Hello fellow members,
I have yet come to you all with a problem regarding videos; On Twitch, or Firefox (maybe more) if I try to watch a video I hear sound, however the video image is a solid green color... On the other hand Youtube 720p60 lags like hell which I don't know why, and is a bit annoying. I would appreciate it if somebody can help me in these matters..

I don't have a solution to this particular issue. However, Given the ROM you're running which in this case is a "Nightly" this type of problem is very possible considering nightly's are typically unstable. My only suggestion is to go back to the version you were using before this Nightly. Good luck.

Trying but also trying to offer a newbies experience to others. Have only been playing with android for a few months having come from an iPhone 4. Its really easy to learn with a bit of help and research. Hope I am not breaking any rules here

If you can live without camera recording and YouTube, CM9 is the best for your daily ICS ROM.
Hello guys,
I have an international S3 with CM 10.1 nightly 20130314.
I've mounted my phone to my motorcycle (for navigation but also as a GoPro-alternative). So I tried to record a short video with the stock camera app and this is what happened:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaJtMImsELk
The faster I go, the more "wobbly" the video becomes. I have a feeling the software tries to compensate the fast motion but gets sort of "confused" because of the vibrations...
Can someone explain to me what is going on? Is there any way to "fix" it? I wouldn't mind some shaking, but this wavey video is really weird to watch.
Thank you!
After searching for a while it seems few people have shared my problem but none really found a solution.
I'm on a Galaxy S3 i9300 running the latest stable build of SlimKat (which is AOSP based) and it appears snapchat videos only record for a second or so before stopping. According to what I read i recognized the problem as a memory problem, snapchat has a maximum memory capacity for video and for some reason on AOSP based ROMs it reaches that maximum too early. I confirmed this because I saw that when Video Quality is set on "Low" it does record the full 10 seconds (although in messed up proportions which is why I don't want to use it) and if I put the Video Mode on regular and put my thumb on the camera it records 10 seconds of black, and if I suddenly remove the finger it ends because of the memory maximum.
How can I fix this problem? I really like vanilla android and I don't want to move to Samsung based ROMs for something like this. Please help

Had a dream about this... Try going to camera app and go to video setting, in the recording setting change the video to a lower one. Mine was at 1080p and when I changed it to 720p it started working amazing. Try setting it lower if that doesn't work for you. Mine was only recording for 1 second and would stop, after this I can record the full length allowed now. Let us know if this works for you

Hi there, this is my first post but I'm not new to the world of custom ROMs.
I have had many ROMs over the years and have recently flashed the slimsaber 4.4.4 v9 with dorimanx 3.14.
All seems to be well apart from a few minor issues that are not of any concern. That is apart from YouTube! My favourite app. It will no longer allow my to select anything greater than 360p. Kind of annoying. I have tried many things to fix this. Like flashing the ROM again. Adjusting DPI to 200. Even used xposed installer. And I can't figure it out.
It was working fine on my previous ROM (jb. I went back to stock ROM) I have not reflashed since the problem but might try as a last resort.
Please can someone help with this. I have read many forums that date back a few years relating to this issue and have tried suggested fixes.
Why is this happening? Could it be a hardware problem?
Thanks
Mark

Hi
I suppose you searched already in slimsaber 4.4.4 thread for you tube problems? I saw several posts concerning this matter.
Does you tube properly work when using Browser (test not only with stock Browser but others like Dolphin).
Sent from my STAIRWAY using XDA-Developers mobile app
Thanks for quick response.
YouTube only plays audio on stock browser. On dolphin it works the same as the app.
I'll check the threads again.
Are there any video drivers that can be installed. Is there a way of formatting that will rectify it? Any one have any suggestions?
@elemenopy
I don't quite get what the point is. I think our device's screen resolution is only 360p, right? So it doesn't make sense to try bigger resolutions in YouTube, as you will see no difference. Someone correct me if this is wrong.
As far as i know screen resolution is 480 x 800 pixels

Hi,
You can't install any video drivers onto the ROM as the correct ones are provided by the kernel.
If you really want higher than 360p, try using this modded youtube app:
[MOD] YouTube 4.4.11 (v5b), *1080p* / 720p HD (over WiFi & 3G), screen off playback
Please note that the screen resolution is 480p, but youtube only defaults to 360p.
Note: Dev-host link is a bit dodgy because one of the download buttons seem to be an ad. The correct download button is safe and I've used it on my S2.
Saber.

Yeah, forgive my ignorance on that part. I'm back on stock 4.1.2 and YouTube only allows 360p. However, I guess the reason why I was hunting for this 'fix' was due to a pixelated image on YouTube when on the slimsaber rom. Also the stock browser would not play video image only audio. This has now gone back to normal now that I'm on jb.
