So i have done this before but this time i've ran into mutliple issues, First, I have an unlocked bootloader and I have cyanogenmod recovery but it will say cannot mount /data and installation aborted when i try to install unofficial cm13 which I had before for many months. So I tried to try from step 1 by flashing the stock firmware but current flashtool versio won't detect .42 firmwares and i cant find a v0.3.0.0 that works as i Had before, all the links are broken. And I tried flashing the zip in androxyde flashtool in fastboot, and select kernel to flash and flash the img inside the zip but it only installs the cyanogenmod recovery and boot logo, but as I said, cant install with "apply update, from emulated" due to installation aborted, the only thing that I can do is flash official firmwares other than the original, but only the original can be rooted.Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
I've Xperia Pro MK16i, with stock 4.0.4 ROM, boot loader unlocked and rooted.
I really want to install recently released CM9-RC1 ROM but have been unsuccessful probably due to CWM recovery.
I was only able to install CWM auto installer which would only boot into recovery if i do it from within booted stock rom, but not manually when i reboot and try to go into recovery mode. i tried all key combinations like volume key down/up when at reboot sony logo flashes bright and led turns blue for a second.
Nevetheless i tried to install CM90RC1 by following official cyanogenmod instructions in which i failed when the guidelines states to fastboot and flash boot.img extracted from CM9-RC1.zip file and then reboot from fastboot. it just stuck there and would not even flash sony logo.
I relocked the bootloader and installed the stock ROM through Sony PC companion repair option.
Now i have again unlocked the bootloader and rooted. but not sure how to proceed now.
I guessed may be i need custom ROM with CWM recovery builtin. i came across this site
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315904&highlight=108
kindly guide me if the link above will help me installing Cyanogenmod ROM and does it come with CWM recovery built in.
Also whats the difference between multiple downloads on the above link like FXP129 and CM9 baseband?
What files do i have to download now, to install Cyanogenmod ROM?
Regards
I've recently flashed CyanogenMod 12 Rom on my Xperia T.
Yesterday I tried to install BRAVIA Engine 3 by flashong a .zip, but I got an error "E:cannot load volume /misc!".
I've read some threads and the comments below and what I understood is that the Cyanogen Recovery can't flash ZIP files...
That's why I want to replace it, but I'm not sure how. I flashed TWRP on Xperia T's stock ROM with adb in fastboot mode and what I want to know is - if I flash it again through fastboot will it work properly and is it safe?
If this is not the way I need some help with replacing it with TWRP, CWM or any good working recovery......
I hope someone will answer this.....
Solved
I've used "Rashr - Flash Tool" and flashed TWRP. It shows you the latest version of TWRP and flashes it.
Working fine on me Xperia T with CM12.
So, I think I finally did it. I broke my phone.
I wanted to flash the new Existenz Rom 6.0 and the flashing worked fine. The phone started and it got stuck in the Xperia logo. I than downloaded the Bootloop Fix. To make sure nothing goes wrong I wanted to do another factory reset. Somehow, my phone uses two roms (Philz custom recovery or something like that (I flashed the rom with this) and a TWRP Recovery). My phone booted into the TWRP (which it usually doesn't do) Recovery and I thought "Well, I can do a factory reset here". So I did the advanced reset but after restarting I can't access anything! When I turn it on, there is still the Sony Logo but if I press up and down I can't access none of the custom recoverys. I'm truly desperate and I can't afford a new phone. Can someone help me how to fix this?
@DerDokktor
XZDR and similar recoveries for locked bootloader reside in /system partition , when you wiped your system you also wiped the recovery...
You'll need to flash an .ftf firmware with flashtool to recover your phone. If you want root and a locked bootloader flash a KK or LP ftf (as MM is not rootable yet), then root it with kingroot or something else you like, install XZDR from your computer and then you can go to the recovery again and flash existenz rom or any prerooted rom you want.
You could also flash a MM .ftf directly but then you won't be able to root it without unlocking your BL.
If you need help with flashtool follow this guide:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/03/1...peria-lollipop-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool/
Edit: the first steps of this guide are to create your own .ftf , if you already have an .ftf downloaded you can go straight to the "Now that the FTF firmware file has been created, you need to flash your Sony Xperia device." section of the guide.
Im new into rooting so i succesfully unlocked my bootloader and installed the twrp recovery via flash now i have the problem that my phone always boots into the recovery mode no matter what, i have a sonyz2 D6503 andriod 6.0.1 i follow a tutorial on youtube . now i have read a few threads that it is wrong to install twrp with fastboot flash boot C/:whaterver.img i should have done it with fastboot flash recovery C/:whatever.img . Im kinda stuck now and i have no idea what to do moreover im kinda scared to do something, because it can cause more damage that i already have.
im kinda sorry for my horrible english i hope you can understanf this trouble
If you want to proceed back to stock ROM, flash stock FTF using flashtool (download link and instructions can be found inside my signature), with KERNEL and SYSTEM checked, other leave other options intact.
If you want to flash another non-stock ROM, flash an advanced kernel via fastboot toolbox inside the flashtool I mentioned above, then you can flash the ROM using the TWRP inscribed with the advanced kernel.
If you want to proceed to stock ROM but rooted and with other MODs installed, there are two ways to do so:
Easier method:
Flash an advanced kernel then use the pre-installed TWRP to flash the SuperSU.zip or whatever MOD zips.
Complex method:
Restore stock kernel using flashtool mentioned above, then flash the TWRP (recovery) image (you can get one HERE) using a cmd on PC or Laptop with ADB and flastboot drivers installed, typein:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <recovery>.IMG
then you can boot into the TWRP to flash whatever MODs you want.

As always, do more research before entering into tweaking things, noobness can be fatal!
For whatever reason I can't budge the tool to flash the latest fastboot ROM on my Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite that I plan to sell since my new phone arrived today. A custom ROM from the last year is currently installed on the device.
I installed the latest Universal ADB drivers, installed the latest Mi Flash tool (2020.3.14.0), put the phone in fastboot mode, connected to PC via USB 2.0 port and tried to flash the latest fastboot stable ROM via the tool with "clean all" option and most of the time what happens when I hit the flash button, the fastboot logo on the phone disappears and in the left top corner a small white text "hit any button to restart" or something like that appears. Only once a progress bar appeared with $fastboot bla bla bla II echo missmatching image and device" and that was it... no progress, again the white text prompting me to hit any button to restart appeared on the screen.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? cmonBruh
Phone: Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite 64/4 Global (platina with custom ROM installed) Windows 10 Pro 1909, MSI B350M Bazooka with AMD Ryzen 5 2600.
Hello.. I will try to help you.. And tell me if you fixed that..
Can you install a custom recovery? Twrp?
Id you can do that fallow my steps..
First download the fallowing twrp from here :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/14cRc4UG4hzL45cDhdFZ7odr5Kb8LSai0/view
It can support ota update and your phone will boot I used it to flash my mi 8 lite without pc. And works!
Download and flash that twrp using mi flash tool. I hope your bootloader is unlocked if you already have other twrp installed simply flash the twrp zip file. And update your recovery. If you don't have any twrp installed simply rename. Zip file into .img file and flash it with flash tool. If you can't flash it using flash tool try to install any other twrp and then install the zip and update the twrp
After you installed twrp go and download recovery Rom from here :
https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/platina/
Download the first rom called : V11.0.2.0.QDTMIXM (1.8GB zip file)
( Recovery

Link
Download (Download to Mi Router)
Press download. Not download to mi router and don't forget.. Download the recovery zip file not the fast boot update!
After you downloaded boot in to twrp which I gave you above, wipe system / data / vendor / cache/dalvik and flash the zip file.
You can flash it with and without to wipe anything. But it is recommended to wipe. Pls go try and install it without to wipe anything, if it works ( for me works!) after flash done boot the phone and see if there is any problem. If u got any bugs or problems perform a clean flash wipe all and then flash!
Id you want root.. Fallow this :
You can root your phone with latest magisc manager using the same twrp. After you flash the boot.img with twrp press restart phone. If it won't restart go again to recovery and format only your data. And your will phone will boot again and you will get root acces. It's the only way to root android 10.
Please let me know if you fixed that problem.. And you flashed successfully the Rom..
DON'T FLASH THE ROM USING ANOTHER TWRP! ONLY THAT RECOVERY I GIVE SUPPORT OTA UPDATE AND CAN BYPASS THE XIAOMI Verification FOR THE STOCK ROM.. IF YOU USE ANY OTHER TWRP YOUR PHONE WILL BE STUCK IN Boot! Orange fox or any other twrp won't work!
I used this method and works like a charm
