continue to add things as time goes by and add more options. I do not rush things though so you won't be getting rushed updates. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so you can bank on the fact that when I push things out I will try to nail a lot of cool things for you.
Also unlike other themes I will most likely not be adding third party apps to it. If you see third party apps in the theme it is likely just the app icon included. The reason is simple. I've used many themes that have included third party apps and it's great to use. But when these apps update which can be frequently it can often break the overlay which then renders the theme unusable. I made a theme for LG once called Alpha and included tons of third party apps. what I found was that all these third party apps kept updating and each time it would take me a few days to fix it and then submit the update. Then the next day 5 more apps would update. I found myself always chasing app updates which took all of my time and given I was so consumed with fixing app updates it took all of my time from me and I wasn't able to focus on improving the theme whatsoever. I can't do that again. it's exhausting and I don't think it's fair to people who use the theme with hopes of it being maintained or improved. I do tip my hat to those who endure this type of torture and constantly work on updating third party apps. You guys are soldiers and deserve a lot of credit for doing what you do. So what you can do is mix and match elements from different themes. So for example if you want to have gmail themed from Sprite, Valerie or Domination and use system elements from Genesis you can do that just fine! In fact I recommend those three themes. All three are made by good friends of mine who are absolutely brilliant and very talented designers. That's what I do and it works just fine!
So here's the way we do things here. First let's have fun. After all XDA is supposed to be all about us and our fun hobby of tinkering and customization. Don't be a jerk to other members out here. For real that doesn't fly. Please don't link to the theme or synergy on google play. The thread is not here to direct them to it, it's for support and feedback and we'll say a bit of fun. Which means some OT is fine provided it's not too ridiculous. I mean if you have a great meme that's not too offensive I'm all for posting them and having some fun. As long as you're respectful it's all good. If you don't like the theme that's ok, just scroll on by as it's not going to suit everyone's style. Maybe someone else's theme works better for you or you're all about Hex which is also very cool. Speaking of which I don't want people to get into a war over which theme system is better as they both have their advantages and both are terrific theme systems. You can make some requests and or suggestions. However no promises on if they will be implemented or not. However if someone comes up with a great idea I'm humble enough to take the feedback and sometimes I can implement it! Also feel free to post screenshots of your setup. Since there are many customization options it's fun to see the creative combinations some people can come up with. This is highly recommended and encouraged.

Same here but on my S20+. NOT WORKING
I am currently using #hex and wanted to try the Synergy Genesis theme .... followed the instructions but coming to the Genesis theme, i get this warning (screenshot) ...... have a bunch of 3rd party app, tried to uninstall some but it didn't help...how can a get rid of this warning ?

I am currently using #hex and wanted to try the Synergy Genesis theme .... followed the instructions but coming to the Genesis theme, i get this warning (screenshot) ...... have a bunch of 3rd party app, tried to uninstall some but it didn't help...how can a get rid of this warning ?

Me too. Wish it was doable. Unfortunately Samsung put in some limitations that won't let me do that. I tried! It is believed that some of them are tinted in Java which is untouchable

That means exactly what it says. You have some 3rd party apps that can be used for piracy. The theme will not run with them installed for security purposes

I recently discovered that some devices with different dpi are causing issues. The temporary work around until i sort that out is to lower your font size. That should fix it. I'm currently working on addressing this. Its not something I had anticipated at all and just caught me off guard. I will however fix it.
