VKworld F1: looking for TWRP - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have been looking for months for TWRP for this phone. On the Russian-only site 4PDA, there seems to be a TWRP available for download, but I do not speak Russian and cannot get the download to work (one has to be logged in I suppose, and creating a log in requires getting past a Russian captcha etc. -- I could not get it done). Is there anyone on this forum who can share TWRP for this phone please? Thanks in advance!

Found the solution: joined 4PDA using the guidance from https://doorsgeek.blogspot.fr/2015/08/4pdaru-loginregister-captcha-tutorial.html. Was then able to get the recovery

[Q] Huawei G610T

Hello all,
a friend of mine bought a Huawei G610T in China and now came back to Europe and has the problem, that the phone doesn't have the google apps installed. I tried to find the phone in the forums but it is not listed (or I was too stupid to find it). Does this phone have an equal device, which is listed in the forums? Or can you guys forward me to some threads were a similar problem is described? I googled and searched the forum already but haven't found any useful posts till now. As far as I know, first the bootloader has to be unlocked (is there a general tool maybe for huawei phones?). After that I would need a custom bootloader (unfortunately neither CWM nor TWRP had the device listed) and then just flash the gapps.
Maybe I could also do it with adb if i can get into the fast boot? Also my friend said, that he has some problems with some european apps on the system (regional apps usually (Austrian apps in specific )). So the best thing would be if there is a custom rom available for the device. Unfortunately there is no cyanogenmod. I found a MIUI port, but that was only one specific thread and the link was broken. So maybe there are any other alternatives?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Lenovo Golden Warrior A8 (A806) root

Hi,
This phone is brand new and is the WCDMA version of the Golden Warrior. Best value 4G and spec available in mu opinion.
I had the phone delivered to the UK today from China.
I can't for my life root the phone using any method. I also tried to flash the TWRP from china but no luck. Just goes to the original recovery.
It doesn't come with Gapps which is what I am trying to load.
Anyone can help to translate a rooting/recovery from this forum please? http://bbs.lenovo.com/a8
Actually I managed to flash the recovery and can now root

I used the tutorial in here http://bbs.lenovo.com/a8/t402705/?pid=8512163#pid8512163
You have to flash the recovery twice in a row. There is root and gapps in the same forum.
You need to use Google Translate if you can't read chinese.

Can you upload the files and send us the links?
The files I am downloading from the Chinese website are corrupted.
(also if possible to give guide on the chinese TWRP, and what to do with it).
Also it will be very helpful if you could send the exact URL to the Root guide
and the exact URL for the how to install gapps guide.
Thank you.
I'll be needing this in a few weeks, I ordered one yesterday. Coming from an iPhone too, so it'll be a bit different for me, I wanted a cheap powerful 4G/LTE handset and this seemed to fit the bill quite well.
the phone ain't really that great, my piece has at least one dead pixel, shiny slippery back is just horrible (waiting to buy as soon as possible some replacement), headphones output is just horrible with constant noise/hiss not possible to listen unless you are deaf (compared to zero noise in TCL S950), brightness of display is quite weak (again compared to TCL S950) and let's not forget heavily customized Androd 4.4.2 with tons of crappy Lenovo software (unlike Coolpad F1 which has AOSP Kit Kat), but at least after root you can disable the evil Lenovo app Security which will try to make you commit suicide (btw. don't upgrade it, unless you speak Chinese, since Lenovo engineers are so amazing they can't even provide English from within the update and let's not forget horrid English localization in general and missing any other languages than Chinese and English)
here I wrote review of my new Lenovo A8 aka A806 (WCDMA/FDD-LTE) Golden Warrior bought for 111EUR (shame there is nothing available in better body with normal sound even if I would be willing to pay 20-30% extra for design and better sound) and tutorial HOW TO ROOT LENOVO A806/A8 it with links provided (I am using URL shortener service since XDA won't allow me to link my own tutorial because apparently I am spammer when I wanna help other people):

Oh, yeah and thank you so much XDA for using Recaptcha which is blocked in China, it makes posting anything useful soo much easier from within China.
I reuploaded mtk fladh tool + twrp recovery with img and scatter file to bunch of international mirrors, link to them is in my review and howto root tutorial on my blog linked in my post above. Whole ZIP package is misding only USB driver which is not rrally necessary and its on plenty of websites to dpwnload.

Thank you PeterMarkoff !!
Can you explain me in stage 1: what is "+ choose MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin"? I didn't understand what it is and I didn't see this file anywhere else.
Thanks again
I am sorry but because of Recaptcha I must post from mobile (where I have free proxy only for few mins), so can't write long posts and they are full of typos, if you have questions better write on my blog.
Open MTK flash tool, change language to ENG which should there already as well in Settings/General/Download "DA DL All with checksum" should be checked. Then just choose as Download-agent MTK Allinone DA bin which is supplied together with MTK flash tool and Scatter-loading file choose alston_fddopen which is in TWRP Recovery folder. Whole process of flashing 2 times is quite straightforward, only major thing which needs to be said is that battery needs to be removed to completely shut down phone (and do this also when phone starts automatically booting after successful flashing), otherwise it didn't worked for me no matter how many times I successfuly flashed phone there always stayed original Lenovo recovery.
In this Chinese thread you have picture tutorial in first post which is selfexplanatory even in Chinese:
bbs lenovo com/a8/t402705/ (replace missing spaces with dots)
Hahah, I see the guy added also photos for Chinese TWRP for international users, since he saw my posts there. Not sure what is possible to see wihout registration to forum. Here is my screenshot how it should look after successful flashing when you can remove battery and do it for 2nd time and then after 2nd time boot into TWRP recovery.
oi57 tinypic com/2z8tix0.jpg (replace missing spaces with dots)
Btw. yesterday I already tried Xposed, but it informed me that A806 is running probably Aliyun OS (CN crap) fork of Android so it's not recommended to install Xposed to avoid bootlops and other things, which I am not missing since it's similar situation with TCL S950 my wife has, she can't run anything higher than Xposed 2.3.1 otherwise it would end up in bootloop, but at least it seem like proper Android and not some Chinese fork.
Special thank you goes out to my Slovakian friend who lives currently in China. You totally nailed it with your tutorial.
Thanks again to you Markoff :good:

A have a8 golden warrior but td-scdma version. Is td-scdma hardware related or software? Can I flash a806 firmware with a808t unit? Ty in advance
No, you CAN NOT flash A806 firmware into A808T and vice versa, they are different. But there are actually tons of A808T ROMs on Chinese websites, much more than for A806 which is not that popular option in China. You should also know that 3G and 4G in your phone will work ONLY in China, everywhere else in world you have just 2G phone even without 3G.
ic. Is there a custom recovery in english for a808t/a806? The one I saw the that site is chinese
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Voyo i8 Plus - changing the firmware

I recently purchased a Voyo i8 Plus from FastTech, assuming (yes I know) that it would have Google Play available in its Android 7.0 build. It doesn't.
In my attempts to rectify the matter, I have explored the following options:
Downloading another ROM from the manufacturer's website
Downloading Google Play Services from APKMirror
Installing LineageOS
Unfortunately, I can't figure out what to do next, as am quite the n00b at this sort of thing (I have attempted - and failed - to mod Kindle Fires in the past with Google Play, which is likely much easier than what I'm attempting here, should it be useful to categorise my level of inexpertise).
The ROM I downloaded is a zipfile full of stuff; what do I do with it?
There are like 24 versions of Google Play services; which do I use?
There doesn't seem to be a build of LineageOS for the i8
I've hunted around on the intertubes a bit and have found numerous things that come close to what I want, but don't seem to ultimately be useful (either that or I'm missing something - refer to my description of my skills earlier), including an interesting thread right here on XDA which suggests the i8 might also be known as the Q101?
Can anyone help a noob? I'm close to binning the thing at this point.
Phants,
I have recently managed to flash the ROM with the Play Store from the official Voyo website. I'm a novice when it comes to Android ROM flashing, but managed to work out the proceedure (some bits are a little unclear and needed some guesswork), so to save people the trouble I went thought I'm making a video guide that I'll upload to YouTube, I will post the link here when I have it uploaded.
I can't post external links yet so bear with me, I'm new to the forums.
Phants go to Youtube, then the link to the guide is here:

Voyo i8 Plus Firmware update
Hi,
somebody has posted a great YouTube video and collected the downloads into a single place.
I've following the video and my i8 Plus is now all updated with Google Play etc. It's transformed the tablet from a fairly useless slab (who wants a tablet that can't install other software?) to a really great device.
All kudos to the cptwhite who produced the video, I can't post external links so go to YouTube and search for "Voyo i8 plus - How to install Google Play Store fix"

Hi,
Has anybody managed to root this device? Or just port a custom recovery (e.g. TWRP) on it?
I tried many different ways (carliv kitchen, etc.) to make it but failed upon it. Perhaps there is someone how was able to do it?
Please help!

Although over the year has passed since I asked the question above nothing has changed in this matter = I couldn't find the way to root this device.
Well, is there perhaps someone else who was able to do this?

Gigaset GS370 / Plus TWRP

Hi,
there is a new Smartphone with MT6750T: Gigaset GS370 /GS370 Plus.
Has anybody already made/compiled a TWRP recovery for this phone?
I want to use Magisk , so I need a custom recovery to flash it?.
Thanks in advance.
I'm interested in rooting this phone too.
I just bought it for measly 55€ as they are giving you 100€ cash-back for buying it right now.
I want to root this phone (GS370, not the plus version) as well. If somebody is going to attempt it, I would be glad to hear about the results.
Hey guys! Any news regarding this topic? Do you by chance know if project treble is being used?
Any news here? I tried to find a tool to root GS370 plus but without success. Kingoroot fails, SuperOneclick does nothing and zykoroot i can't find a download
Has anyone a idea?
There's probably not much going on in terms of projects for the GS370. Gigaset also has not yet released any sources for that device.
I've been in contact with their support recently and asked them when they're going to deliver Android 8 (later this year, they're waiting for drivers by MediaTek, according to the support rep) and when they're going to release their sources. My question regarding the sources was ignored and I haven't been able to get a clear answer from them.
Yesterday, i downloaded the latest update package from the ota-update-servers (they're chinese hosted btw) via their wonderful api. The update.zip contains the usual and a scatter file which (among other things) tells at which physical adress the recovery is located at. I am going to extract the original recovery today and try to port twrp for this device.

Have you made any progress with this?
Sadly not. I don't know why, but i can't get SP Flash Tool working with this particular phone. This is vital to extract/reflash the recovery or bootloader.
More info
Please tell us more. Could You give us the files?
hello!
Can someone provide me a link where I can find the stock rom / firmware for this device?
Need to get the boot.img :/
