Gets 3 hours on heavy usage.
phone tends to struggle with heavy usage like games, gets warm which results in a lower battery battery life, getting around 2 hours of SOT
Heavy usage I just get 2 hrs.
Average of 3 hours on heavy use.
Sent from my DUK-L09 using XDA Labs
on heavy usage 3.30 hrs
on an avg 3 hours on heavy usage. this phone is not meant to be used heavily

My current setup is as follows
-Weekly #3
-Faux's 1.0GHz 0.2.3 (no UV)
-N_-1.77.30P radio on AT&T
The battery often reaches temperatures in the 40s (Celsius) and the CPU in the 50s.
This happens when I do normal activities like web browsing or texting.
I don't experience battery drain when using my phone as a feature phone.
If I play games, even the simplest ones like Angry Birds or Dragon Fly, my battery hits 45+ C and my processor into the high 50s. The battery drains almost 1% every 2 minutes when doing this.
If I listen to music (through headphones with Google Music app from the market and offline music), I lose 1% every 6 minutes (almost exactly) even with the screen off and device unused for that period.
My idle battery life is perfectly fine, often only losing 1-2%/hr without use.
Is this normal?
its extremely normal... lots of threads like this(could have searched?) if you want to improve it underclock. Also your phone will shut off automatically if it gets too hot so don't worry
i'm running CM7 and underclocked to 608 mhz and runs everything with no problem even some games then i crank it up if its really necessary in those settings my phone barely gets hot and has good battery life

That's expected. 2k17 is very graphics intensive.

At heavy use I experience mild to moderate heating.
heats up heavy usage.
Very noticeable heating while gaming.
Once in a while, when your significant other yells at you, you might use your phone a bit less. Rate this thread to express how the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4's battery performs under light use. A higher rating indicates that the device goes a long time when you're using the phone sparingly: no gaming or video/audio streaming, light web browsing, some calling and texts, etc.

Higher than expected.Very good battery with light usage almost two days
1-2 days with MiUi 10 global dev on my SD variant. Several days from 8 to 12 if I use custom Rom and kernel.
Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the Xiaomi Mi A1 stays cool under extended heavy use. A higher rating indicates that even when playing strenuous games for long periods of time, the phone doesn't get uncomfortably warm.

No, I don't. I even tried closing all the apps thinking if that may be the reason. But even then it heats up sometimes

I use Mi A1 on 4g data n also play some online games still the phone doesn't get uncomfortably warm and can be used easily so heating issues for me.... Maybe there is a problem with your device.
Heating while charging both phone and charger is normal?
It's quite relative when you say "heat"
Any quantify unit so we on the same page? I'm using GSam Battery Monitor and my range is from 30 celsius to 40 (max). Charging with all apps off from 40% to 80% would bring the heat to 40 celsius, but the heat gradually went down (like 1 to 3 degree less, from 40 celsius) when it's from 80% to 99%
Playing Hitman Sniper would hit 40 celsius too, but I won't do it while charging.
My device never gets even warm.
Only lukewarm (hand temperature) while playing 3 different games for an hour.
Mine got warm (not HOT) once or twice while surfing web in wifi at max brightness, at sun light in days of +35ÂșC (95F)... so I assume that was normal
Rest of the time it seems cool even while charging
Compared to Oneplus One I previously use, Mi A1 doesn't generate much heat. Slightly warm but not finger burning heat like how I experienced with Oneplus One when playing games.
In my opinion, do not turn on cellular data it will cause heat, clean apps running background

i have about 10% over 10h night drain and about 5-6% over 10h night on fly mode so drain is big imho
