Did you brick yours?
so im gonna try a few things tonight
first u have to have a sd card bigger than 32 gb as 32 gb cards formatted are 29.9 gb. NOT ENOUGH.
I got a 128 and also has to be a class 10 card. im working on downloading another models debrick image so i can see how its constructed.
and i will try to piece one together from the kdzs tots and my zva dump

I do have a LS 992 in my possession. It is not hard bricked. To day I will force a hard brick by downgrading improperly as an experiment to see if my theory holds true, universally across LG's G series. I have subscribed to a few services that provide the Quallcomm firehose, raw, and patch files that (in my opinion) Qualcomm should provide for free to the registered users of their products... What's needed is a Qualcomm recovery image for the LS992. Now there is a technique to build these files from scratch with nothing but traditional LG tools that most LG enthusiasts, I'm assuming, are already familiar with or should be. BoardDiag2.99 for .tot's and WindowsLGFirmwareExtract for .kdz's. For starters we need to know what FW version we bricked on. Take careful consideration that many devices on a global scale have been completely reformatted, partitioned, and flashed with FW different than what is embossed on the Logic Board. For example: I have probably purchased at least a dozen G4's advertised as H811 and retain the H811 stamp on the back bezel; but retain the gold embossed marking of H810 on the main board. I imagine this is done to mark up the price. As we know the H811 became more desirable than the H810 because of the difference of T-MO's and AT&T's corporate positions concerning bootloader unlocking. So before doing any "cliff diving triple lindey twist" down the deep flash rabbit whole we have to absolutely be positive of our main board variant and if it matches the FW variant we bricked on. Once that is established it is safe to assume our time and efforts will not be a waste of time. Is yourr main board Printed with LS9922?

Follow this thread. I am going to try and help. Although this thread is for the LS992, I belive the concept is universal across Qualcomm platforms, specifically LG's. There is a post on the VS996 available to prepare your mind. If of course if you're looking for the mindless route there are many services in which to mail your device to. Most legit services charge about 50 bucks.

I have not done any work on the G5 as of yet. I have acquired this device in hopes of safely and successfully rooting it. If the Sprint could be rooted. then the rest should just fall into place. As a matter of fact (I think) the board must be connected to the pc using the test points. The reason being is that even if when connected, device manager recognizes phone as "QHUSB_BULK" or "QDLoader_9008" the modem does not connect. Carefully exame the Windows Device Manager to be certain we are connected as QHUSB AND MODEM. If no QC modem Is avail. then the test points need to be accessed. With the skilled precision of a nuclear physicist, remove the board. Do not attempt this without a heat gun or hair dryer. You will break, if not, at least bend the chassis. Besides not to mention the LCD and Digitizer are at high risk if not reserving the highest level of attention and patience. Stopping often to evaluate our progress during disassembly is a good and advised practice, when concerning doing something we have never done before. Welcome to the world of the unknown. I personally shall feel no remorse if you yourself break your own device. I've have not taken apart this device my self. MadScientist? Can you find us a TUT on doing this? As this is your thread. I will be looking into building a recovery image prior to bricking my LS992. So that we will be able to revive our devices together.

Interesting. Why is it important to know which firmware we bricked on?
In the case of V20, it seems most boards are marked with *VS995* (the Verizon variant), including mine (H918 T-Mobile).
But I know for certain my model is H918 since the unique TMO bootloader key is in the QFPROM. That's the reason I bricked, I flashed H910PR firmware.
I had never owned a LG phone before, nor any American variant. So I walked into a trap there Could not see any warnings on the V20 forum either. Though I have put up some now

tech mine is on no firmware i wiped all partitions on mine. but zv8 was what i was on

One thing is for sure. The version of Android in which said device is Bricked operating in. Has to match the version of the FW that we would prefer to extract. Any questions so far? I'm just gonna wait for your Q. As As I'm working on another device here as well. My question to you is, What tot did you brick on? & What is the latest "latest downgradable" version?

yes as lgs harbricks are diffrent i have dealt with g 2 g3 and g4 hardbricks before all sprint varients

let me see if mine shows as a modem also

nope only qusb under ports

heres the zv8 kdz

O.K. ZV8 it is. That is more unlikely than probable. And is in our favor. And I think I just figured out how to use this app. That is also in our favor. We are on a roll.

[help!] Can't root using ioroot or stump!

Hey, everyone,
I am new to LG android devices with my G3, and everything I found regarding rooting my new phone says that ioroot, stumproot, and even towel root should work, but none of them have. in ioroot, I ran the batch file and nothing happened. my device did not go into recovery like it was supposed to. Stump just said "sorry, your device is patched", and Towel root, which I had used on my GS5 flawlessly said that my G3 was not supported. I reeeeaaaly want to get mine and my wifes G3s rooted, but nothing is working. Please help!
I'm sure the issue is that I'm on 12b, but how do I roll back the sw version so I can use stump?

How much reading around the forums have you done? I ask only because it sounds like you may be on one of the more recent software versions, and you should be careful about attempting to flash anything unless you've double and triple read all the available information out there. Doing anything less is asking for issues, and with two phone you don't want eat that $1,200 if you screw it up haha The first thing to find out is what software version you are currently on? It would be either 10B, 11C, or 12B.

Search the forums first before you post - you'll find there's a very clear rollback thread based on the kdz method. Follow that to the T and you'll be golden.
Detailed response provided in your other thread.

I haven't done much research in the forums, I admit that. What I've researched were the different root methods, and sadly, none of them mention that they won't work on 12b. I obviously have to find that other thread you spoke of.

[Help]Tried to root SM-G925F 5.1.1 But not working

Hello guys I've just updated my s6 edge SM-G925F(UAE) OTA update to 5.1.1 and it was cool
But I did actually wanted to root it so I've watched many tutorials on youtube that tells me to install the auto root kernel but every kernel I use I got stuck into bootloop and every time I had to flash the whole firmware from scratch I don't know why I think that's because the kernel is not compatible with the UAE rom so I want from anyone please that can give me a kernel that I can flash to my S6 edge without stucking into bootloop
And another thing, if I downgrade to 5.0.2 and flashed supersu normally then back with 5.1.1 with odin does that losing root?
I cannot help you with your rooting problem but i can tell you from what I've read you can't go back to 5.0.2. There is always a failed flash on odin. And even if you could go back to it SuperSU is installed on the system partition which is completely written over by wiping system then installing the official ota edition from the tar file

Try this link bro
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwWzwVYW7MUxTXFzb1hrSXdoUU0/view?usp=docslist_api
IF THIS LINK DOESN'T WORK?
Which could very well be the case!!
(i'm about 85% certain that the link won't work...)
Meaning the link doesn't want to download, or the file is empty, or you can't find it at all?!
It's simply because i have blocked Google and Samsung from this device because of privacy issues!
(2016, Google is exaggerating in terms of privacy, as more often they will try to convince you that it's for your own safety! But in reality your biggest enemy really is Google!!)
i will upload this edited Stock Rom tomorrow "Insha'Allah" from "a" computer which is better for me, sorry.
Note; The firmware i'm going to upload will be a edited firmware of which i've deleted the "hidden.img" file, it will undoubtedly flash perfectly on any SM-G925F devices through Odin 3.10.6 xda, and your devices will work perfectly, also the firmware isn't attached to any NSP!
Info; I personally don't know what is inside the "hidden.img" file, you could flash the file separately unto your devices BUT you actually don't need the "hidden.img" file for your devices to work 100% flawlessly!
So i advice you all to NOT flash the "hidden.img" file unto your device for your own safety/privacy!!!
YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T NEED IT!
Protect your privacy, people !!!
(This part is for later! After you have flashed the Firmware i've uploaded/going to upload, i advise you to flash the Xtrestolite Rom and Aroma afterwards if you want root access, and DO NOT select the SimcardToolKit "STK" from Aroma because that's also in your disadvantage!
I've personally been contacted by google and my NSP "network service provider" had blocked my phonenumber because google told them to do so! But i've threatened my NSP with a lawsuit and they instantly fixed my phone number because obviously they don't have the right to block a number on Google's demand!
If i was an American i would have probably sued them , but frankly i really don't care about money, money is necessary but it's just a worthless illusion in reality! However, i do care about my/our privacy!!)
So if this happens to anyone of you, get a lawyer before you contact your NSP OR GOOGLE, because you've won the lottery and for aslong as you have disabled sharing any of your information with Samsung OR Google, then Google can't provide anything in ANY court of law to use against you, because if they do? That would mean that they have broken into your devices which is against any law "WORLD WIDE" if you haven't given them any permissions.
What happened to me is very very, uncommon.
Their luck is that i'm not hungry and i'm a peaceful person )
Again, however this is all for later.
You could restore and root your devices without any Google or NSP issues.

BUT, i could help you setup you NSP into a lawsuit that will end up in your advantage for those who want to get rich quick and go to hell afterwards. lol

Okay, 1 hour max
Okay, download the Firmware from any one of these links:
goo.gl/TYtvMv (Google Drive, this link is only good for PC!)
http://mab.to/9h2wcUIX7
(You can use these 2 links to download straight to Android or Computer)
http://mab.to/N62ySySMP
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the file and put it AS IT IS on your desktop.
2. Download Odin 3.10.6 from XDA
And unzip it unto a new folder unto your desktop.
3. Run Odin as Administrator and click on AP.
4. Choose the Firmware you've downloaded and let ODIN process the Firmware.
5. Put your device in Download mode (turn your phone off, then hold VOLUME DOWN, HOME and POWER BUTTON, then push volume up to continue)
Or watch this video: https://youtu.be/-50XX-BxItg
6. Then connect your device to your computer, as you can see at 01:30 in the video, the tab in Odin must turn blue which means that Odin has detected your device.
7. Click on start and wait! Do not disconnect your device until your device is flashed SUCCESSFULLY and it will reboot by itself, only when you see Samsung boot logo you should disconnect your device, not before.
If you have encountered any problem, please come back to this page and explain your situation.
Also if you want to root your device successfully, let me know.
Thanks.

Skip the SAMMOBILE part because you'll need to download the firmware i've provided from the links above.
WARNING ⚠!!
This firmware is ONLY FOR SM-G925F!!!!
DO NOT FLASH IT UNTO ANOTHER MODEL!!!

Sorry Mr Mughal, i have just noticed your message.
Tell me what your problem is and i will try to guide you step by step, but i will not make a video tutorial because i'm actually not an uploader, i'm more of a curious downloader and editor.
This is just a hobby/therapy to me.
Me uploading this firmware really is an exception, it's simply because i see many people having problems with SM-G925F Stock Roms and no one wants to upload a perfected Stock Rom without bugs and other cracks, and frankly i just can't stand watching helpless people or even animals in need!
If i can help, i always will do so to a certain extent.
Explain your issue please and i'll try to help you.
Be Fast! Because this account i'm using will be deleted in a few days tops for various reasons!

develop root amd get paid.....Twrp/kernel/root development

Willing to pay bouty for whoece roots j3 emerge aka smj327p aka j3popltespr .mm. bootloadrr unlocked by crom and knox disablrd with package dissl
Update Feb 22 ....i am now compiling a twrp and porting one from zenfone 3 with same chipset....so we are on our way to atleast a chance for permanent root via supersu zip. ALSO i am going to then work on a kernel with ideaa of su already installed via busybox so we can just flash kernel and update via supersu apk . Any collaboration will be via teamviewer and file sharing ....so id you wanna help pm me ....next ill be updatimg as soon as i begin testing twrp ...cheers and lets get this thing done.
Please post any tools or links to programs that will help and i will credit you when i finally post the twrp file.
You will be hard pressed to find anyone working for that device. Dens don't work on knock off devices. If you have an unlocked bootloader then grab the kernel source and make one.

No what I mean is that it is a copy of another device. It is just a rebranded Chinese based device. That is what I mean.
Boost is known for using rebranded knock off devices. Most of the time they don't even use any for of official software. It's normal some unknown, unheard of Android version.

I don't know any more. I'm from note 4. I was researching this device for my nephew. And came across your thread and also that link. I know I used idone to unlock my phone.
We already have twrp and root
---------- Post added at 05:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:24 PM ----------
And it's not really an engineering bootloader, it's combination firmware that gives you insecure adb to remove frp lock from frp locked devices.
There is no reason I can see for needing root without twrp. But if u must just reflash the stock recovery after your flashed root

[Request] MiBox DD'd partitions over UART

Hey anyone connected their device via UART?
If possible can someone DD system, boot, bootloader, dtb, etc and send me the files?
Why cant i grab a mibox update and unpack?
Its heavily encrypted, the chances of us gaining Xiaomi's decryption keys are slim to null.
And for what i need to do, i must have a decrypted file system to work with.
I thought you were getting a mi box to work with?

There are at least 6 different boxes that may be referred to as MiBox.
Please, to avoid confusion rampant on this subject, use the exact model number as in MDZ-XX-YY.
That would be a good start...

Is it possible to downgrade from OREO back to android N or M? (H860n)

My phone is android lg g5 version H860n. Is it possible to downgrade? How? Thank you very much.
It's not with any official way like LG up or whatever i guess. BUT of course you can do it in a custom way. Unlock bootloader, then flash TWRP, then flash the rom of your choice. There are tons of guides out there about how to do it, if you need any more help feel free to ask
Yes

I have had a big research and tried millions of methods the last 2.5 years i got the phone. Without unlocking the bootloader, you cant downgrade nothing. With locked bootloader, you can only upgrade, not downgrade. That's what i have known so far. If something changed lately tho, i will be surprised. Anyways either way it's not hard to downgrade
