Be very careful. The 64GB versions mostly likely have a Mediatek Helio X20 processor.

Since you are buying from aliexxprss you have a protection against fake or products not as described. I have been buying many times and when a product is not according to description I get a refund or the seller sends another product. I don't know if I recommend or not because I had the opportunity to buy my redmi note 4 from aliexxprss but chose a faster seller from my country (Italy).

Which delivery option are you gonna choose?
I bought a Redmi 4X using Aliexpress standar shipping and it arrived exactly in 20 days to México
Also bough the Note 4x but this time with DHL and the seller declared the price below 50 dolars and as "sample of phone", it arrived in just 9 days ( Took them 3 days to send it ) .

I ordered from Honor-buy, they have a store in Italy and ship from within the country. Although buying from aliexxprss would cost me less, I choose the other option because it had 24-48h shipping, payment with PayPal and 2 year warranty as obligatory from Italian law. Plus it came with Italian language and with lte band 20, a must here in italy.

there are several versions of the redmi note 4. You need to check the LTE bands for your country and check if those Lte bands are compatible with the Lte Bands of the phone you're buying. Usually the main issue is the Lte Band 20, a neccessity in most european countries. If you give me a minute I'll check for you...
---------- Post added at 10:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:24 PM ----------
1. The phone in the first link supports Lte band : 1 , 3 , 5 , 7
2. In Finland:
- DNA - uses 3,7,20,28 .......There may be signal drop in 4g, 3g should work fine
- Elisa - uses 3,7,20 .....Same as above
- Sonera - uses 3,7 .... Perfectly compatible with the phone
- Ukkoverkot - uses 31,38 .... Never heard of these frequencies before

So i will be buying some other version so my 4G will work. Thank you SOOOO mutch for checking that out

You will have LTE. But due to missing Band 20 the LTE coverage won't be as good as it would be with Band 20.

There is one retailer who sells it on eBay for 279,99 GBP (or about 339,21 EUR).
Beware as this a 3G version and not the 4G/LTE version.
Otherwise you can try to buy one on aliexpress dot com but this is some kind of a jungle there as prices can vary from as much as US $449.98 (even US $759 ^^) to as low as US $154.28... ^^
So you have to check out if this is a 4G/LTE version, a 3G version or ... maybe... a fake... so check it out twice about the reliability of the retailer as most if not all of them don't accept Paypal payment...
I have not buy anything yet from aliexpress so I have no experience with them : I've heard both about very positive and very negative evaluations...
I'm inquiring my banker about what options I have to be sure I can get my money back in case I don't receive the product or if it the product is not as described.
A few days ago I've seen a thread on XDA about a review of this Huawei Honor Mediapad X1 product and about the low prices, but sounds like this thread has been deleted or moved, so I can't retrieve any feedbacks from those who tried to buy it at low cost... ^^

It just depends on your wearing... If you wear regular pants even just as with Docker pants, you can't carry it with you, unless you have a bag with you.
But if you have sport, mountain, fishing pants with large side pockets or a jacket with large pockets it's not a problem...
I've got the first Galaxy Tab 7" from Samsung (GT-P1000) thicker and heavier than the Mediapad X1 and it was very nice.
Then with the Galaxy tab 7.7, I've got to have systematically a small rucksack with me... ^^
That's the reason, I want to buy this Mediapad X1 as Samsung didn't released any good 7" pad anymore. Since the very first GT-P1000/GT-1010, Samsung's 7 inches pads are still with a crappy 1024x600 display resolution...

I thought you would understand the hints in my conversation with cmcc13901753700...
I can't say for sure as I haven't decided yet where and which version to buy, but as most Huawei use more or less the same SOC (Hisilicon Kirin 910) you can have a look here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373814
or other links to other Huawei products... Ask to be sure and maybe cmcc13901753700 can confirm or infirm if this is a reliable source or not... ^^
---------- Post added at 04:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:15 PM ----------
At present time, the price on aliexpress or To2c is about US $353.99 or even cheaper for the 3G version so about 256 €, when sciphone sells the same product for 305 € (so about US $ 421 for a 3G version)...
And this is a chinese website retailer, NOT a US or European retailer. So guarantee isn't better than aliexpress or To2c as if we have any problems the product has to be sent to Chine or so... ^^

No ....To2C is ok.....i have made many orders from there for me and my family and is very reliable...im waiting mediapad for my wife now..
i hear that there was a wi-fi only planned by huawei, is there any truth to this?? i would prefer a non phone function but i will take a wi-fi only if its later available.

Thé 4G/LTE version came out officially 2 days ago in China, so you can order it on the web but they'll ship the phones only next week as the first three days of May are off in China !
For your information, the 4G/LTE chinese version should work with the. 4G/LTE networks of your countries

I have been trying to buy one this week. I cancelled my order when it turned out it was for the 503L Chinese version with TDD LTE only which doesn't work here in the UK. There will be an international version 501L with FDD LTE and TDD LTE available soon which does.
All the models are
Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 7D-501
Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 7D-501L
Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 7D-501g
Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 7D-502L
Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 7D-503L
Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 7D-504L
I have not found on the web exactly what the differences are but they are 3g or 4g.
Its also called Honor X1, Glory
Have a nice day,
Looks like the 4G version is available now if: you live in Guangdong Province and want it on a China Unicom contract - so no use to most of us
However, it does look like there's a 'flash' sale of contract free X1s next week for Chinese residents. Again, not much use although you can be sure many scalpers and Taobao and Aliexpress agents will be buying them up to sell on/abroad. At 1,999 RMB ($320USD) it's only $30USD up on the 3G variant, although these are obviously local prices.
I guess it may be a month or two before they are on open sale at least. I've still yet to see the 3G version on open sale on either Huawei's own website or in local phone stores despite it being released (in staggered flash sales) for around a month now.
As for the device itself, the 3G version I got a few weeks back is excellent value. Good feel in the hand, not too heavy, and fantastic build quality. The stock EMUI was a bit laggy in places out-of-the-door but there have been 4 OTA updates already so it's clearly being worked on. I run Nova instead and it is fine. Still, it could do with moving to 4.4 rather than the 4.2 that it is at the moment. Next to my 5s, it's crazy to think this is 30% of the price for what you get. I'd put this up there with the OnePlus One (however impossible it might be to acquire one of those) in terms of bang-for-buck. Reading, movie-watching, browsing and gaming are all great and the battery lasts forever. Just wish I could move the power button but have managed to adjust my grip to avoid accidental depressions.
One thing: the Honor brand is mainly for China. I think it'll be known as MediaPad X1 in foreign markets.
The version of the Huawei Mediapad X1 4G i bought is FDD-LTE so it'll work with the french 4G networks (i'm in France obviously..
Can't wait to get this phablet, from what i've been reading so far on the web, this phone is a killer ! I just hope that some devs will start to bring us some good customs roms ! not just a cyanogen rom...
And for those who already got this phone, what about the external speaker ? it seems great from what i heard (DTS technology built-in), can we make the comparaison with the external speaker of the HTC One ?
Would be great if someone could make a full review of this phone ? I know i will when i'll get it
Really hope this is a hit so they make more. It has everything I want with 7in 1080 screen, large battery and sd card. Only problem I have is the cpu which needs to be updated. Think I'll end up passing on this one unless I could find someone that trade it for my GN2.

I have a question about this phone.

Hello, so I am pretty much looking to buy this phone. Actually, I am not even sure if it's this exact phone. What I am looking at is the snapdragon 650 3GB ram 32GB ROM variant. It seems that this xda is a mix and match. I want to know if this xda is for the phone I am looking to buy. Also where should I order this phone? I've looked at gearbest, and this is what I found (http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones...tm_medium=calinapostALLEN&utm_campaign=review). I am not a huge fan of MIUI, so I am not exactly sure if the phone that I am looking to get has XDA support. Honestly sorry if I am posting in the wrong phone section, I just thought that this phone was really good for the price and it would be a really nice upgrade from what I have now.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Stay away from gearbest, you will probably end up with a vendor rom.
It can be got for good value from aliexpress sellers "Top One" or "Goldway"!
All xiaomi phones come with MIUI, but you can flash customs roms like CyanogenMod.

If your in the EU, you can avoid customs by using EU DHL Express with "Top One" which is faster shipping than "Goldway's" sellers shipping method.

128GB or 256GB preorder?

Has anyone found a reliable seller for the S9+ in 128 or 256? Exynos or SD. I don't care.
Vodafone Romania- preordered 256 gb black variant. Check www.vodafone.ro and ask if they do international shipping!
I just ordered my S9+ 256gb black (dual sim) from axiom telecom in UAE. I did order my S8+ from them last year without problem. They ask for a scan of your id and a scan of your credit card. Shipped to France without problem (though Aramex shipping company was not very speedy at delivering). Shipping from UAE is said to happen on March 15 ... and should take 10 days to reach me.
I ended up going with the 128GB UK version from https://www.clove.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s9-plus .
Cost me $1,023 but it's way better than a Snapdragon with 64GB for $840. and the price includes 3 day international shipping. Considering they are expecting their 1st shipment on the 8th, I may see mine before release day.

Pardon my ignorance, but are these alternate sources the same as the unlocked phone offered through Samsung's website?
I have never bought a new phone from any seller but one of the big 4 carriers and am just now starting to realize how much better life might be buying this S9+ from someone other than Verizon without all the crapware and the Qualcomm chip. I am aware of the VOLTE concerns, etc. If the standard features work with VZW from some of these overseas sellers I am golden.
The reason I'm even pursuing a source other than Samsung.com is because they don't appear to offer anything but the 64 GB model
you need to get a U3 listed sd card or it wont record 4k video to the card. U1 is too slow

The S9 and S9+ listed in that ebay sellers shop are the Chinese variants. Which basically means that they have the snapdragon processor, higher storage, and have a better chance of being rooted than any of the U.S. versions.
If you're new to buying outside carriers, it is good to know the benefits of each processor. Snapdragon has support for all U.S. carriers, if unlocked. It also has a stronger gpu so gaming, emulators in particular, will run better. It does not root very well.
The Exynos version tends to have better battery life, and a stronger cpu. It also gets root along with custom roms. It does not, however, work with Sprint or Verizon. They use CDMA radios that the Exynos models just do not have. Also, they apparently lack 1 of T-Mobile's radio bands, but should still mostly work.
You can go HERE to learn more about each individual model.
Clove UK - I have purchased my last three phones there - great people - great service.
international version warranty?
If I get the S9+ international from oversea, will it still have warranty in the US?

The S9+ Chinese market device SM-G9650 and SM-G9658 don't list LTE Band 13 to work with Verizon.
That site also shows UK devices with Band 13 which I don't think is correct?
SM-G965FZKDXEU
SM-G965FZVDXEU
Both showing with LTE Bands: B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B13(700), B17(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B25(1900), B26(800), B28(700), B32(1500), B66(AWS- 3)
That seems to directly contradict what Clove has on their website:
https://www.clove.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s9-plus
I would take that Tech Walls link with a grain of salt because it seems to contradict what I'm seeing in many other places.

You can go HERE to learn more about each individual model.

not warranty in the US whereas the S9/S9+ coming with exynos ( SM-G960F/SM-G965F-DS) instead of snapdragon 845
The SM-G9600 and SM-G9650 have snapdragon 845, but I don´t know if these comes with CDMA ratio, but it´s very probably that they doesn´t come with US warranty ( also the 128GB and 256GB at this time has not been offered in the official Samsung store yet)

In Europe? All the variants, regardless of storage capacity, are powered by the Exynos 9810.
Hope so. Now I have Note 8 256 gb from Honk Kong....and it's snapdragon...
I'm flabbergasted that the S9 Plus seems to only be available with 64 gigs in the US. How can they up the ram to 6 gigs and keep the storage at 64?
With the upgrades in camera, pictures and videos take up more space. 128 gigs should be the new base standard.

I am only guessing but I think they did it to keep the cost lower. If they had gone to 128GB in the US, the price would have been over 1000 for a new phone and I think they wanted to keep it lower than the IPHONE X - that is just my guess -but I bet I am correct.

Here in canada the s9 costs $624 usd since every store gives you a $150 discount when you trade in any junk phone, its definitely the cheapest galaxy phone to date that i've seen. My s8 was $800.

WOW - that is amazing. I purchased my S9 Plus (128GB) at CLOVE UK, I think after the conversion from Pounds to Dollars the final cost was $1014 - that includes overnight shipping. BUT, none of the extras you got in Saudi Arabia -

Quite possible. Only issue is adding in a decent SD card, which will be needed, still bumps the price up. I don't usually use external storage for phones, too, so this is a big drawback for me.

Check with them if it has the regional lock and if so ask them to send you a prepaid SIM or unlock it for you ( which mean they have to make a 5 minute call )
Clove.co.uk said:
*Since September 2013, Samsung has implemented a 'region lock' on all new stock. Clove Technology only has access to models designed for the “European” region, which covers both UK and mainland Europe. The compatible countries are listed below**.
For correct operation, this handset should be activated inside one of these countries with a SIM card issued for use there. The device will then be able to accept SIM cards from outside of these countries.
Activation requires turning the device on for the first time & completing set-up with the SIM installed, then completing at least 5 minutes of voice call(s) with this SIM.
Without activation you may still use the device outside of these countries when 'roaming' - using a SIM card from the listed countries.
If this activation procedure is not followed then the device will lock when first attempted to be used with a SIM card from outside of these regions. Local Samsung support may provide a code to unlock such handsets.
**All member states of the E.E.A and the following additional territories: Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R.O.M), Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia and Vatican City.
IF YOUR CHOSEN DELIVERY COUNTY IS NOT LISTED, CLOVE TECHNOLOGY WILL BREAK THE SEAL ON THIS DEVICE AND ACTIVATE IT. YOU MUST AGREE TO THIS PROCEDURE IN THE CHECKOUT BEFORE THE SALE WILL COMPLETE.

I picked mine up from Fnac, and I am having an issue. When will yours arrive? Would you mind checking this on yours when you get it?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m5/help/multi-touch-issues-t3761496
Thanks!
I think on 16/03. I will test and report.
Does this happen in everyday use or only on that game? It can be a problem of optimization of that game on that device.

It happens with everything. I mean, in every day usage you won't notice it - but download a multi touch tester and you can see. I noticed it while playing a game, but in that application in the video I uploaded you can see it's just a normal app to check the multi-touch.

O fantastic when you get it delivered can you please measure the actual screen dimensions so I can see if the height & width are larger or smaller than my Samsung tab s 10.5.
Can you also take a picture of the tablet in landscape with the onscreen keyboard diaplayed so we can see how much screen space it uses.
Thanks

Mine will be here tomorrow but display size should be:
Display size: 9.16" × 5.72" = 52.42in² (23.26cm × 14.54cm = 338.21cm²) at 279.53 PPI
If you use this website and input resolution and diagonal size, it calculates everything for you: https://www.sven.de/dpi/
wow it's only 310€ on amazon it !! i've ordered one
Where to get this in North America?
Was going for the M3 but held off a few months waiting for the M5.
I've ordered the LTE version from Amazon DE, for delivery in the UK early this week.
Hope it meets my expectations!
right now got answer by US Huawei chat guy: "might be launched in a couple of months in the USA market". ( "But the other regions manage different models of hardware and they have their own centers. And here, we need to verify if the device works properly and work much better to bring you a greatest device" )
Doesn't look like it's available in the US yet.
There has been a lot of news lately that us stores are stopping selling huawei.

Best Buy announced they will stop selling Huawei mobile phones, laptops, etc.
AT&T and Verizon (I believe) won't be selling Huawei phones
Considering Amazon is still selling Huawei devices, I'm hoping that the MediaPad M5 will be available there.
Mine arrived today.
So far, very impressed.
All my core essential phone apps are working fine that I have loaded, and I'm going to be using it as a mega phablet replacing my 4 year old Sony Xperia Ultra. So the M5 acting as a phone more than a tablet is good for me.
HD video on memory card, and YouTube is simply stunning with the audio to match. Yes Netflix is pants, hope this is sorted but not a deal breaker as I don't normally watch Netflix on a tablet.
Will be connecting my LG watch sport to the M5 for call handling.
Need to sort a suitable case now.

Hey Stag,
Could you post a link to the store you bought it from? (I'm assuming it's online.) I'm dying to get my hands on one of these. BTW, is there an ear speaker for calls? Thanks so much.
Ordered from Amazon Italy, arrived today, in 3 days. Tried a tmobile sim and calling and internet seem to be working. Will do more testing. Great first impression.

I'm assuming you got the 53010BDL model - if not, please tell us the model number. What LTE bands does it have enabled? Either product box, or documentation that came with it should say that. I'm trying to figure out if this model is equivalent to SHT-AL09, listed on Huawei US website as the one, having LTE+GSM radios.
---------- Post added at 12:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:32 AM ----------
For US folks, who are like me, wondering if European 8.4" LTE version with GSM radio supports US LTE bands for T-Mobile and AT&T: I don't know how accurate this information is (perhaps someone, who owns this 53010BDL version can confirm?), but this site lists the available LTE bands for this model: https://www.conrad.com/ce/en/produc...G-LTE4G-Grey-Octa-Core-Android-80-Oreo-2560-x
According to the above, only FDD-LTE band 5 (850Mhz), used by T-Mobile, is overlapping with US carriers. There are no LTE bands, supported by AT&T.
This one however, lists different bands: https://www.centralpoint.nl/tablets...d-m5-8-lte-4gb-32gb-art-53010bdl-num-8253117/ and according to this site, B5 is not supported.
Another one without any US bands https://www.quickstore.it/ReadyIceC...ean=6901443213603&langCode=it&productID=85281
We really need clarity from someone who owns it
My European model is SHT-AL09, and the documentation quick start guide states on page 8:
GSM 900
GSM 1800
WCDMA 900, 2100
LTE Bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 34, 38, 40
Hope that helps!
Edit, don't think it covers any US frequency/bands?

You're absolutely right - unfortunately, it does not. T-Mobile uses FDD LTE B2,B4,B5,B12 and AT&T uses B2,B4,B5,B17
It can be frustrating, a year ago I bought a LG Watch Sport while in New York from AT&T, at the time, information available suggested it would work back home in Europe. It didn't. North American bands only.
Fortunately managed to buy an import from South Korea, the 'international version', that did, and also managed to sell on my US version at the same time.
So you do have to be careful before buying!
