Idiot guide wanted....for an English idiot!! - Elephone P9000 Questions & Answers

Hi
hope I've come to the right place!!
I have a stock Elephone P9000....on 6.0 O/S....and would like to upgrade to 7.0.
Confused by many of the guides, and much of the info. I have found so far.....
Have never flashed, or rooted a phone before, and have no idea why I be doing this........is this a part of the upgrade process?
Any help gratefully received....

I suggest to take a look at this post from this forum:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/el...ent/elephone-p9000-nougat-7-0-stable-t3599677
You will also find a link to the original thread there which includes a ROM flashing tutorial.
Good luck.

Also keep in mind that if you have the US edition you WILL lose your 4G speeds if you upgrade, and won't be able to get them back even if you downgrade back to 6.0

[Q] How to Unlock UK Orange Atrix Bootloader?

Hi there guys/girls,
Ok so I've decided i've had enough of froyo and this stupid locked bootloader, I was holding off as I have seen there being many cases of hard bricked phones and being someone with no insurance can't afford to brick my phone.
On that note is there anyone that can provide me with a guide to unlock my boot loader and get gingerbread specific to my phone ( please use noob terms as i'm not too familiar with moto modding )
my phone details:
System version - Version.4.4.20.MB860.Orange.en.GB
Firmware - 2.2.2
Baseband - N_01.95.00R
Build Number - OLYEM_U4_4.2.0
Any help is really really appreciated.
If any more details are required let me know and thanks in advance.
Ron
Somebody.... Anybody??
Have a read here
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
but from how i understand it once you have done it you can do any updates (must have read that wrong).
Many thanks for the help.
I have now unlocked my bootloader and am still on froyo 2.2.2 but am suffering from the ram problem ( only showing around 300mb ram )
Can anyone provide me with a simple guide to fix this?
Also does this now mean no more OTA updates?
Thanks in advance
No one feel like helping me out?
Well to add an incentive... If someone can provide me with a simple guide I will buy them a drink ( via paypal )
Who's thirsty?

I had the same RAM issue. There is a ROM out there with the RAM fix but you can get this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16035823#post16035823 ROM and follow the instructions on how to install it. CAUTION: You MUST verify and install the kernel version specific to your phone from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169409 link.
NOTE: I am not responsible for your actions and you should always make backups of your phone before trying anything. Try downloading tenfar's CMW4 to make backup of your ROM and get Titanium bakcup pro to save the configurations on your phone.
Good luck.
so to unlock bootloader and install fastboot on my Orange 4.2.0 atrix (UK) Ill need
1.Orange/Bell/Telestra/Latin America/International users ONLY - Download IHOP
2.RSD lite 5.3.1
3. fastboot
thats correct? and what is chance of brick ?
Im on irange mate and no brick for me, got full ram too. If you want me to write you a quick guide later i will. Let me know.

If you wanted to wait i will be making a full guide including downloads etc for us uk orange users.

Heres the quick guide I posted, If you still want a full guide written out from scratch then Ill do that soon. Read through my thread here and you shouldn't brick your atrix. - I shouldn't and won't be held responsible for anything that you do to your own device happy unlocking.
Hey thanks for all the support. There are loads of noob Orange Atrix users waiting for Gingerbread OTA. I am one of them. Is there a guide tailor made for Orange UK users that I can follow? Also, if I use this, and the oTA comes through, can we flash back to that, or will it brick? And once bricked, what can we do? Ive got no insurance and brick will NOT be good, when I try to backup up from the (Boot + Volume Up = Android Recovery) all I get is the Android Logo staring at me with an exclamation mark. I understand you probably have a lot on your plate milky kid, but we are all FED UP waiting for Motocraps OTA. Thanks for any support you can offer.

Vodafone 845

Good Evening,
I understood that each device has different ways to get rooted.
If that is wrong I am sorry.
Now... I have a Vodafone 845 and saw great apps on market only for rooted devices.
Normally I would like to have those.
I surfed the xda Forum and found some discuss about this device but root links are to x10 (sony ericsson I believe).
Because of my understanding that confused me.
Anyway, I am dummy in android and did`t understand a lot from those procedures.
My request is: would you guys please make a step by step guide for dummies (with simply english) like me in android?
THAT WOULD BE GREAT!
My devise characteristics are:
Vodafone 845 ( Huawei U8120 ?)
android 2.1 update 1
baseband version 2210
kernel version 2.6.29-perf
locked in Vodafone Romania.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Respectfully.
Wonderful
This is absolutely great!!!
So many advice, so many guidance!
I really can`t choose between those.
Seems that my post is written with invisible ink!

Hey bro I just saw ya post now, I too have a vodafone 845. What you must first do is root your device using superboot, and then you need to pur a custom recovery using amonra recovery. Our device is synonymous with the u8120. If you search for any roms dealing with u8120, you can use it on this device as well. You should connect the phone via usb to a win7 pc and then follow the directions on how to root etc. These directions can be found on the page that deals with Fresh Zodiac Fruit by Cedric. If you follow these directions to the letter you will have no problem rooting your device and installing a custom rom. Once you have a custom rom on, I would advise installing rom manager from the market. Once Rom manager is installed, flash Huawei Ideos 1 recover image. Then put cm7 u8120 slyking on your sd card and flash that, it is, as far as I am concerned, the best rom for this phone nowdays. When you got some experience using and flashing roms, download v6 supercharger and play around with that, you will be amazed at the results. Anyways bro, just remember vodafone 845=U8120. Once you got this, searching is easy.
THANK YOU
Thanks Bro , I just saw your reply.
Just when I lost any hope of a reply.
From your reply seems a lot of trouble to root my device.
I rooted my phone and now of course I got a bigger problem.
From the moment I bought the phone I hated the calendar,
so I tried lots of calendar apps from the market and stopped the search when
I found aCalendar which suited me excelent.
yesterday after I rooted the phone I erased the original calendar.
This morning when I tried to open the aCalendar ...surprise,
the app didn`t open and the screen shown: OnCreate|NullPointerException null şi apoi OnResume|......
I restored to factory settings and nothing ... same message.
Would you help me please with that?
Or some guru, PLEASE HELP.

Noob problem after root

Hi guys
Sorry but i am a noob to all this so have proberly stupid questions.
After flashing to a customer rom i went back to a stock t-mobile rom. Problem i now face is when i try to download apps from other companies that are not on the app store eg mfortune they are unable to detect the type of phone i am using so i get "sorry we do not currently support your device" despite being able to do so before rooting and flashing. Is there a way i can change this with the release of skyGo on android this month i want to be able to download it. As it will be only on the galaxy s2 and HTC phones for some time i dont really want to wait.
Any help please???
Did you do a full whipe? Adding some details like model number, the rom you flashed and the one you came from may get you some more useful results.
As for the skyGo app, it won't take more than a day for it to pop up as an APK somewhere on the net.
Hello
Thanks for the reply i am currently in work so i cant look at my phone but will update on which firmware and kernal version i am running
I did however follow this guide to root reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/how-to-root-your-samsung-galaxy-s2-50004972/[/url]
Not sure if that helps i did not however use the guide to flash the secure kernal maybe thats where i have gone wrong.
I will update the thread with the info later.
Thanks again

[Q] Polaroid PMID920

Hello. I have read a lot of forums and I have not found a solution that works for my problem. I was trying to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588991 this guide and made a mistake along the way. Now it will only boot into recovery mode. I have tried to do a data wipe/factory reset and it was no help at all. The tablet is a Polaroid PMID920. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.
Bump
I'm still looking for help with this issue. As I said I have tried to do a datawipe/factory reset and it didn't help at all.
Bump
Can someone please help me with this issue. I am still unable to fix it or get it to load at all. Only thing it will load is the recovery menu.

ok I don't know what device it is
but you have to do the following :
1- look for android firmware for the device
2- download the correct odin software version that will be compatible with your device
3-put your device in downloading mode
4-flash the rom into your device using ODIN

Hello, thank you for replying.
I am not sure where to look for android firmware. I have searched the tablet's website and they don't have the firmware up for it, where would I look for it? I also don't know where to look for Odin software or to know if it's the correct one. I am pretty much a noob to all of this. Where would I look for Odin software? (Google?)

Hey so I'm thinking about biting the bullet to finally trying to root & update this pmid920 to google play. But I guess I'm a little worried as this fellow messed his up & couldn't put stock fw back on it. http://www.FreakTab.com/showthread.php?t=11960 or if I just wanted to keep it simple should I just root & sideload apps to it? Or what do u think this fellow did wrong to totally mess it up? I just wanna keep it simple to let kids have some games on it & me to bs on it n such. Thanks in advance Ron.

How to go back to original/stock P9000 loader and ROM?

Hi guys! I need some help, I have a P9000 for a year now and I have been using the CyanogenMod ROM, Android 6.0.1 for the past 6 months already.
I would like to go revert back to the original Elephone P9000 loader and ROM.
Although I have already downloaded the necessary files such as the SP Flash Tool, driver and the Android 7.0 ROM. I would like to know the step by step guide on how to go back to the original loader and ROM.
Appreciate your help!
