Overall, I will rate it 6.5/10. Phone was good at its time. Still gets the work done without any fault. Thumbs up to Huawei`s EMUI 2 that still works lagless even after many years of use.

Overall I'd give it a solid 5/10. Decent budget phone.

Pretty sure this phone will be sold soon.

Overall it is a good package. But lack of regular updates made this bad
Using this as backup phone today. Love it.

Hörverlust, I dont "Love" this Phone, cause I wanted an other Phone. It was Sold Out in whole Berlin (Germany)
Wonderful phone, couldn't ask for more except in the screen glass department as it seems like a weaker slot of glass compared to other budget phones

+ Good price/quality.
- Android version from march 2017; now it is august
Actually, moving on from this one. Good phone for what it is.
However:
1: No magnetometer / compass / gyro. my bad. assumed all phones had them and various apps important to me need them
2: Dual Sim doesn't work. Why anyone would sell a dual sim phone in Aust that needs 2G?? And months later no update from Motorola.
Funnily enough my 3 requirements of Dual Sim that works on 4G/3G, Magnetometer / Gyro, somewhat water resistant, are only net by VERY few phones at all in the A$400 range.
Am ordering a Moto Z Play on Monday. Meets those requirements, has adequate camera and display, more RAM and Storage than i have now, AND a monster battery life.
Actually think the Motorola brand IS a good one though. Like i said, G5 is a good phone, but may have been a mistake for me to have. Offspring likes it though.

This is a great phone especially for the money. I use the Apex launcher and that makes it even better. The only real criticism I have is that the cameras are a little iffy. Some pictures are not as sharp as others. I give the overall phone five stars. Maybe an update would fix the minor camera problem. The only other problem is that I really like the fingerprint sensor on the back. Using the various screen lock apps makes the phone wake up needing the password. The fingerprint sensor simply doesn't work using a screen lock app.
I loved this phone however there are some bugs like dialer is not a google one eventhough it is a AndroidOne phone and there are some bugs with cellular network.
mynonly issue is the camera but i dont too many photos so im not that bothered, and the rest of the phone is great
Nice Camera in its range but do need bit more improvement.
It's been less than 2r4 hours and so far I am loving this phone. A great device at a great price point.
Pluses:
+ Pure Android (7.1.2 at the moment)
+ Timely updates (not really, Android 8.0 was released months ago and there's no sign of it)
+ Relatively fast and bloat free
+ 3.5mm audio jack
+ Price at Chinese etailers (~$210)
+ Dual SIM or single SIM + microSD
Minuses:
- In low light conditions the camera sucks completely and video recording is just awful; also no OIS or EIS
- Snapdragon 625 severely underperforms
- Huge bezels
- No stereo speakers
- Automatic brightness on my device doesn't work correctly - the phone is too dim in a bright environment and too bright in a dim environment
- No kernel sources yet - really Xiaomi??
IOW we need Nexus to be resuscitated. Pixels are too expensive.
Simple, smooth, no bloatware.
Pretty satisfied!!!
Great value for money
I feel it is a solid phone, but the design is boring. Probably after 5 years you won't have many memories about this phone, whereas some people have fond memories of other phones (like many people had about old Nokias or Walkman phones).
1. awesome value for money
2. love the build quality
3. fast + smooth + stock OS
4. great storage capacity
5. the camera is so so.. it could do so much more with the proper software (side loaded with GCam HDR+)
and this MiA1 is my daily warrior until 2 years ahead
Love it.

I'm really happy with what I've got AUD 280 including tempered glass and delivery. Great screen and it does what I need.

I dun understand why ppl crazy abt bezeless phones ... wat I know it's gonna hurt (spider web screen) so much once it dropped.
I think it's terrific. Best phone I've used since the OnePlus One. No idea about the camera as I haven't used it (and probably won't use it much even when I get round to it - I'm a man in his 40s, not a selfie-obsessed teenager), but it does everything I need.
It's nice and light, build quality looks good, monthly security patches and Android updates before just about any other phone on the market. For 165 quid, it's outrageous value. Love it.
This is the best phone for me - it can give EVERYTHING a developer wants. The Chipset supports Machine Learning SDKs, the device has a Dual camera system which serves waaaay more than enough if you don't shoot 24/7. The performance is great and Android One serves the best software experience. The device feels a lot more expensive and premium than it is.
I'm very very happy with this phone now it has oreo, I'm not one to moan about waiting for update and this was worth the wait because they fixed the multi touch sensitivity problem so all is good here

You can love anything in life and as many and as much as you wish... It's a choice. There are no rules. Grow up kido.
And I also love this phone, almost everything about it. Except a little squeek sound when I squeeze it... My bad luck! [emoji39]
Did I say I LOVE IT??? ???

This phone, so far, has been better than anticipated. The camera is really good...something HTC is not normally that strong at. The battery, even though it is only 2600 milliamps is very efficient thanks to the Snapdragon 630 processor. The phones is beautiful, but the back cover will get scratched just by breathing on it, but that is what covers are for, right? Good size, good enough memory, pretty phone, good battery life, good camera, and just $300 bucks.
I love this phone so far! It's fast ergonomically pleasing. I like to use a back up phone for music for walks and driving. The phone I had before that was a Samsung j7 which was craptastic. I love the software experience it really is close to stock feeling with themed icons. I am using pixel 2 as my DD and if it weren't for the underwhelming camera I could definitely use this as my DD
If battery is user removable, it's 100%
2 Years my daily phone
After 2 years I still love this phone. Battery is still very good and I don't use any case. The phone feels good in my hand.
With the monthly security updates I have the feeling that the phone is still running smooth.
Even with android 9, I will be using this phone for the next coming year. I have never used a phone longer then 2 years.
The update android 10 would be the "cherry on the pie" (a dutch phrase )
Kind regards,
Eugene

On the fence?

So as the title goes are you on the fence in your decision to buy the Mate 20 Pro?
Let's see if I can help in anyway with my honest review and thoughts about it.
Display: So this is a tense subject as you have probably read already that it has some issues (for some). Now I have a BOE display and not LG however both are being reported with the Green Hulk effect, I'm glad and extremely happy this is not an issue for me. The display is crisp and vibrant with fantastic details, as you would expect, the clarity is on point to. However perhaps this is a concern, I wouldn't worry and would purchase regardless, buy that's just me, maybe for you though this might be a turn off? I think this shouldn't stand in your way, maybe hold off for a couple of more weeks?
Performance: The Mate 20 Pro is absolutely fantastic with the Kirin 980, everything is extremely snappy and gets the job done, the only slight negative is ram management, this could be and hopefully will be improved, but this chip is just so so good, probably better then the Snapdragon 845. There are no stutters or freezes and all I can say is will a little more refined tuning through updates, it will only get better.
Camera: Now I haven't tested this enough yet, only had my Mate 20 Pro for a week or so, but from the images I have taken it performs great. AI does a great job (this can be turned off) if you don't like . The camera UI is nicely laid out and presentable, if you have a tripod you'll be able to get some nice long exposure shots, light trails ect and i love the simplicity in being able to do this with the Mate 20 (I also had the P20 Pro) and the camera on that was superb, this takes it to a nice new level with the addition of a wide angle lens. Is it the perfect camera? This is subjective as each eyes see different things, but it's a top performer thats for sure.
Battery: Well what can be said here is it's absolutely on point and even if your a heavy user like me, the Mate 20 Pro will very very easily get you through the day, and if your extreme and it doesn't quite, then the 40w charger has your back, it charges very very quickly.
Build & Design: This is always subjective as some like curved displays others not so much. The curve I like, still prefer a flat display if I'm completely honest, however it's a Evolved Samsung , nice and slim, solid, and feels great in hand, although the Twilight (absolutely stunning) is a bit slippery lol but I have no complaints with the design despite it having a resemblance to Samsung.
Features: This has all the bells and whistles as you'd expect , ip68, wireless charging, even reverse (although this is a gimmick) even retains the forgotten ir blaster (how about that) yes headphone jack is not present, but at least a dongle was included (cough cough Apple). Face ID works very well even in dark environments, UD Scanner, despite what YouTubers have said, it's more accurate and faster than my Note 9.
So Should you buy it?
Absolutely yes now there are a few other negatives that I will throw in, updates are well painfully slow, but we do get them eventually, and it has Android 9 out of the box, yes with EMUI, but that had improved, although still not the best, if you want to root and rom, then at this point forget about it, Huawei has bolted that door.
I honestly love the Mate 20 Pro, I still think as the best all round device is the Note 9, I am taking great joy in using the Mate 20 Pro, and it outshines the Note in many areas, Camera & Battery, but the Note is the complete package, with my Huawei a close second .
Yes I would recommend the Mate 20 Pro, so if your on the fence heck 14 day trial, don't like return, but I'm sure you will.
Hope this helps a little.....:good:
Agreed, my gestures animations are not smooth at all, but never saw them smooth on any phone, probably one of my apps causing it.
This phone potential is untapped, it needs software refinement to shine like it made to be, nonetheless it's the only high end phone i can recommend without hesitation.

Weirdly I really think that the animations are pretty smooth on my Mate 20 pro, have you turned the animation speed to 0.5x in developer options?
Yeah doesn't help much, same thing was with mate 9 and Samsung.
It's slightly better when using navigation keys
