You could try using Magisk hide, If the app is failing to run because of root there's a chance that it's also checking for "SafetyNet" and if it is, Magisk hide is the only solution available. Of course you can also try using the other various methods of hiding root from the app too. I cannot guarantee this'll work but this is your best chance.

The use of Magisk Hide requires that you switch over to MagiskSU, Which means you'll have to uninstall SuperSU.
From my standpoint if you're going to attempt switching them, Make sure you're ready for anything. Backups, Stock ROM available and on hand just in case, You understand how ODIN works, In other words.....You know what to do to fix it if it doesn't end up working or you end up in a bootloop.
It should be safe but at the same time you be safe too, Just in case.
Last but not least, Read Read read, Make sure you understand what you're doing, Even ask within the Note 4 forum if they've successfully installed MagiskSU.

Yes it's possible. You can go to the towelroot site on your phone and click the lamda to download the apk file. Then browse to that file on your phone, install and run.
Note: You will need to have install from unknown sources checked. It may prompt during the install to adjust that setting. Otherwise, you may need to do that before.

Glad you got it rooted. I'm still researching the custom rom option because everything I read says that any install of a custom recovery App will trip the knox counter. On my old AT&T S5 with a locked bootloader, I had Safestrap recovery installed which seemed to get around this issue and allow custom roms to be loaded without tripping knox.

Help needed: Ota verification issue

Hello, i am currently on 17.1.2.A.0.314, rooted with SuperSU with survival mode enabled. I get the update notification for 23.0.1.A.0.167, but when i download and try to install it, it says verification failed. I had recovery installed previously but i reflashed the stock firmware to remove it( i didn't wipe the data though), but still it says verification failed. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

your rom has to match stock to be able to update
Any changes need to be removed (root, mods, Other stuff alike )

My rom is purely stock with no modifications at all except the root. Some people updated over the air and that saved the root, that's what i was trying to do too.

im not sure how they did it then :/
root counts as a modified system because you have the SU binary and superuser manager
As I told in another thread, OTA update with root is pure luck if everything went good and remain root.

I was able to update rooted phone over the air many times before this one. Now i'll update only when there is some working root method for 4.4.4 (because i just don't want to flash a pre-rooted firmware as i don't want set up the whole phone from starting). Anyway, thanks for help ?.

You need to carry out an OTA upgrade for that to work not all carriers support OTA. And those that do may carry out checks that fail, try flashing stock UK (unbranded) .314 I know people who've had success with that one.

You might have to settle for avoiding 4.4.4 then, as I don't know how much effort devs are putting I into finding a new exploit when flashing a pre-rooted rom is so trivial.
Ok i'll try that, but if it fails too then i won't update to 4.4.4.
Thanks for the help!

I don't think it should work in unrooted phone brother... Well just try this. Just uninstall xposed first completely then reboot ur phone. After that test Barclays app. If again force closses means no other choice.

Positive, Knox is only tripped when installing custom recovery via Odin or an app, also using cf-autoroot via Odin will trip Knox too.

After King Root, use Super Su Me to remove King root with its slightly alarming permissions and replace with Super SU - worth the small price.

I successfully rooted my A3 (A300FU) with KingRoot then removed and replaced to SuperSU with this method: http://zidroid.com/how-to-get-ride-and-replace-kinguser-with-supersu-app/
We need to slightly modify the script due to different mount points, but after SuperSU installs and updates flawlessly. And the best of it: phone keeps rooted after reboot, and KNOX isn't affected. (0x0)

If you flashed a custom recovery before, then your KNOX is already tripped. If you haven't I suggest to reflash a stock rom from samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com with ODIN. Anyway I dont know if it's possible to apply zip updates via stock recovery, I haven't tried it yet.

Found a way! Using flashfire
I have used Kingroot on my A3 (SM-A300FU) and KNOX flag is 0. If you don't trust on Kinroot (like me) you can remove then.
I have used the second method and works fine: https://www.droidmen.com/remove-replace-kingroot-kinguser-with-supersu

You are on the unofficial build so you need to enable developer options by going to about device and press 7 times on build number, after that you will find a root option set it to apps and adb
