Rock solid ROM for OPX - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi xda-ers,
I'm asking which is (or which are) a good and stable ROM for my OPX.
I don't have any special needs beside stability, would like to go to Nougat only because it's the last release and I can use it for a while.
Thanks all,
cid

Jdc

PureNexus has been perfect for me.

pureNexus is the best I've used so far. I'm a little sad it hasn't been updated in over a month though.

I've been using GZR, Candy, AOSiP, PureNexus, AOSPA, Vertex Carbide, JDC, AEX.. all of 'em are great ROMs.
But so far i prefered and stick with AOSiP v6.2. N7.1.2
• Signal network pretty stable
• Arsenic Kernel
• Battery backup great (depends on usage/setting up kernel)
• Fully customizations (lot of features)
• July 5 sec. patch
• Magisk works
• Substratum runs flawlessly
• A.R.I.S.E works
• Etc..lot of things you need to discover by yourselves
ROM is a preferable thing (taste). Just find one that fits you the most.
Goodluck.

Which nougat rom has most stable network?

I want to switch from Sultan's ROM to a nougat ROM but I just can't decide myself which one I should test x)

Pure nexus hasnt updated for a long time and paranoid isn't ready yet for a daily driver because of some bugs.

@cid254 didn't you get a headache already?
People usually choose a ROM based on their needs, don't pick a ROM based on what people needs, instead tried em' all and decide which one is suited for yourself.

@R324D no at all, i was expecting something like that
I do like all the contributions to this post, makes it meaningful. Thanks everybody!!

Which one you preferred? There's a lot of 7.0 rom and so confusing, I couldn't test all of them one by one. Maybe you could suggest. Aicp, crdroid, strix cm14, or another else.

Faster one is CrDroid and Smoother one AICP
Santosh's cm14 + any kernel with Dynamic fsync is the fastest imo (best latency )
Tesla is smooth but not as smooth as cm14 but stable & quite customizable ( substratum theme engine)
CitrusAOSP is the best on RAM usage (no bloat pure aosp) + faster than Tesla but a bit slower than santosh's cm14
Haven't tested the others
I base my testings on real life benchmarks: Discomark for app openings , androbench for latency & SQLite opérations , vellamo for speed benching.

No problem, friend. It will probably be the newest hardware variant. So you will need some patches to get fingerprint and cameras working with CM. I made it work with RR and it's flawless, except for VR quality that sucks. I'm moving to CM 14 that fixed that VR stuff but I couldn't make goodix fingerprint work on that still, cameras are fine on that btw.
If you need something, feel free to ask.
PS: You will love it. It's the best device for it's price and I love its design, my black one is so cool. lol
Cm14 of santhosh . Latest update fixes many bugs and it's quite smooth.

I personally like AICP because of nightlies and that you can be sure that you are going to get updates... some other rom may never get an update....
although some roms like Beanstalk are now less buggy than AICP....
I tried beanstalk for a couple of days and It lags like hell. I went back to Tesla, it's the smoothest for me and also works with my goodix FP.

I've tried many custom ROMs since I have this phone. The Nougat ROMs are pretty fun to use, they have a lot of features that make this devices a bit more enjoyable, they have many bugs that make you throw your phone away though.
Marshmallow ROMs are much more stable and fully functionals, especially the EUI ones. According to my experiences, Cuoco's EUI is one of the best that is available for this device. Which is also my daily driver and I'm very pleased with it.

Could you please tell me how the camera goes on the Cuoco ROM? Slow motion is working? And what about 360º Panorama on the Google Camera, does it come out of focus?
Thanks!
Heyyo, tbh I'd recommend Marshmallow Mokee as the most stable ROM with LineageOS Marshmallow coming second. EUI for me has always been a little too harsh on app killing plus the user interface drives me nuts.

Heyyo, RR for the Le Max 2 is supported by Andr68rus here on the XDA forums. He maintains the port of RR and it's very customizable and has lots of tweaks for sure, but this thread asked about the most stable ROM which it is not. MM build some people reported issues with audio problems or front facing camera problems in some apps but MM was discontinued.
RR Nougat definitely has lots of work to be done but it has been coming along really nicely but battery life as even andr68rus has stated isn't very good currently on RR N but the ports he maintains based on ASOP don't suffer those same issues. Some people reporting quick charging also not working for them on RR N.
So yes, currently I'd also say RR N is the most popular ROM for the Le Max 2 as it tends to get lots of updates and tweaks but it's not the stablest ROM I've used up to this day.

so, you said, Mokee MM is stable rom for Lemax2 ? any bug you found in that rom ? I will try tomorrow, i need stable rom for work long time before EUI nougat release (maybe they never release )
Okay, so here is my list with the bugs I've found so far in the ROMs you mentioned above.
- Mokee 6.0: the sound quality is not as good as in EUI ones, too loud even at low volume settings and awful in voip. Panorama picture is blured, couldn't make it work. Battery life is lower comparing to EUI's.
The non-EUI based ROMs share the same bugs (although the sound issue supposed to be solved in the latest AOKP marshmallow, I haven't checked it yet)
- RR Nougat: everything above + camera is bad in general. Most of camera features such as slow motion, 4K recording etc. are not working. The IDLE battery drain is way higher than in MM ROMs. (Google Camera HDR+ only worked with darkobas kernel for me, but I could use slow motion, panorama mode, everything).
- Cuoco 92: everything is working, haven't found any bugs. Camera is fully functional, it's the stock apk. Battery life is good, 5 and a half hour SOT with games. Memory Management could be better.
I'm using it on X822, so it's supposed to work on every type of LeMax2.
I recommend you to test those ROMs that are available for this device, and use them for a while. You might discover other issues, or maybe you don't experience the problems that I have, who knows.
With cuoco the google play services crash. Very annoying.

Best Nougat Rom for Leeco Le Max 2?

For a long time i use Resurrection Remix 7.1.3 ROM from andr68rus and i was wondering if there is a better ROM that i can use! Yeah thanks but what about battery life and NavBar?
slim rom... just perfect.
Heyyo, eh that's a tough one tbh. RR is the most feature packed but yeah has battery drain issues...
So I'd say Dark Unicorns for battery life and customization or OmniROM.
Pure Nexus Project is also pretty darn good but it has been a while since I tested it so tbh I'm unsure how battery life is on it.
Andr68rus is supposed to have a new build of Paranoid Android really soon so tbh I'd wait to see what people say about that. Odds are since it's not LOS based like RR Nougat is? It will have better battery life.
Slim is pretty good ...

Nougat vs Oreo ROMs. Which one do you prefer?

Given so many options to choose from, Oreo based Custom ROMs is growing up so fast. Is there anyone still prefer Nougat? How many of you has changed your mind and moved to Oreo? And why?
I am now still on Nougat based Custom ROMs.
Still don't know if I need to move to Oreo, because I already feel comfy with Nougat. And how's with the performance (especially gaming) in Oreo based ROMs?
Feel free to share your thoughts, I want to know more.

Thanks for your answer, I do feel the same way. But lately it seems that few Oreo ROMs got a good touch up, but I don't know if its compared to Nougat.
nougat feels laggy compared to better optimised Oreo, ive used both extensively
I've used (for me) the smoothest nougat rom which is paranoid android and it smooth af. But after taking the jump to oreo specifically to cardinal rom I've noticed it is a lot smoother, lag free and overall a better experience for me.
was on Nougat ROMs till couple days back, currently on Pixel Experience, and I must say Oreo is the future, so fast so smooth and it loads faster than ever

Oreo roms still lack that super stability which nougat offers, but being able to brag in front of my friends that i am running the latest and greatest android from google, really pushes me to remain at oreo. Jokes aside i really like the little features which oreo has, especially in-built autofill. I really find that super useful.

If you want minimal customisations, go with aoscp or pixel experience. (But if you want super pure stock android, then elixir os is for you). If you ask me then button remapping is all what i need. Even though aoscp and pixel dont have that, still i had used aoscp for 2 months because it is super smooth. The only addons i install are product sans font and ambient display gesture. Right now i am trying out liquid remix but i would take side with aoscp on terms of feel.

Oreo roms are too laggy. They work fine for few hours after flash and then they become completely unusable.
I can use nougat Roms in dualboot patcher and also multirom but unable to boot Oreo ROMs. So I prefer nougat Roms until DBP upgraded to oreo or newer multirom developed.

Anyway crDroid offers a ton of customization and yet is very stable. Currently on Q builds (6.4). I have used crDroid for the past 7 months without any notable issue. No random reboots, system hanging or app freezing/crashes. Performance is very good and battery backup is excellent.

At present pretty much any rom based on Android 10 is stable.
Reloaded OS - performance and battery backup is great as it is a CAF rom. It has minimal but useful customization.
Pixel Experience - There are two variants. One is normal (just stock pixel phone) and the other is plus edition which offers some useful customization. Built-in kernel is okay-ish so better flash another kernel.
Pixel Rom - Authentic Pixel Port. Change kernel for better performance.
Arrow OS
Roms with customization overhaul - Evolution X, Crdroid, Aosip Derpfest, Corvus, Havoc OS and many others.
always prefer try every rom but here's some suggesstion for you
pixel experience because it is very stable and no bloatware also lineage os but for now the android 10 version is not that stable so choose your drug.
Ancient os

Fewer customisations don't necessarily mean better experience on other aspects.
This being said, PIXEL EXPERIENCE has the fewest customisations of all. It's stable too.
