[Q] Rooting Android 4.1.2

Would just like to confirm before i proceed as i do not want to brick my phone.
Since I'm running i9300 stock android 4.1.2, is it safe to root using the method found here?
Since recovery won't be installed, i am unable to find an odin flashable cwm 6.0.4.x which is required for kitkat roms.
There is twrp 2.6.3.0 here, but i'm unfamiliar with it and the version needed to flash kitkat roms.
Any help would be appreciated as search/stickies did not help.

for rooting see stickies guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911726
but yes that rooting method is save
for the recovery try philz touch http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002953 which is based on cwm and is able to flash kitkat roms: there is a odin flashable tar.md5

thank you for the reply
tbh i prefer twrp but will use cwm if twrp does not support kitkat flashing.
have tried philz but did not like it...would use it only if cwm and twrp aren't available.

search in the twrp thread with the keyword "cm11" and you'll find the answer:
in short you do not need the version in the op but from the main website and in the thread is a link to it. but better look yourself
if you are unsure ask in the thread, which roms are flashable through twrp and which one causes problems

For anyone interested:
Yes you can use cf auto root in the op link to root jb 4.1.2
For Recovery:
CWM: You have to flash via odin cwm 6.0.3.2 then install the 6.0.4.4 zip via recovery
TWRP: odin flashable twrp 2.6.3.1(required for kitkat) is available on the twrp website.
Philz: odin flashable zip can be found in this thread. Not sure about kitkat compatibility tho.

Need help with rooting and flashing custom roms.

Hello,
I need help with rooting mu galaxy s3 international version. I managed to root it once also tryed to flash custom rom (I think i tryed flash CyanogenMod's custom rom with android 4.4). It failed and got my device soft bricked. I managed to fix it and now searching for help. I don't have alot of time so I would be really grateful if you could post a link. Also if you know any good android 4.4 custom roms with stock kernel, I would like to know.
Thanks in advance.
Here you are root 3D: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...3-07-2012-cf-root-6-4-supersu-cwm5-5-t1695238
After root, make a backup of efs folder and reset counter with triangle away.
I suggest you Imperium 3.0 with boeffla kernel

Thanks . I will have a look. Also maybe you know why it failed to install CyanogensMod's rom?
It's possible that you hadn't latest cwm and gave you error for this. Try with latest cwm or another recovery like philz or twrp.

I don't think any other option available to flash SuperSU beta zip to patch your boot image and get systemless root.
Search for already patched boot image to your android.
Sent from my Lenovo K50a40 using XDA-Developers mobile app

Hi thankyou for commenting..... I think it will be impossible to find a patched boot.img because no one was able to root my unit.

How do I flash custom rom and custom recovery?

Hello, I've tried using kingroot to root but that didn't work.
What can I try?
And after rooting I can flash custom recovery right?
Btw, I have a MYA-L41 if that helps?
