I have a cheap Chinese smartwatch (unbranded DZ09) and I'm trying to use it to control music playback on my phone while also having the phone connected to bluetooth earbuds. I can connect the phone to only one of these at a time, but as soon as I'm pairing it with the earbuds it disconnects from the smartwatch and vice versa. I'm running the latest developer ROM, which I just installed hoping it would fix this problem, but to no avail.
Is there any way I can solve this?
EDIT: I actually can pair both of them at the same time, but I can't have media audio activated for both devices at the same time, which I seem to need for what I'm trying to do.

Sorry if this is not the right category, I have been looking to find one better suited to post this subject but couldn't find one.
As stated above, I'm having issues with controlling music from my Bluetooth headset. I've already done some troubleshooting but am currently at a loss and hope to find some help here.
Let me first describe the problem first:
When I connect my Bluetooth headset (Philips SHB7150) to my Xperia Z3 tablet compact I can not control my music. If I start playing music from the app, it plays fine through the headset but I don't have control. This used to work before, unfortunately I can't pinpoint when the issue started but it's possible it happened after upgrading from Lollipop 5.0.2 to 5.1.1.
Now on to my troubleshooting results:
- When I turn off the BT headset and turn it back on, it connects to the tablet without hassle but I have no music controls.
- When I turn off the tablet and turn it back on, it connects to the BT headset without hassle but I have no music controls.
- When I pair the headset again using NFC, it connects to the tablet and I have music control :good:
- When I turn off BT on the tablet and turn it back on it connects to the BT headset and I have music control :good:
- When I connect the BT headset to the tablet and go into BT settings, open the settings for the BT headset + uncheck 'media' + confirm + check 'media' + confirm and I have music control :good:
- When the tablet connects to BT in my car, it starts playing after the play command from the receiver. :good:
- In these last 4 cases, the solution is only good until next time the BT headset is turned off and connects again. Then there is no music control until I repeat one of those 4 steps.
Things I have tried:
- Use another application to play my music (stock Xperia music app, Google music, Rocket Player, Shuttle+, ... are all experiencing the same issue. So I don't think it is due to the music playing software
- Tried an application (headset button controller) to try and change the button behaviour but it does not receive the command from the headset (no beep)
- Connect my BT headset to another device (Sony Xperia S, MacBook Air) and it works fine (both after pairing and after turning BT headset off and on again)
- Factory reset my tablet using Sony Bridge for Mac -included wipe of internal data-, still the same issue.
- I tried to find some ADB command to reset everything BT, but all I could accomplish was using the command to start BT (due to lack of knowledge on ADB commands)
- I deleted all app data and cache for 'Bluetooth sharing' in application manager + restarted and connected again (no success)
- I re-paired the headset once more but this time without adding it as a smart-lock unlocking device but had no luck controlling music when I connected it again
To conclude:
The headset is working fine with other devices, I can't pinpoint if this is a software/hardware issue because it appears to be only for this BT headset/laptop combination and with all music software AND continues after factory reset...
Other BT devices (=car stereo, I don't have another BT headset to test with) are working fine to control music on my tablet
Restarting BT on the tablet or re-autoring the use of media in BT settings on the tablet permanently resolves the issue until the next time the headset is connected.
So it looks like either something hijacks my device as soon as it connects to the tablet OR the media-authorization gets revoked in the BT settings for that device. Perhaps I'm saying stupid things, but I'm really hoping that you, the more knowledgeable Android developer/enthousiast/... would be able to make more sense and to give me a hand in order to fix this issue.
I currently am dependent on my tablet for playing music during my daily train commutes since my beloved Xperia Z1 Compact is in for warranty repairs
ANY help would be appreciated !
Just picked up my C5 Ultra, was happy until I tried to use its bluetooth with my car's built-in system (Mazda).
I have two problems:
- continuous stuttering to the point it's not usable, usually starts 1-2 minutes after starting to play music
- when trying to make a call, the phone doesn't route the call to the car, it shows it sending audio to bluetooth device, but no sound comes it also doesn't respond to the call end button in my car
Anybody else with bluetooth problems? Strange thing is it's only my car, it seems to work fine with my bluetooth headset. And there were no issues with my car with my old phones.
same problem here
Thank God someone posted this. I also have a bluetooth headset and from time to time, there's some stuttering then the music stops playing. To fix this, I have to turn off my bluetooth in my phone and restart my bluetooth headset and pair the two again.
I thought this issue is only limited to audio devices. I bought an LG watch urbane and from time to time, the watch gets disconnected. When I try to pair it again, it won't connect even if I try several times. It will only connect if I restart my watch and try to pair it again.
I also have a Moto 360, and there's a lot more random disconnects with this phone than any other phone I've used before. However, it does normally reconnect very quickly. But I did have to disable the vibrate on connect/disconnect because it got to be annoying.
I've given up on my car's bluetooth and using another bluetooth receiver and aux-in to my car's stereo. It seems that the older the bluetooth device, the more likely to have issues. Bluetooth 3.0/4.0 headsets seem to work fine.

by the way, I have tried my watch urbane connecting to my huawei 4x and it doesn't get disconnected randomly. If it gets disconnected because I left my phone from another room, it will quickly get connected again when I'm near unlike the C5 Ultra that needs my watch to be restarted to be able to connect again.
Check In settings -> xperia connectivity -> throw settings -> Auto-select wirelles option if it is close. if not, close and try. Maybe this help
Not working with my Huawei Watch, it gets paired but inmediatly disconnects asking "add as trusted device?" and after that it's imposible to reconnect. Any help will be will be welcomed.
This phone honestly sucks in many ways. I love the hardware but the software and the cpu is the problem on this phone. Bluetooth sucks, slow processor and ...yea..slow loading on everything. I know it's the phone's bluetooth that disconnects my bluetooth earphones and car audio because it never happened on my Nexus 6. We'll just have to wait till Sony releases Marshmallow on our phones.
Bluetooth cuts in and out when paired
Updated to marshmallow and my Bluetooth still cuts in and out when paired to my boss mini speaker .Sony really has to fix this if they want to remain in the competitive cellphone market. If any suggestions on how to solve this issue please help.
After the update I am also having problems with Bluetootn. In sleep mode Bluetootn off. Accordingly, all the time the connection is lost with the Sony SmartWatch 3 hours. Tired of this problem

Yup, bluetooth shutting off is causing all sorts of problems with my Pebble smartwatches too. Basically made them completely useless because of the disconnects soon after the phone is idle.
I'm pretty sure it's tied to the Doze function in Marshmallow, but even when I disable Doze for the Pebble watch app and bluetooth share app, I still have issues. I even got an app called "Disable Doze" to completely turn off Doze functionality. It seems to help, but I still have occasional drops.
Bluetooth seriously sucks on this phone...
Found a solution
I found out what causing that bluetooth disconnects on my Xperia C5 Ultra Dual. It's when wifi and bluetooth are turned on at the same time. I turned off wifi and bluetooth connection is now stable.
My pebble also was disconnecting and it was annoying with all the vibration and it wasn't event reconnecting. But after I turned off the wifi bug is gone. I read that this is a common bug with Xperia Sad...

I'll have to give that a try, I stopped using my C5 because I couldn't stand the bluetooth issues anymore. I'm using, of all things, my 4 year old Nexus 4 now (which I should say works perfectly...)
bluetooth of sonyc5ultra is worst working in connectivity . useless , disconnecting from blue tooth device by its own. Getting irritating by bluetooth issue.
Same Problem here also
I have BLUEDIO bluetooth headphone, it disconnect after restarting bluetooth in my sony c5. When I try to pair it again, it won't connect even if I try it again and again the whole day. It only connect if I restart sony c5 and try to pair it again.
I have a M9 and am on ATT. After the last network update, my bluetooth doesn't work correctly. For example I use bluetooth to play music through my car stereo, the phone will connect play maybe 3 songs then the bluetooth will turn off. I recently went on a trip and connected the phone to the rental car's stereo and the same thing happened. I have tried turning off all of the power saving options, but that does not help. The only thing I can think of is to downgrade the "firmware" then upgrade it and see if that fixes the problem. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Hello XDA-Devs,
i bought a brand new Amazfit Pace (International) and updated firmware to latest stock. Setup was quite fine and watch paired with my Phone (Redmi Note 3 Pro) and Amazfit Watch App without any problems. I was also able to connect via MTP from Windows 10 PC and store some music on the watch.
Now i tried to connect my bluetooth headset (Bluetooth Bragi Dash Headphone) without any success. I put the Bragi Dash Headphone into pairing mode and in wacht BT menu it opens BT overview with blinking "Searching" indicator. After a while the blinking "Searching" indicator disappears and thats it. The Headphone does not show up. I also tried with a Bluetooth speaker with same result. Both, the Bragi Headphone and the bluetooth-speaker are working without any issues with my Phone, Windows tablets and other devices.
Any clue or same issue? Actually i like the design of the watch, but possibility to pair a bluetooth headset was a buying decision for me ..
thx and br

1. Make sure the BT devices aren't paired with any other devices before trying to pair with watch;
2. If BT on watch is working fine, you should stay connect if you go away from your phone about 10m (without barriers), if connection drops 30-50cm from phone then maybe you have a problem with the watch's BT (weak connection due to bad antennae or BT chip);
3. Put phone and any other device around in Airplane mode (or switch other BT devices off), do the same to watch, then enable only BT and try to pair again. There are some known cases of WiFi/BT interference.
If everything fails, maybe the phone/speaker simply aren't compatible if they pair with other devices. Watch should be able to list other BT devices nearby, if the list is always empty, looks like BT is damaged. Try an unpair (reset) and pair again with another phone and/or account on Amazfit app. Good luck.
Hello lfom, thanks for fast reply. I did a factory reset and it still does not work with my Bragi Headphone (150€) (https://support.bragi.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000132569-The-Headphone-Technical-Specifications)
But one good news, i tried with a very cheap bluedio BT-Headset (9€) and surprisingly this headset i could directly connect to my Amazfit Pace watch and works fine...
... so it seems there is some general incompatibility... maybe related to BT 4.0 A2DP version. As you see here http://www.phonemore.com/xiaomi-amazfit/specs/3497 the Amazfit Pace should support BT 4.0 A2DP. I assume the Bragi Headphone does handle the protocolls correctly (had never any issues with them) and they are premium product... so unfortunately it seems we have to wait for fix fom Amazfit side.
Anyone else can report incompatible BT devices? Or maybe anyone else out there tried to connect a Bragi product?
Thx and br
Probably it cannot be fixed by Huami, as the the limitation is the hardware used in Pace (4.0BLE). I have read somewhere that Stratos uses a different BT chip and supports higher version, not sure if 4.1 or 4.2. There is a list of known compatible and incompatible devices in a Facebook group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/HuamiAmazfit.Pace.Smartwarch/permalink/344737925947591/
Thx lfom, i joined the group and seems that Bragi The Headphone does not work in general (others report that too). Sad that a standard protocol like bluetooth still seems to have compatabiliy issues. Have to live with it and use different BT-headphone. Thx for your help
Hi... my Kaidi headset will not pair Amazfit as well. I can pair Amazfit with iPhone and can pair Kaidi headset with iPhone but never Amazfit with Kaidi. Sad...
I made a bixby routine as follows: when my phone connects to my car bluetooth (VW Passat), it should do several things. But the problem is that the routine almost never starts working by itself? It only works after I manually turn off bluetooth and turn it back on after im already connected to my car. Anyone else have this problem? With tasker there's no such problem when connecting to my car bluetooth, but i'd like to use bixby routines instead of tasker...
Even though I have another routine which does several things after connecting to my BudsLive, and that one always works by itself without problems.
When you get in the car do you activate "media" on car, or just get in and let the phone connect to car? I have noticed on a lot of devices if you don't "fully" connect to media on car, such as playing streaming music many phones don't see the connection unless Media connected (you can pause music). I'll get phone calls fine, but no messages or Maps audio at all unless Media connected. As I said, same with all my older phones, started I think around Android 9. Think part is car manufacturers don't want to support phone options anymore, they want you to use Android Auto or Car Play and leave the software to Google and Apple.

The thing is, my car bluetooth doesnt want to activate "media" lol. It only connects for phone calls. When i try to activate media the button always returns back to off. Seems to be a samsung/volkswagen problem since i see alot of posts with the same problem when googling
I had Bixby Routines set up on my S21 to do some things automatically when connected with a car Bluetooth kit. Everything was working fine until the last update of One UI 4.0. After the update, nothing happens when I connect to the Bluetooth kit in the car. I deleted the Bixby routine, reset the app data, deleted the Bluetooth partnership, and reconnected to the car's Bluetooth kit - nothing helped.
When I create Bixby routines using regular Bluetooth headphones, everything works fine. The problem only occurs with the car's Bluetooth kit. While searching the Internet, I found out that there was a similar problem with Bixby procedures before. Back then, Bixby routines would not work if the bluetooth device did not have an audio profile. My BT car kit does not have such a profile, only a hands-free profile is available. Has the old malfunction returned?
