Which is the best OTA custom rom for snapdragon? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

I personally use RR. However I have a friend who's about to purchase a Mido phone. I told him I'd help him put a custom rom on it to get rid of MIUI if he doesn't like it. He's not into flashing roms and the maintenance that comes with being a geek like me.
I'd like to know which rom has Over the air updates so that he can get updates without the bother of flashing custom roms all the time. I just want as much of an automated process as possible for him.
Thanks in advance

Aicp, I guess.
But every time full OTA's, so have to DL full ota once you receive OTA and it'll install.

Well, unofficial works for me!
And, I don't use camera (Ssly), so you know, it's solid AF
Connectivity is also great!

I forgot about Mokee. Simple rom with not many bells and whistles, plus OTA updates. It'll be good for someone who doesn't care about tinkering as much as I do.

~50 hours until I can unlock my bootloader...
Does unofficial lineageos have OTA? Will a wipe be needed when it goes official?

Unofficial doesn't have OTA support, but official does. Weeklies*, full OTA's every time.

Best ROM based on AOSP

Hello to all users ...
I'm looking for a "good ROM" based on Android Open Source Project which is:
> Stable
> Fast and smooth
> Great battery life
Which Custom ROM do you advise? Thanks!
For me Turbo (Layers) got the best battery life. Next
Dirty Unicorns (cm theme) . I found them both to operate above my expectations as far as mobile, WiFi and Bluetooth connections concerned. But really they all are top notch can't really say ones better then the other just depends on what fits your needs/style.
Zephyr-OS coming up, stay tuned

Have u also tried exodus? How is that rom?
Yes actually another descent aosp ROM. Go thru them and see what features your looking for and also if you want cm theme or layers. If your using open gapps would suggest prior to may 10th to avoid issues. You can update play store later with XDA labs or google search. Slim and delta gapps are also good choices.
I would say Turbo as well. On my 7th day of trip and not a single hassle. Super smooth and battery friendly.
I say Slim6.. It has limited features but the speed and stability it delivers, is not from this planet
You can test it from here if anyone's interested >> link

DU and Turbo are basically same . Only difference is Du has CM theme engine while Turbo has layers support. Paranoid is also good but read that there are some call audio problems and battery life is not that great. FM is also missing if you care about it. Since Paranoid just started development, it will take some time before it gets stable.
My Fav Dirty Unicorns
PA is great

It was sort of a joke on my part. Everyone demanded support with rohitporolis ROMs so I provided it alongside my remix of Boeffla
Rolling with validius OMG this ROM is on steroids. I don't know what they are feeding the kernel but it is the fastest ROM yet that I've tried.
I'm also on validus now. Perfect rom

Best Rom for performence / battery

Hello I'm searching for really good rom for performence and good battery life also with treble support. I'm switching ROM to ROM like a rabbit and couldn't find any good. Alko can you provide me for good kernel? Many thanks!
Best regards,
skrubxgt
Forget treble, it's nonsense. There are plenty of good roms out there, I'm using Liquid Remix for about 2 months now and it is just awesome. Standby drain over night on wifi (8hours) 2-3 %, SoT 11-12 hours on wifi on a constant use and performance is just superb.

Yes bro I know.. But I am asking him which version like V 9.1.2 or V 9.1.3 ?? As 9.1.4 recently launched . And he said that he is using from 2 months. So I was asking him which version he is using and have no problems.
I'm using it since the first release for Vince, I think it was 9.1.2 -currently using 9.1.4 since the day it was released and its just running fine for my needs.

I've been using Havoc OS for some time now and its pretty good and stable, battery life is also not bad. Too bad its not on XDA anymore.
The only other a10 rom i've used on poco is crdroid 6.4 but it was not very stable then, maybe things have changed now.

vulkan ia better but I've seen many roms reverting back to opengl recently, not sure of the reason. Could be related to stability as vulkan is new tech.
