Custom Bootanimation.zip - OnePlus 3T Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello,
I want to make or flash a custom bootanimation to my oneplus 3 (wich is exactly the same as the 3T). Someone can help me with this? i have the oneplus 3 collete bootaimation downloaded on my pc, since i can't get the normal one But how do I add text, because the rectangle is just as small as the circle of the animation. I have rooted my phone etc. Any help? Or if a helpfull person wants to do it for me, I just want it to say samewhere above or beneath the animation "Welcome Gilles" in the same font and color is the oneplus logo at the very beginning. Thanks in advance.

well I can't help you with modifying the bootanimation since this is a whole other topic but replacing the stock one is very easy.
Just replace it in /system/media

I think it's fairly easy in this case since your only changing something in the pictures. Simply batch edit all the images and replace them

I know where it is located etc but the pictures are really only the square of the Oneplus logo so no place to add the text.. and I can't change the size of every single frame.. that's over 600

for batch editing use mogrify, flags are the same afaik

Do I also have to change the resolution or any other settings in the config file? And does the tool changes all the pictures or o my one at a time. I can try it out tomorrow.. Btw I probably can't cnage for example 100 frames' size, add text and leave the others smaller?

just edited my reply with more information for batch editing.
I'm not sure if this would work since you have to change the image size in the desc.txt file for example from 270 270 60 to 400 400 60 depending on your end result of course.

[Q] Custom bootanimation don't work --> Black Screen [SOLVED]

Hey guys,
my problem seems to be quite simple. I'm stuck nevertheless :-(
I wanted to create a simple bootanimation for my HTC Desire. I found a couple of websites explaining pretty much everything from folder structure to the contents of desc.txt, so I started playing around a little bit.
However after pushing my first customized bootanimation to the phone, all I get is a black screen after the initial HTC logo.
I already tried using desc.txt files from different bootanimations that I found on the web. I even extracted and re-zipped a downloaded bootanimation so I could see if that could possibly be the problem. But none of those ideas could solve my black screen.
At least I think I have narrowed down the problem to the png files I use. My last guess is, that I save those files using the wrong settings. Maybe you guys have an idea what's wrong.
I use Photoshop CS 5 using the following workflow:
First I create the frames that I want in my animation (just like build a GIF file). The I opened File-->Export-->Render Video. Then I select "Image Sequence", choose PNG, disable interlacing in the settings and finally choose a 480x800 resolution. Alpha channel is set to "None".
After that I use IrfanView to change the image color depth to 24bit and save the files in the part0 folder. None of my files is bigger than 30 KB.
My folder structure looks like this:
part0
-----00001.png
-----00002.png
....
-----00027.png
My desc.txt looks like this:
480 800 30
p 0 0 part0
After zipping the folders and the desc.txt without compression, I push the files to my phone. But when I try to watch it, all I get is a black screen.
I really don't have any ideas, so maybe one of you guys knows what I'm doing wrong. I attached my bootanimation.zip.
Freddy
PS: When I download bootanimations from the web, it works just fine.

[Q] Image to apk creator?

Hi all,
Have searched high and low through the net and XDA. Is there such a program that can easily convert any image into a simple apk which just shows the image and able to zoom in zoom out?
Seen quite a few subway route maps app in the market already..
Would like to convert some of my image into a app rather than a shortcut on my homescreen
Is the apk manager program useful here?
No you have the wrong idea of what an apk is. It has alot more to it then images. You will need to write the code for it to interact with the other programs.

Hi!
Thank you sooo much!
I understand that an apk is far more complicated than what it seems to be. But is there a standard script or something that works by just opening up an image?
There's a few I seen in market that works exactly the same only having the images different.
I was thinking if I were to replace the image inside that apk to my image and signing it properly after that, it will work. But the there are alot more of other smaller icon pngs inside which look the same but with different dimensions...

If all your wanting to do is swap the images then you should be OK. Just decompile the apk. Make your changes and the recompile and sign. I have not seen an apk maker app as some of the scripts and code need to be written by hand

Can someone help me make a bootanimation.zip?

I looked at the steps to make them just seems a little complicated to me. I have looked at plenty of threads through the forum and they just seem to not have any easier steps to do this. I am wanting to make this my boot animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV6eyHOUrio&feature=related
I would really appreciate it if someone that knows how to make animations from videos could make this into a bootanimation.zip.
here you go download here
Thanks I probably would have never been able to compile it correctly. I should be able to compile a boot up sound myself shouldn't be too difficult.
Ok I extracted the audio and set it as my boot animation but it isn't in sync is there a way I can fix this?
well if u have knowledge of photoshop than u can get it done just click - import- video frames to layers and use ur desired audio edit it as per ur need by any editing software maybe mp3 cutter may do.
I have no clue how to do that. Sounds like something you would do to a flash movie add sound in layers so then you can have a voice and background music and background sounds and stuff.

You should compress the images next time, they load faster.
What software can I use to end up getting these images? Any software I find puts a watermark on them which is undesired.

[Q] Hide Statusbar Icons (External Storage and Dock)

Is there anyway to hide the icons that come up when you have a MicroSD or the keyboard dock, I like to keep a nice tidy statusbar and having 2 icons there permanently kinda ruins that.

Only way I found is to turn off Notifications on the Stock ICS Quick Settings Panel. But that turns off ALL notifications. I guess it's not so much of a big deal really. I'll probably get used to it until someone finds out how to.
Someone could delete the icons for the notifications.

Yeah, decompile the systemui.apk, delete or change the .png files (guess if your just replacing, you don't have to decompile), recomplie .apk, push to phone via adb or copy/paste via Root explorer.
BUT then it is still savings space for those icons even if you make them empty png files no? That is, does the xml file look for the png and set a size for it like 50px x 75px so it would still hold a 50px space or does it not care about the image size so you could go to a 1x1 empty png?

XML shouldn't consider size at all, just .PNG name. That being said, you could also remove reference from the applicable .XML file (have to find it first) and that should take care of it all together. At least in theory. I think????

Is this something that is easier to achieve now that the unlocked bootloader is released or does that have no bearing on this mod?

Sure, just remember that if you unlock you will never receive another update or support OF ANY KIND from Asus.

Thread bump! I'm interested in doing this, but don't really know where to start. Do you have a n00b guide you could link me to, to read up on decompiling apks, editing XML files, and identifying which I should be editing? Particularly, if I could edit the aforementioned XML file not only to not know the icons but possibly to not display the message and icons to begin with, I'd be thrilled. Next step would be figuring out how to make an app for that, although I'd imagine it would need root and would also be a whole new can of worms for me to open. =P
The dev for the Energy ROM Series has developed a way to swipe away these notifications and it will be implemented in the next update. Of course this requires you to be unlocked so you can flash it but trust me, once you unlock your Prime and start flashing roms you'll really see how the Prime SHOULD perform.

Do you think it's possible to make a recovery zip install with just this feature?

It is, but then you'd have to deodex your ROM (because most of the code changes are in the framework wiles). At that point, you might as well install a custom ROM.
And guys... simply putting up blank PNGs won't do the trick. The notification will be even more ugly to look at, because it'll be an empty space that you can't get rid of.
The way I did it is modify the java code for a few system apps to make the notifications dismissible. More elegant that way and I still don't understand why Asus didn't do this to begin with !!
Solution for CROMI based roms!
I have written an aroma backup/installer for your SystemUI and Transformer files that are used in the CROMI rom by sbdags. The actual work of the mod goes to elesbb at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111142.
My installer will successfully backup files so you could test on any rom

[Q] SPC_downanimation.zip

Ok so I was switching out my boot animations and found one that I liked. However, I also wanted to switch out the animation that plays when my phone is shutdown/restarted. I noticed the file SPC_Downanimation.zip. Logic told me that this was the file I needed to modify. That logic happened to be accurate. However, every bootanimation that I've loaded as the down animation displays at a resolution completely different than it does when it is the opening boot animation. The downanimation only takes up the top left quarter of the screen. It also does not loop. Does anyone know the difference between these two types of animations? And how can I get my downanimation.zip to format correctly to the screen's resolution?

The downanimation.zip you are wanting to add should have a desc.txt file inside of it. Open it in a text editor and make the top line of text look like this for the proper resolution.
720 1280 20
The way it plays is dictated by the rest of the text. The downanimation file I looked at from my phone looked like this on the other line:
p 1 1 android
That's a lot different than most bootanimations I have seen... My guess is you'll have to hack up what you want to add to make it match, or be really close, to what was already there. Good luck!

Is that for the stock downanimation screen or within a custom ROM? I am running Viper on mine right now so the downanimation is different. I think you're right though. Now that I think about it. When I originally sifted through the desc.txt files of the various bootanimations I wanted I was only looking at the resolution. I wasn't looking at anything else. All of them had 720 1280 20 in them so I figured they would play correctly.
The other thing I didn't understand was that I could take the exact same bootanimation, name it SPC_bootanimation.zip, and it would play just fine (proper resolution and FPS). But if I simply changed the file name to SPC_downanimation.zip it would completely screw up. Logic, at least to me, would state that the desc.txt parameters for animation functionality would be the same within both animation types regardless of whether they are at startup or shutdown. The only difference, again within my logic and understanding, would be the file name that is called upon from the shutdown routine. That is the part that really baffles me. *shrug*
