Hello there,
Got a 920 AT&T on WP8. Updated to 8.1, not liking it. I want to go back to WP8, last version.
I followed the tutorial on here and it works fine but only with the firmware that I already have on my phone (3051.50009.1425.2001). If I try others, none work (platform ID check fails). Is there something else that I should do? What is the best method to flash a firmware on unbranded AT&T Lumia 920 in 2017?
Phone: 059L848 RM-820
DevicePlatformInfo: MSM8960.P4301_ATT.3.2.1
Thank you!
Anyone? I'm sorry, I've been using WP since 2011 and this is my second 920. WP8 is enough for me -and kind of perfect- I would really appreciate some help here please! Thank you in advance.
Anyone please?
Hi, you might try the Rogers Firmware, it is also for RM-820. Have a look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2401226. I am not sure if it was 8 or 8.1, give it a try. I only used it to get away from the AT&T software in order to install a german one. If you do not find the ROM, just PN me, we will find a way.
Best wishes,
Joachim

Hi, I found the Rogers firmware thank you! But I cannot flash my phone with it, I get the invalid_platform_id... Any tip? Thank you!
Hi,
just try a developer, pwbassy or global firmware for your RM-820. Maybe you have to flash first with Windows Device Recovery Tool. If your symptom is "No bootable option" the solution is afaik the developer ROM.
Regards,
Joachim
I will try that, Joachim. Thanks a lot!
No luck, no .ffu works, the best I get with the developer rom is:
[20:07:48.719] D_MSG : Successfully parsed FFU file. Header size: 0x000e0000, Payload size: 0x0000000063920000, Chunk size: 0x00020000, Header offset: 0x00000000, Payload offset: 0x00000000000e0000
[20:07:48.721] D_MSG : RKH match between device and FFU file!
[20:07:48.722] D_MSG : Option: Skip CRC32 check in use
[20:07:48.723] D_MSG : Start sending header data...
[20:07:48.843] D_ERR : FlashApp returned reported error in SecureFlashResp!
[20:07:48.844] D_ERR : Status: 0x1304, Specifier: 0x00000000
[20:07:48.845] D_ERR : FA_ERR_FFU_STR_HDR_INVALID_PLATFORM_ID
[20:07:48.847] D_ERR : Send of FFU header failed!
Hard resetting right now to see if that would help. This at&t branded flashing is a nightmare.
So, after a hard reset and cleaning up the directory in ProgramData\Microsoft\Packages I was able to flash the PWBASSY rom. Now trying to flash to the Roger one but Thor crashes... Same when I try to flash the Developer rom... Is there any cache I need to clean? A rom that I should flash with after the PWBASSY one?
Thanks!

Nokia Care Suite 5.0
No. Even in most S^3 isn't possible, so the more the Nokia Lumia. You have to upload any firmware by Phoenix, but doesn't yet have a version that supports the Nokia Lumia.

Even after uploading the firmware from another Product Code, your Product Code remains unchanged.

but u can flash any firmware for Lumia 800 by this tool
Making a lil up on this post...
Does anyone tryed to figure out how to change Product Code for Lumia 800 yet?!
Why do you want change product code?
If it's for unbranding your phone, you can flash a country variant firmware without changing product code...

Because once changed, updates via Zune are avaible...
Currently, if you fash your phone without change the product code, you don't receive any updates...
You have to flash again to update... So to wipe all data, and restaure all again...
I managed to force the update by the connecting/deconnecting method even with an unbraded fw with the orange fw product code unchanged. So it's possible to update the fw.
I guess, that can works...
But witch firware did you got as update?!
Unbranded?! Or Orange one?!
it is the 7.10.8107.79 SE and the 1600.2483.8106.11500 (microprogram), still unbranded.

WHat is the "connecting/deconnecting method" ?
Connect your phone to your computer, Zune will run...
Start looking for update, and 2 or 3 secs after, disconnect your phone...
Connect it back, and the update will show up...
Still, would be better to be able to change product code... x)
I went on the samfirmware.com website but it says the latest firmwares are from Jan 2012 ???? how is that even possible ?
I am looking for the latest firmware for Canada. I know it was released recently, because my friends are updating, but I'm on a custom ROM and I just want to find the latest ICS firmware and flash it.
Please help!
try the link below, and you should also check your Region Code first:

It's NOT possible. No offense, but if you can't navigate a website to find the latest firmwares (which are from May for the i9100 as of the time of this post), perhaps you should rethink flashing anything to your phone personally.
I got my hand on a nokia lumia 710. Turns out it was a demo unit and is running demo software. Is there a way for me to manually update the software? it won't find an update on its own.
Any help would be appreciated
I was finally able to flash a stock version from NaviFirm.
OS Version 7.10.7740.16
Is that the latest update? My phone doesn't appear to be finding another update on its own.
Also could someone tell me what there phone says for total storage of the device?

Once you have installed Nokia care suite, install the drivers package for your version of windows - Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers WinUSB Drivers x86 or x64

Well, Match the firm ware versions like this
KII-L22 /// C636 ///
& go to settings, there will be a cust or number starts with Dxxx
match these to any firmware from file depot thread from @clsA
flash the matched firmware via force update method mentioned in file depot thread
hope this helps... quote me or post if you need any further help.
cheers ^_^

Where can i find those numbers ? Do you mean like the B130 or another one?, i'm kinda confused and i found a firmware from Thailand but i don't know if it will work here, i saw a lot of people saying that they don't have signal after installing that one, so i don't know if should give it a try.Btw thanks for your help.
Could you post the link for Huawei GR5(KII-L22) 6.0 firmware please?
I have s6 edge with model number sm-g9250 the chinese version but it lacked google apps and had all those chinese apps so by some research I found that there is a another ROM from hong kong (instead of chinese ROM) that should contain google apps so I downloaded it from sammobile (latest one from hong kong) and tried to flash it using odin but it failed on system.img.
The bootloader is locked because it prevented me from instaling twrp earlier saying ny device is locked but I don't think that should be a problem with a stock ROM.
So why is this happening?
Any ideas why would this happen generally?
Did you ever figure this out? I am dealing with this exact problem on the same exact phone/model.

Just figured this out (if you're still having the issue), read this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ash-china-s6-edge-g9250-to-hong-kong-t3647280
theres a .pit file you need. Once you get that it flashes fine!
Good luck!
