this might not be a WIFI actual issue. However, I am having issues getting MMS/ pictures while on wifi using android messages

Why are you taking a dump in the bedroom?

Seems decent, but here's my issues. Wifi worked for downloading stuff at work and then I left. 3 hours later, I try to connect to wifi at my house, and it wouldn't find any wifi networks until I restarted the phone. When it is connected though, is picks up even the weakest networks in my area. 14Mbps DL on Essential, 12Mbps DL on my 2015 MBP Retina.
I get speed test results on WiFi that pin my Internet connection's capability (nominal 50Mbps but I do see numbers in excess of that from time to time), so no real complaints there. HOWEVER, until Pie showed up the last Oreo update had horrid problems with throughput going to near ZERO after ~20Mb or so was downloaded. Pie fixed that.
WiFi range suffers a bit here. At the end of my house, I get no reception at all, while my old Nexus 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x have rock solid connections.
WiFi signal strength seems to be about 30% or more lower on my PH1 compared to my LG G5 side by side using WiFi Signal Meter Pro
Is there a know fix or is it an Pie issue?

We know how much you like to stream, ahem, "videos", and so cellular data is mega-important. Rate this thread to express how you think the honor 5X's LTE performs. A higher rating indicates that it's fantastic: throughput is excellent and signal strength is top-notch.

I'd have to give it a good solid 4.25, as most of the LTE comes from Straight Talk AT$T, which of course doesn't get the LTE love its full blown AT$T sim gets...I usually average 2-3 bars in the house and good speed when I am in the house, inside a metal building, I may still read 3-4 bars, but get maybe 4.7 kbits/sec. Not the worst (see Sprint Tilt 2) nor the best (see LG Flex) phone I've had in that regard.
Very good considering the price of the device
When it is cold outside ( mountain ), it is not catching well signal.

No issues with cellular strength
Pretty mediocre signal strength.
No issues with radios. Actually it performed better than G3
Signal is pretty good outside or inside the house.

To be frank. My indoor signals arent good. Signal strength also depends on the nearest cell tower and ur indoor is how closed

Right. Some houses block more signals than the other.

Houses wont block. If indoors are much consistent. Then signal strength will be too low
Haven't encountered the issue since 18 months

Not really but if the location is proper then no issue faced unless operator issue
having no problem ion signals strength.
Good signal strength. No fluctuations.
no issue.
I can connect to 4G anywhere. Just great.
Would you say that the Sony Xperia L1 is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the Sony Xperia L1 exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?

This is, by far, the slowest phone I have ever owned. Like EXTREMELY slow.
Having read glowing reviews on it, I'm quite baffled...
Xperia L1 is not the best but is far from the worst. For me is great compared to cost.

To have a honest opinion the device is offering good hardware for the money he ask.
As a rating performance/cost is about 8/9 stars. The phone is really responsive and work sharp.
Google Chrome has been found to still obtain background data even when not in usage, so if you force stop and disable it you might notice a performance increase, especially in weaker networks? I used Firefox from the beginning so I have no comparison benchmarks, but it's worth a shot, and Firefox has a pretty good mobile web browser anyway.

I'm getting ran Antutu and am seeing 173K, but only when the phone has been sitting idle.
If anything has been running it drops to 150K.
If it's warm or you have been running games that are compute intensive, the phone will throttle down to 120K.
Thermal throttling is way aggressive on this device.
I believe software updates can make it a easy 5
Just got one since the price dropped on Amazon. Right now, it's a backup phone, but playing around with
it, it's LIGHTNING fast. I use Nova Prime for the launcher. Screen is clear as a bell!

Bad visibility. Tho not the end of the world, as long as you don't live in the desert.
Screen Retention is a major issue.
I recently had downgraded to Stock Oreo and in Stock Oreo the Screen Brightness on max is very good i can see clearly in the sunlight but in Stock Pie Rom Brightness is little bit low i don't know why there is brightness difference between Oreo and Pie

LoL.....................
Under the sun, need to crank up to max to barely see content on screen.
Can't see anything at 70% brightness which is my default settings.

My MiA1 is since Sep 2017 and I stopped at Android 8.1.0. Screen brightness is nearly same as new in bright Sun.
I can read the screen quite well (if not better)
No problem for me. I would give MiA1 4/5 stars.

well then you must have another panel/screen because on my mi a1 outside is terrible to see anything on it, is the only major issue i have with my phone.
My MiA1 has GPS problems
I received my MiA1 on September 14, 2017 (in India), one of the first 100 released by Xiaomi (with "Made in India" embossed).
I think it's part of a batch which was made, possibly, with care and high quality components.
Don't laugh, but I KNOW THIS for CERTAIN that Quality Control is SO VARIED from batch to batch in this Current time (past year 2000), that You've to be LUCKY to have a good device.
This is the "Chinese Syndrome" for QC, HAS INFECTED the World. Xiaomi is part of this.
My MiA1 GPS receiver HAS Degraded, the signals received are WEAKER, and often lose the GPS location, particularly inside a car, train (worse), aircraft (worst). You've got to be near the window, glass cover (below car's windshield).
My MiA1 Display is still the Original and Good. I think it's a matter of luck for me. All H/W are performing well ( ex GPS).

well, my display aint degraded, since the very first day the glass is very very reflective and outdoor, during day time, is hell to read it.
the panel itself is nice, good color, no flickering or issues, no changes during time.
gps for me work fine, but, work better on custom rom compared to stock.
Not working gaps

Pretty horrible on original rom. But original rom is full of bugs and bad coding.
I have note 5 plus original rom and mi max lineageOS. On chrome and 4g note 5 plus takes 5x time to load page.

celluar strength is very good, I don't have any issue.
Cell strength and 4G LTE throughput are both excellent. The phone is running on the latest version of MIUI (as of a few weeks ago, which I believe is Android 7.0 based. I have heard that another update to MIUI to an Android 8.0 based system [Oreo] is coming soon).
I'm sorry, I know I'm supposed to be rating, but I have a problem, and I need help.
Phone fell in water, and it cellular network reception keeps disappearing every 5 seconds or so. Here in Nigeria, I'm unable to fix it because no hardware spare parts available. What do I do please?

Your only option is to put the phone somewhere as warm as possible, even hot (not direct heat, I mean like the inside of a car, and not in the sun), for a couple of days to let it dry out THOROUGHLY, including, one hopes, internally. If it doesn't work correctly then your only choice will be a new device. They often will work fine, though, if everything is forced back to bone dry from an extended period in high temperature that can penetrate through to the middle of the device and get water evaporating from there.
Do NOT charge it, either, until this is done.
Which means I'm a day late and a dollar short. Because I'm already using the phone, but with Wi-Fi. Problem happened about a month ago, I dried it in every way possible before powering it again. Still, cellular network fluctuates. Guess the phone is now toast...? ? ? ?
