fluffcat1,
I told you I would run into you again...
Anyone looking to buy parts for your phone DONT deal with Richard...
([email protected])
We conducted a paypal transaction on May 2... and after 1.5 months and some nasty emails I am out of 25GBP... and still have NOT received my camera and back case as promised in the transaction....
I submitted a complaint on Paypal... He emailed me saying that he was upset with me and that if I closed the case he would ship the items... so I did and he did NOt ship anything...
Very clever on his part... since now I can not go back to Paypal and open the claim again...
Note to anyone buying using paypal... If you have a complaint open... DO NOT close it until you are completely satisfied... with the outcome...
Once you close a case you can not open it...
Any Way... just wanted to warn everyone... looking to buy parts for their phones... Richard([email protected]) is a CROOK.

And dangerous too :?:
I've replied to all your messages so far and the package was sent insured so as per my last email I can send the proof of postage on to you as according to the royalmail it was succesfully handed to USPS. You are the one who takes weeks and in one case over a month to reply to emails....
The only nasty email I received was your filing the paypal complaint within 7 days of payment as I didn't reply to your email within the 2 days you requested. As it put the funds on hold of course I'd want them releasing before postage! And I don't post international items every day, I wait until I have a few to send as it's a special trip to the P.O to send them rather than going in my normal post collection, as well as filling out customs paperwork and insurance.
My ebay feedback of 1700+ should speak for itself. I'm really going to try and rip someone off over £25 with a turnover of £6k p/m.....
http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=fluffcat1&ssPageName=STRK:ME:UFS
THINGS DO GO MISSING. In the UK I loose approx 3% of items sent but always manage to claim back from the royalmail as they are INSURED like all my items are. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 weeks, sometimes longer, but the do pay up. Minus postage costs though :-(
I post approx 50 items per week! I loose about 2! That sort of thing happens, and I'm actually better statistically for postage losses than the UK as a whole.
Now, if you want to do this in public, fine, I'll post the ref here and you can contact USPS on your own, or you can apologize and I'll look into claiming from this end and send you another set.
Lots of people here have bought from me and received their goods fine. Be careful how you slander me in a public forum where posting IP addresses are logged for all users...
Richard
ok... then this is a big misunderstanding....
I still have NOT recevied my items... nor an email from you as to what is happening...
I do not know you other than through our correspondence which has been very one sided...
So what am i to think...
history...on emails...
3/24 inquired into camera and back case...
4/28 apologized for not following up on purchase... as I stated I was called away... shortly after the initial inquiry.
4/28 made payment in error... 25 Us vs 25 GBP... waited for initial payment to be credited back to my account... which you denied payment on... thnak you
5/7 made correct payment via paypal... asked for email confirmation of date shipped with payment.
5/13 had not received a response on my email... so I emailed asking for an update.
5/16 received nasty email in ref to me taking weeks to respond... and expecting you to respond immediatley. asking to cancel complaint
5/17 responding to your email... I cancelled the paypal complaint... and asked politely for an update....
5/31 still had not received an update... so I emaile dasking for an update
6/2 still nothing.. so again i asked politellty for an update...
6/15 posted on this forum
I have not received anything.... Please provide me an update... at
concep86 @ yahoo .com

Interesting
You forgot the email complaint you made to paypal just 6 days after sending the correct payment, my response via paypal to that offering a refund, and the several emails I subsequently sent that you replied to - I have emailed many times to [email protected] and have the server logs from exchange 2003 to prove it.
From you own logs you have given it just over 3 weeks to arrive to the US. Surface post ain't that quick you know and you were too cheap to pay for a courier service so what do you expect?
Check your spam filter etc.
Edit - you forgot to mention the reason for my 'long response' ( 9 days!) after payment was you had paid to my *old* email address from when you had first contacted me rather than my current address that I was replying from at the time and the one you so kindly plastered all over this group for the spam bots to find. Thanks. 2 can play at that game. Looks like you're gonna be on your own claiming from USPS.
Richard
We could go back and forth... on this...
I did not forget to include the complaint as i was detailing just the emails that went back and forth between us.
I did mention the complaint in the emails...
However, I did apologize to you for submitting a complaint on the 15th and did not reveive a response...
I am the one putting up the cash for my litlle item... and 25GBP although a small amount is still hard earned.
and i have beenn burned on ebay before.... so sorry if i require a little hand holding...
Where do we go from here... sounds like we just had some bad communication issues to resolve.. we are both honest hard working gents...
lets get past this please... I am willing to make a public apology on this forum... once I receive my items...
as i have stated previously in my emails... i am truly sorry for the misunderstanding....
Thanks...
PS removed emails from previous posts...

I have ordered items from fluffcat1 without problems. He kept in touch with me and gave me pointers on installing a camera on my SX 66.
Would definately buy from again.
I've ordered from Fluffcat as well. Always very good service, fast and extremely helpful. Just look at his EBay feedback! Surely this could have been sorted out in private.
I'll also go with supporting Fluffycat
Fast and good service for a replacement keypad circuit board for my typhoon and even gave me some money back for the damaged part, sent by paypal only days after I sent it back to him

well it definitely appears that this was just a case of bad communication that went the worse possible way...
i simply wanted an update on the product, when it would ship, after 7 emails and more than 30 days, i still did not have an update.
as for settling this in private ...
What do you think the 7 emails were an attempt to do...

In the future you should refrain from calling someone a crook unless all of your bases are covered. Just some advice.
I have not been proven a liar...

I agree.
It may be an idea to edit your first post to have a less litigious subject. Something along the lines of "Delivery from fluffcat delayed, has anyone else had similar problems?".
And why have you put his email back into your posts. That really does seem childish to me.

No, they are not. Lets see what you didn't do....
1: You didn't try using an alternative email address to email me incase either you or I was experienceing server issues. The free providors ( esp. yahoo and hotmail) randomly take to blocking domains if they are recently registered and / or not in their latest DNS list. The domain of the email you so kindly re-plastered over this thread was recently registered. This is one of the reasons I have moved away from a 'free' providor.
2: You didn't try contacting me via my previous email address where we were able to communicate albeit with long gaps for your replies.
3: You didn't try pm'ing me via this site.
4: You didn't try re-contacting me via ebay as first contact had been originally made.
Now, I don't know there is an issue unless I get told - I don't sit at a computer typing in tracking numbers all day checking if stuff has been delivered. All items are sent insured as I previously stated.
You don't want this sorting out it seems - you are just out to stir....with a different attitude on your part I would have been glad to handle the claim and send out a replacement camera module ( I have no free rear covers left :-( as I do when domestic items get lost / mislaid as the wait can be annoying for the claim to be processed.
I have not yet had to claim via the international process but domestic claims take upto 4 weeks ( and they pay the claim as stamps  ) - so I think you need to contact USPS and find out their procedure as I am unwilling to help any further after your comments in this thread and petty re-insertion of my email into it for the spammers to harvest. (As I have admin status over my new domain I'll just set up another mailbox if it gets too much - thanks.)
Your ref is RI763769010GB. Good luck!
Richard
p.s thanks everyone else for the cheer squad! It's usually only the bad experiences people shout about. I appreciate it.
both of you are Guilty of the same thing
Cant we all get along ? Both of you made mistakes and have shown in this forum you are less than civized men. You are but children acting as they do. Both of you should forget the past and try to come to a compromise. As humans we all make mistakes and act on emotions and dont realize that airing your dirty laundry in public without looking at the big picture you show a side of yourselves that you should be embarrassed of. Now that you both should feel ashamed of yourselves(if you dont you should), lets come together and fix the problem. Be the men your parents raised you to be!!!

Well thanks for lumping me in here but I didn't start it posting here in this thread...just defending myself against points incorrectly made that I was a crook which I am not. Someone calls you a crook in a public forum would you turn the other cheek and be the 'bigger man'? I think not. You would defend yourself, as I have done.

Hi fluffcat1
I am also an eBay seller and read this thread with interest. I can sympathize with your situation especially when getting a Paypal chargeback in such a short time. However, there are some flaws in your argument.
You are a UK registered seller. As such you are responsible for the delivery of the item. It isn't good enough to say "you pissed me off, sort it out yourself" or "it is with USPS, ask them" (not exactly what you said, I know). The purchasers contract with you was for delivery of the item to him, not to USPS. In the UK you would wind up in small claims and rightly so. You are coming across as being quite unprofessional and taking advantage of the fact the purchaser is US based. You also quote some interesting statistics. I do not believe your claim that loosing 2 in 50 is better than the UK national average. The actual statistics are 0.07% - see the following news item http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3681547.stm for my references.
As I already stated I am an EBay seller too. However, a loss rate of 2 in 50 would be real trouble for us. We ship on average 120 items a day and that would mean we would lose about 5 a day. We don’t lose that many a month!
As for "with a different attitude on your part I would have been glad to handle the claim and send out a replacement camera module", that shouldn't be your choice, and in the UK it wouldn't be. You are responsible for that item and you have a duty to your customer to resolve it satisfactorily.
"Surface post ain't that quick you know and you were too cheap to pay for a courier service", eh, what about Airmail. You quote international signed for on your auctions but you don't mention that only covers surface mail. The difference between the two is small, for example a 1kg Airmail to the US is £10.00 while surface is £8.30. Did you explain it would take up to 6 weeks for delivery?
“I have not yet had to claim via the international process but domestic claims take upto 4 weeks ( and they pay the claim as stamps )”. I must imagine the cheques them send me when I claim for loss! They have never sent me stamps.
I am curious how you know the item is with USPS as tracking number RI763769010GB is giving no details at all. I was under the impression an International Signed for number would give the date it was collected from you and where it is with regard to processing. See these numbers for an example – RI537451069GB and RI537451072GB.
David.
I saw a new App from Experian where you can access your credit report from your phone. Has anyone tried this? I already have an account with freecreditreport.com so I downloaded it, but I am too paranoid to enter my personal information.
check the webpage and support info on the app, if everything links back to the official experian websites should be ok...
not too many hackers with the balls to imitate big credit bearu names, lol
thats federal time there.
also browse google and see if there are any mentions from experian theirself about a release of a mobile app.
I would probably stay away from that app.... I don't know if that app is legit. I checked google and didn't find anything about it. I also went to the source experian.com and didn't find any info. Now I'm not saying it's bogus, but just suggesting that you stay away from it until confirmed that it's the real deal.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Looks a lot like their new iPhone app. I wouldn't worry about it.
I have been advised to not use freecreditreport.com, I have been told to instead use annualcreditreport.com
This below is from militaryonesource
Thanks to the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), every U.S. citizen is entitled to a free credit report once a year from each of the three main credit reporting bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. There are three ways to order your credit reports: online, by phone, and through the mail.
To order your credit report online, go to www.annualcreditreport.com. This centralized Web site sponsored by the three main credit bureaus allows you to order all three reports and view them instantly online.
To order your report over the phone, call 1-877-322-8228. Your credit report will be mailed to you within 15 days.
To order a report by mail, you will need to fill out an annual credit report request form. Go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/requestformfinal.pdf to find a copy of this form online. Then mail the form to:
Annual Credit Report Request Service
P.O. Box 105281
Atlanta, GA 30348-5281
Due to security reasons, www.annualcreditreport.com does not work from overseas. If you're stationed or deployed outside the U.S., you can print the form to order your report by mail at www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/include/requestformfinal.pdf.
When you get your reports, look them over carefully. If there's anything you don't understand, call the credit bureau for an explanation. The reports include a lot of information and you may need some help interpreting them the first time you see them. Federal law requires that the bureaus make this help available to you. Here is the contact information for each of the three main credit bureaus:
Equifax Credit Information Services

Also it is probably best if you order only 1 report every 4 months so this way you can check your credit 3 times per year instead doing all 3 and having to wait another year for free reports. This is even recommended in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
Actually, you want to monitor your report. It is a good way to keep an eye on things. I use freecreditreport.com which is actually Experian.com and love it. I started using it at regular price which was around 15 a month, then I called and said I wanted to cancel, I couldn't afford it. They dropped in 50% now I pay 7 bucks. I pull a free one once or twice a month. It's quite essential to monitor your report. Don't listen to people who don't know how important it is.

"free"creditreport.com is fine to use as long as you know going in that it's not necessarily "free" (you have to sign up for credit monitoring services that charge). The only source for true free credit reports is the once-a-year annualcreditreport.com site.
I personally use creditkarma.com, it's free, you get a score calculated by your TransUnion credit report, and targeted credit card and loan offers even. Has a bunch of tools to help you manage your finances and credit too.
Thanks for the replies. I didn't find any mention of an Android app on the freecreditreport.com website. Doesn't mean it isn't legit, but you can never be too cautious.
How my dream phone mi5 became a nightmare for me!!
Mi5 was my dream phone, I had created a post at miui forum...
But 10 days and mi5 became a nightmare for me!!
I had fell in love with speed and beauty of the phone, with hybrid case it look so cool. People were jealous of it. But happy time ended soon...
Don't go for looks, they deceive you...
And what do i need to say about build quality, aluminum gets dent on simple force. You have to use super hybrid case.
The mi Protect Scam
I called the Mi Assist for activation of mi protect, but it wasn't activated even after calling 5 times. When I went service center, they don't have any spares parts for the mi5 phone... Why the hell you sell mi protect when you don't even have the provisions. Funny thing was mi assist marketing department, called me to insure my other devices... I always said first activate for what I paid for... Mi protect is a scam, indeed.
Just a hype, no global stable ROM for Mi 5
Mi 5 is your flagship, how come Xiaomi team are so lethargic about global ROM. If you can't be loyal to global users then why you made fake claims and why Xiaomi released the phone for Rest of the world.
The Amount of defective Mi5 phones are too high....
My camera had defect, home button wasn't responsive to soft press, over heating,I waited with hopes for updates but i lost mind when physical defect were discovered in camera. Im freelancer which demands me to use front camera for live assistance. My assignments are international (European) so phone is the only way of getting connected anytime and anywhere. Clients started complaining about white dots on my videos and phone heated too much while live assistance. It made impossible for me to continue and which spoiled my ratings.
I immediately went mi service center, thank god engineer at service center confirmed the defect in phone. The engineer tested for water damage and physical damage. After confirming device problem, he issued fault in device memo. Which helped me to request for replacement. It was luckily 10th day, from the date of purchase... Finally, successfully request was submitted.
Bluedart guy came within an 24 hour and picked up the phone.
The replacement product was also defective!!!! Xiaomi dont have any polices for get a defective replacement!
BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE.
I'm without a phone and also I sold my iPhone 5s for Mi5!! You can refer my post where I mentioned about selling iPhone 5s for Mi5. Thought iPhone wasn't great but going for Mi 5 was a mistake.
Spoke to customer care of mi India but they are hopeless and clueless.
They kept me on hold for asking trivial information, which wasn't related to my problem. Just for the sake of passing time. They keep on hold and after coming back from hold they speak as if they are talking for first time. Im fedup of the harrasment. I even said to deduct shipping cost and refund me the balance amount but they are so rigit.
The service which mi india provides is a pure harrasment.
I wish mi.com had refund policy and I move away from this hell. I'm disappointed and without further loss... im sure mi phones are having high chances of being defective as only lower variants are available which are unsold stock of china.
I can't afford this to be repeated.
But let's face it, Mi won't give refund. We all have to learn something from here. And beware of the mi policies and services.
There are too many problems in Mi5. Xiaomi need to fix what it can via software updates, ASAP. Also, this is a honest review for mi 5 which will help many buyers to know the real face of mi5 and mi. Only the engineer at service center was indeed helpful, I accept that. No doubts about other products, but people need to know the honest reviews not just fanboys flaunting just cause of getting forum credits at miui forum. Cause we build expectations from it and get disappointed.
The miui forum has hardly any use, just legal spammers for credits. When its time to help, they turn deaf ears. Very few helpful mods, which are hardworking....
Hope this helps users before making decision for Mi 5and also an eye opener for Xiaomi...
XDA is great, I missed you.
After a long time I'm posting on XDA. I use to own Samsung galaxy grand and s2...

Mate, can you please elobrate??
This doesn't sound very good. Hopefully your experience isn't encountered by others
unfortunately, this seems to be the real situation with so appreciated Mi 5 at the moment.
I was so eager to read each news and announcement about it, I was waiting for a really great phone with affordable price for so long, and in the end, it seems that all of us got just a big hype around quite troubled phone.
some of the issues with the phone could be theoretically solved in the future:
- shaky video recording could be improved by pairing EIS with existing OIS
- overall photo quality could be improved by using some 3rd party app and/or different camera driver
- not-so-widely adored MIUI could be replaced with some custom ROMs after kernel source is released
- one could try to be more cautious and not brake/bend the phone
- Xiaomi support could start acting as a useful service
- useless MIUI spam forum could be closed and people could get their unlock code without a need to post >500 "great"/"awesome"/"cool" replies on the newest Mi 5 screenshot
but, for some of those points Xiaomi has to change its own policy.
that's something, I'm afraid, we will not see in at least next 3 to 5 years...
had the phone from day no such issues.

I agree, mainly, in that point. What a sh*t* forum!
Same here
I´m very disappointed too.
There are a lot of small things that bother me:
Alarm doesn't work unless you interact with the phone (even hours later)
Delayed synchronization on almost all application, (notifications coming all at once after 10 min, WIFI or 3G)
Camera focus working really bad ( tried with different applications, all of them with bad results )
Contacts or Calls stopping working from the beginning
Spotify doesn't play next song unless you open the app
Even I have problems connecting to Xiaomi Band 1s
I had a Galaxy S3 and a Nexus 4 before and these things are very annoying. I have to use another mobile to wake up in the morning....
I can't wait to install cyanogenmod.
Anyway I'll never buy a Xiaomi again, I hate MIUI and after all this I prefer to pay more and have a good experience with a nexus.

What a surprise !
I have another big problem with this phone. After I made a factory reset the phone got locked and needs to be activated. The device is associated with an existing Mi ID account that I never registered and is completely unknown to me, as is of course the password.
I've spent hours on their forum to get some answers on how to reassociate my phone to my own ID number. So far with no sucess.

After confirming device problem, he issued fault in device memo. Which helped me to request for replacement. It was luckily 10th day, from the date of purchase... Finally, successfully request was submitted.
Bluedart guy came within an 24 hour and picked up the phone.

It's okay to complain, but please do it reasonable.
Cut out all emotional crap from your topic and try again. But stick to facts and be reasonable.
Just as example, if you wonder what I am talking about.
->"The miui forum has hardly any use, just legal spammers for credits" ... 100% your opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
-> "There are too many problems in Mi5." ... 100% your opinion.
How could the same look better.
You could say: I was not able to find any useful information on en.miui.com, as most appeared to me as spam. I was not able to find what I was looking for [ state what you were looking for in here]
And instead of the very general and 100% stupid comment of too many problems.
You could have written a: I encoundered these problems [ list of problems ], a good amount of people have the same [ link to topics, stating similar problems.]
Why is this important:
I think, you made a bad experience and would like to warn people from making the same mistake, that's very kind of you!
But you achieve more if you stay to facts and leave out emotions and 100%-pure opinions.
That way you really help people, because they can make their own judgment based on facts you provided.
... what you wrote looks like a baby crying, to me at least.
@alfay0m3ga i have solution for 1st,2nd,4th, and maybe 3rd and 5th
For 1,2,4 just go in recent app and do the opposite of clearing an app, just drag down one and you will see an orange lock on left top of it
Then you will have alarms, spotify and syncronization
For the others try to unlock bootloader and change rom with xiaomi eu one

Thank you very much. You were right and it fixed some of my points.
EU rom? is it the global? I have the Global 7.2.4
@alfay0m3ga unfortunately, MIUI over android is totally different in managing app and notification
So you need to know what to do for make them working
Xiaomi.Eu rom is this one: http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/...r-xiaomi-mi5-unlocked-bl-only-released.31231/
You need Bootloader unlocked, then just follow the instruction over the thread, if anything goes wrong just PM me
I hope I dont break any rule by sharing this link:
Mod edit: links removed.
This only apply when buying a phone + accessories in same order.
I`ll be happy when you share your own invite code, so I can apply the 20 USD for my order.
Sadly, this only applies for a purchase of the 3T, not the OP5...

Think it should not be 3T limited:
OnePlus explaining the new referral programme in a blog post, "Anyone who's ever bought a OnePlus smartphone past, present, or future, can get a unique referral link. Once you've got a link, just share it with someone interested in buying a OnePlus device and wait for them to hit the order button. If your friend uses your link to purchase a OnePlus smartphone, they'll receive $20 - or an equivalent amount in your local currency - off on an accessory of their choosing. No more than 30 days later, we'll drop 100 referral points in your referral hub."
From OnePlus FAQ:
What can I use my voucher for?
This voucher can be used for $20 off of any accessory or gear (not applicable for bundles) when buying a new OnePlus smartphone.
We`ll see tomorrow
Wish I saw this earlier, but I didn't want to take any chances on not getting my OP5 ASAP.

Awesome!! You used my code to buy your OP5? I don't see the points yet, but it might just need your order to process...

I activated your code thing.. there's no accessories currently available because they are all 'sold out' but I have 31 days to use it..
don't worry, I will..
Thread closed,
XDA does not allow referral links.
thanks
Wolf
I bought 2 refurbished chargers hoping they would charge my watch (not Moto360 Gen 2) and unfortunately not compatible.
They should work but have no way to test. Will provide proof of recent purchase if in doubt.
No brick or cable, just cradle. Giving them away for free pending conditions below and 1 per member:
You pay shipping and packaging via PayPal
You are an active XDA member and contribute to the community ( I will search to verify )
If you are ok with the above shoot me a PM. It is NOT first come first serve, it's whoever has contributed the most meaningful info/posts.
And I'm not selling them because it's not worth the hassle and want to give back to XDA.
Decision will be made 3/11 and i will PM those individuals than. 3 days to respond after which I will choose someone else.
ARe they available now ?
